Hey! Did I tell you Mr. Clean and his Magic sponges changed my life?! I live in an apartment that very quickly gets gross and grubby due to oldness--and I use these suckers on *everything*. I don't recommend using them on matte walls, but I do anyway, to "erase" scuffs. I use them on my kitchen floor, which is disgusting, thanks to the 1960s floor tiles that are peeling off the floor, and thanks to Charlie Slater, the Flame Point Siamese cat, who eats his wet food while standing on his plate! and then walks around, leaving little paw prints of grossness.
I use the sponges to clean everything in my bathroom and kitchen. There's nothing more satisfying then wiping your stove with a damp Mr. Clean, turning it over, and seeing the "tint of filth." Even if you think you have an immaculate kitchen, (and your friends say, "OMG, your house! It's so clean! I wish my house was so immaculate!" when they visit.) Mr. Clean will prove you otherwise.
Buy them! Oh, and don't buy the Original, they fall apart really quickly. Buy the Extra Durable, please. You will not regret it.
For years I have heard about the Magic Eraser. From friends and family, even co-workers. Not sure what took me so long to try it out, but when I did, all I can say is 'WOW'!!! I had embedded stains from makeup and who knows what on the bathroom corian sink which I scrubbed with baking soda, even softscrub with bleach, and the stains didn't come all the way out. ONE TRY with the Magic Eraser and BAM! Stains gone. Then I decided to try it on the black toaster oven, where I accidentally left a loaf of bread and the plastic melted into the top. I washed it, rubbed it and used everything I could think of, but that thin layer of plastic wouldn't budge. In comes the Magic Eraser and it came off right away. No kidding. The name says it all, because this stuff is truly magic!
I recently discovered that if you use Bar Tenders Friend on your stove, let it site on the stains for about 5 minutes, the Mr. Clean erasers wipe away tough spots. It takes me about 10 minutes to clean the stove top. Using a paper towel or regular sponge, I would have to apply a lot of elbow grease and a good 20-30 minutes to clean it.
After reading all the other reviews, I was a little concerned the Extra Power Magic Eraser would fall apart. Nevertheless, I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. It does rub off like a pencil eraser would, but it does not break down any more easily than the original Magic Eraser did. I like the extra ridges compared to the original, which was smooth on all sides. I'm not sure how much that actually helps improve it, but it whitened the seat on my rolling stool and cleaned up the handle on my refrigerator, so I'm happy with it.
Was hesitant to try these because of the expense and thinking that this sounded too good to be true.
I have replaced my green scrubbies and sponges with these.
Pros:
1. Use on MULTIPLE SURFACES safely.
2. RELACE the green scrubbies
3. STAINED DISHES Work great and super fast on stained coffee cups and dishes without scratching.
4. PORCELAIN ENAMEL TUBS Can be used on tubs that are old and have porcelain enamel surfaces, even ones that have become porous. No need to use powder cleansers. Really works on the rust stains in these tubs and you don't have to scrub to get dirt and rings from bath oils out. Ours was stained from rust around the drain and oil stains. Two cleanings and the tub is now sparkling clean.
5. COUNTERTOPS that become stained with coffee, berry juice, etc come clean fast without using bleach or dangerous cleaners. I am really impressed with this. We have old countertops that were put in in the '40s and they stain easily. I keep one of these at the sink and just wiping with this the stains are gone!
6. PAINTED WOODWORK I use these on the painted woodwork, door jams, window sills, etc. Our woodwork in the kitchen was bad when we moved in, the door jams had a lot of dirt on them especially around the doorknobs, and the cabinets had lots of dirt and grease spatter. Using this took off all the dirt and grease without a lot of elbow grease and harsh cleaners.

This stuff really works on super dirty grout. Our grout we didn't think could be cleaned, it was on our bathroom floor and inspite of weekly cleaning the light grout turned almost black. This stuff is taking it back to white!
If I were going to endorse a product, this would be one of them. I love these things, they clean everything! They are fantastic for cleaning something where you don't want any soap left over, like the Jacuzzi. Another great use: I keep a clean one in my bedroom, and any time I get those white deodorant marks, I use this dry and they come right off!!
My neighborhood has a Facebook site where we post our unwanted and unneeded items. We give them away to each other free of charge. I recently acquired a used children's Step 2 desk that I planned to clean up for my granddaughter. It was a wreck - crayon and marker everywhere! I tried everything and it wasn't coming clean. Imagine my delight when someone recommended Magic Erasers, and they worked. With very little elbow grease, I was able to clean the desk up to look almost new! I have since found these essential for cleaning up a variety of things I thought I'd have to toss, or repaint. For example, in my office at work, there were black marks all along the wall where office chairs had rubbed up against the paint. I took an eraser and voila - the wall looks good as new. These things really are magical!
This is an odd product recommended on my landlord's move out cleaning list. I had never heard of it before, but it worked decently well. It's important to make sure it's sufficiently dampened, or it will crumble to pieces (kind of like a pencil eraser). A new sponge works great, though as it's used it becomes stained and the edges become less firm, so it gets more difficult to clean quite as well. I had the best luck with the shower tiles, as long as I could keep rotating the sponge to use different clean/ firm edges on the grout lines. It would fall apart if used on any rough surface. It didn't have much of an odor or scent, which I appreciated.
Overall it worked nicely, but I felt like I was wasting about half of each sponge as it got too battered to use effectively. The sponge gradually melts away, which makes me wonder about any residue it might be leaving behind, but since I've left the apartment where I used this, I'll never know.
On the whole I'll probably stick to my regular eco-friendly natural products, but this was an interesting experience.
For years I hesitated about buying this product, but I decided to give it a shot because I needed something to clean my grout.
I got this product a couple of hours ago and I’m so pleased with the results.
I cut the sponges in half, soaked them in water and then proceed to clean. I just can’t believe how magically this works.
I can’t wait to try it somewhere else.
