love this water bottle! such great quality for the price. I included a picture of the 40oz next to the 32oz to compare sizes because I was curious when I was buying. The 40oz is just taller, not much wider, if not at all.
LOVE LOVE LOVE!! I say that 3 times for the 3 water bottles I bought. My kids are aged 8,9, and 11. We live in Arizona and taking water to school is an absolute must! We have used the thermos funtainer 16 oz for years and have absolutely loved them. Unfortunately, as they have gotten older they just are not big enough to get them through the day without filling them up several times at school. We saw these at Target when back to school shopping and we almost bought the 18 oz bottles and I decided against it because that actually is not much bigger than what we already had. The kids buying plastic disposable water bottles at school sort of defeats the purpose of having these nice reusable water bottles. They also have the added benefit of keeping water cold unlike plastic! I thought I would check Amazon to see if they were available and we stumbled upon the 24 oz. which we had not seen in stores! As much as we wanted the new colors the price of the originals were great so we went with those. I would have ordered a size bigger but I really wanted something that would still fit in the side pocket of their backpacks and these DO!! I was so happy that we could find a bigger water bottle but not have to carry it in their hands all day (that is how they get lost and they are heavy for kids when they are full). I will recommend this water bottle to all of my mom friends! Keeping my kids hydrated is so important, thanks for a great product!
Great water bottles. I love the insulating qualities. Ice can last for 24 hours if you start with putting cold water from the fridge in with the ice. If you start with only room temperature water straight from the tap, a good portion of the ice melts immediately. That's nothing to do with the insulating qualities.
I also bought this bottle over other bottles due to the double cap. Remove the whole cap to fill with ice and water. Remove the small cap to drink from. It's most like a disposable water bottle cap which is the easiest to drink from in my opinion. Never any leaks with the good seals when you lightly tighten down both caps.
The only reason I lowered this review to 4 star was because of this....I bought four of these bottles. Two 40oz and two 24oz. I noticed that one of the bottles(24oz..irrelevant) was not keeping ice nearly as long as the other three. I also notice the outside of the bottle was a little colder to the touch than the others. You should not be able to feel virtually any cold on the outside of a properly insulating bottle. It was also melting nearly twice as fast as the others under the same conditions. I decided to return it to amazon as defective and repurchased the same water bottle once again. The new one I received was just as good as the other three I bought previously. That would be my only complaint. If you feel it's not keeping ice for what you feel is long enough you may have a defective unit. I realize you may have nothing to compare to side by side but regardless, that may be the problem. Hope this helps. Thanks
Love that there's a narrow mouth for spill free swallowing and handy Loop for carrying. Keeps drinks nice and cold. Bought one for my husband and 3 kids as well. It's nice not having straws and multiple parts to clean. My 2 yr old can drink out of hers and even my 32 oz which is heavy when full.
UPDATE: We've had these at least a year now and the silicone ring inside the lid fell out (and got lost) for one of the bottles. Therefore it now leaks and is never used. I suppose you could buy back up rings for the bottle and it is a place for mold to accumulate if you don't dry it carefully. So...not the *perfect* bottle but still close.
We used to use the Hydro Fla_k for all of out water bottles, and then we found a couple of Takeya 40-ouncer bottles at a major store for only $20. We loved them so much, we replaced our 16-ounce bottle with this diminutive one. This bottle has a great cap, that screws closed (rather than snapping open), and is easy to clean. I like the attachment point, but wish it would fold down flat over the spout (Takeya - would you consider a re-design?). Since we tend to drop these periodically, and even a small dent can result in the loss of the bottle's vacuum, this will be our go-to brand from now on. No need to pay more for the other brands, when the quality of this bottle appears to be as good, if not better. We found that the lids are interchangeable between the brands.

I am compelled to write this review as I'm sitting on the beach, in summer, trying to melt the rest of the ice in my takeya bottle. We are on hour 3 and it's hot. The fact that there is STILL ice in this thing is amazing. This bottle is awesome. Buy it.
Best investment in the last 6 months hands down. Keeps my water ice cold ALL DAY ERR DAY! YEAHHHH
PROS:
• Encourages drinking since the cap is easy to twist off and sip from the spout
• Adventurers can also twist the lid and drink from the wide mouth as well
• Spout is easy to drink from, small enough to fit any mouth, but not wide enough to cause a water mess
• Cap can be folded and has a locking mechanism in place to prevent from getting in the way
• Easy to sip from spout prevents water spillage, unlike other insulated water bottles like the Hydro Flask that requires opening the lid, which has a tendency to make a mess of your face when driving if not too careful
• Inside of cap contains a rubber gasket, which when tighten securely, does not leak (from my experience)
• Carry handle makes transportation easy, comfortable and perfect for those who are mobile
• Carry handle moves freely, less prone to snapping off, and keeps the bottle balanced in one position
• Lid contains a rubberized material with surrounding dots, allowing tighter grip around fingers, making it easier to open and close the lid
• No weird after-taste
• Exterior feels rugged, tough, and good quality
• Easy to wash and clean
CONS:
• No sweat from the bottle if left in hot temperatures, but does sweat on the top of the lid and along the bottom edges of the sprout, as shown in one of the pictures
• Too wide to fit in standard cup holders
• Ice melts much faster and stays less cold than the Hydro Flask, likely due to the walls being thinner than the Hydro Flask
USEFUL INFO:
• Ran a test by leaving refrigerated cold water with 3 ice cubes in room temperature kitchen for 11 hours
• After inspection, all the ice melted and the water was cool, not cold, falling short of the advertised 24 hours
• The lid can be used with the Hydro Flask and fits securely, as shown in one of the pictures
I did a probably embarrassing amount of research on water flasks before I decided on this bad boy. The price is better than anything with the same capacity with Yeti or Hydro Flask.
It has the wonderfully handy mouth opening so you don't have to unscrew the whole cap to drink, and insulates really really well. Seriously, it's kind of annoying how long the ice lasts, because I run out of water quickly if I have too much in there. I kn or something, there is no reason ow, #fistworldproblems, but it'll happen to you too!
Unless you're opposed to good things or hate water or something, there is no reason not to get this,
I bought this for my son because he runs cross-country and needs a lot of water and would like it cold even after the bottle has been in 90+ heat for a few hours. I got the 32 ounce size knowing the comments said it wouldn't fit in a cup holder - and it doesn't. That's a shame, but it is as expected. I really wish the 32 oz. bottle was narrower and taller so it fit in the cup holder and was easier for smaller hands to hold while drinking. The circumference is large enough that it's not easy for me to drink out of it with one hand. My son's hands are larger so he doesn't have an issue with this. The large 'carry ring' in the cap is great for him to be able to easily run with the bottle. He loves the black color. With some trepidation after reading some negative reviews, I put 8 ice cubes in and filled it with cold tap water 2 hours before my son needed to leave for cross-country practice. I left it on the window sill in our non-air conditioned kitchen and came back to a bottle with zero condensation, ice rattling inside, and the outer wall room temp (all as it should be). I was told this ice from the first day of use didn't fully melt until nearly 2 days later! It's only been about 2 weeks, but the bottle is everything it is promised to be. I bought it on sale during a Prime Deal of the Day so it was a great price. I want one of my own now, but I'm used to a 32 oz. capacity I can hold. I currently have a 32 oz. RubberMaid water bottle that is not insulated so forms condensation and cold water quickly turns to room temp. I would pay the full price even for a 24 oz size if they had one in green. Why is there no green?
