As I lived and worked in a hot climate, frog toggs
really helped me out! I've never found a product quite like this!
I bought this product before moving to Brazil. There the climate is extremely hot with the average temperature in the summer being around 95°. Where I lived, the energy cost was extremely high, so I looked for frog toggs as a solution to the heat. They actually really worked!
The frog togg is a piece of material similar to a car shammy. When you first take it out of the container you have to put a little water on it. Once you wring out the frog togg the remaining water starts to evaporate at a slow rate and it really cools!
I like to use it outside when I'm exercising or doing yard work. It can help me stay cool for hours. I'd say it's best on bare skin over the shoulders, but you can try various sizes or even cut it to fit on different parts of the body! If it ever stops cooling, you just put some more water, wring it out, and it's ready to go again!
For me, this is now an essential part of my summer routine. I won't mow grass again without it! The bright green color is great!
It definitely stays cool once it's wet, for a long time, and it's pretty soft. It's kind of a foamy type pad, rather than like a towel, and is a little thicker than I imagined, but it's not a problem. It's important that it's laid out to dry completely between uses, or it will mold and mildew, and once it's been wet it will dry stiff and is difficult to get back into the tube for storage. I'm only giving it 4/5 stars because I bought it to put between my son and I in the baby carrier to help keep him cooler, and it doesn't do anything when there's a warm body on either side of it. It's just warm that way. Seems like it really only works when one side is in use and the other is open to the air.
Took to Disneyworld and it kept the grandsons cool. It is pretty long so I cut it lengthwise and made one for each that fit perfect around little necks. Must have for hot days!
These Frogg Toggs Chilly Pads are the best thing ever! Just dampen the pad with plain water, and in only a minute or two, it's icy-cold and will remain so for hours. Wear it around your head and neck, make it into a do-rag, drape it across your shoulders, or place it wherever you want; just re-wet whenever it starts to dry out. The pads can be washed by hand with gentle soap and lukewarm water . . . but don't use a dryer, and never squeeze too hard nor tightly twist the pad, as it may cause the special fibers to break and thus reduce their cooling power.
This latest purchase is made as a gift for a good friend. Frogg Toggs Chilly Pads are a "must-have" item, especially for all of us Texans!
Worked great! Took it to Disney World in August and man was it hot! This worked like a charm and really did feel cool, especially if you took in into an air conditioned store and got it ice cold after 2 minutes. I tried multiple other cooling pads and neck wraps prior to the trip and this one was by far the best, even with 95% humidity. I'd highly recommend it!

I bought these to keep my husband and I cool during our bike rides in the woods in the summer. They work pretty good, kept me much cooler than without using them. You must hand wash before wearing for the first time. I find them a bit bulky and couldn't find a good place to wear them and that is why I gave them 4 stars instead of 5. But I decided to keep them and just wear them under my shirt on my back with one end of it sticking out from the shirt to keep in place. Worked great.
I am very satisfied with the effectiveness of this cooling cloth. It does keeps me much cooler without soaking my shirt. I ordered the larger cloth so I wear it folded in half lengthwise which makes it a bit heavy for me. I can't bring myself to cut it half. I would probably order the mini next time. This is the third type of cooling cloth I have purchased and it definitely keeps me cooler. The texture is very similar to a shammy but stays smooth.
I use this when mowing the yard and it helps keep me cool. I even bought my dad one to use when mowing.
Place it in cold water before using and when done using, hang it flat to dry. I've also thrown mine in the washing machine once and it came out fine.
This thing is like magic - it really does what it's supposed to. I bought it for my husband while he's working outside in the southern heat and immediately regretted our summer trip to Disney world not having three of these. It really is magic
