It worked very well but not until I did some slight modification to the closed end to allow the screw down to connect to the threaded shaft. I ground the threads for the cap off and that was enough. Too bad it wasn't a clean fit. Someone not inclined would have an issue for sure. It says it's the direct replacement for the original filter. If that were the case no modification would be needed.
I have two older Craftsman shop vacs and these filters fit perfectly. They're nice and snug so I didn't need to use the threaded nut to secure them. They're supposed to be washable but I've not tried as they're both recent purchases. Years ago the Craftsman brand filters could be washed but that's not been possible for years. At the price of these replacements it's a big plus to be able to wash them, let them air dry and reuse.
Does the job for the most part but the knob to hold it in place does not hold very well
I bought a used Craftsman shop vac that said to use this number filter. It fit perfectly. The filter came with a screw cap but the shop vac already had one so its useful if you lost your screw cap.
I needed a replacement filter for my Craftsman Shop Vav and this was the recommended replacement filter. I put it into the unit and plugged it back in and started cleaning up my shop.

perfect fit
Needed to use hardware that came with the filter to attach it but it fit and works fine. Kept hardware from old filter just in case next replacement is more like the OEM version.
I use my shop vac to clean my pellet stove which is full of fine ashes. You need a good filter to catch those babies. This one works great and is a great value. Highly recommend.
Was just like the one we replaced. Went in easy and vacuum works again!
