I hate the heat! I dislike Summer. Fans have been a NECESSITY for me ALL my life. At @ 7 weeks short of 70... I'm qualified to give an opinion. This is the best combination of Breeze vs. Noise I've ever had.
It's 6/13/17; it's 94 (NINETY FOUR!) degrees outside my NJ condo & I'm coping. In a recliner in gym shorts with fan on 6th of 8 settings is great... Much better than I had hoped.
I chose it (1) because of other reviews & (2) the Brand Name HONEYWELL.
UPDATE :
Now it's Oct 7th and I haven't changed my mind. Got me thru the summer in fine fashion. I'll say it again : "This is the best combination of Breeze vs. Noise I've ever had."
Outstanding! Mrs. Wingnut needs a fan blowing on her at night to sleep well. No, the ceiling fan on high isn't enough. We were using existing fans we owned, but both of them died recently. Both were around fifteen years old or older. We had never used a tower fan such as this design, but were willing to take a chance. Eight speeds! VERY quiet at lower speeds, yet still not as loud as the old nine inch diameter fans were at the highest speed. The bright blue power light on top of this model is indeed dimmable and can be turned off while the fan is running. You can choose to oscillate or not. For Mrs. Wingnut's sleeping purposes, this fan gets set to highest speed and the power light turned off. One thing we hadn't anticipated that is a big plus - we had to use a small table to elevate the old fans high enough off the floor. The base already elevates this thing a bit and the rest of the height takes it up high enough for her needs. Awesome! Small footprint!!!
I got this fan for my 18’x13’ game room. Unfortunately, I found it’s not very powerful, even at top speed. There are eight speed settings and the top is labeled “Power Cool.” The term is a bit misleading. In reality, the force of this fan is comparable to my Honeywell Tabletop Air-Circulator Fan HT-904 on its lowest setting. The positive is that the fan has a decent spread at the sides, making the rotating feature less necessary in scenarios where people are sitting in a close proximity (such as the same couch). Due to lack of power, I find it’s better suited for a standard 11’x11’ bedroom, not a master bedroom, gaming room or living room.
That said, if you are looking for a quite fan at low speeds and don’t need a strong air push (cutting), then this would be a decent choice. The lowest setting, “sleep,” produces a very low hum. The forth speed, “White Noise,” is approximately as loud as the lowest speed on my Honeywell Tabletop HT-904. The eighth and top speed, “Power Cool,” is approximately as loud as the HT-904’s medium speed.
The fan speed does not affect the speed of the fan rotation (aka “Oscillation”), which has only one speed. (A low fan speed doesn’t slow the rotation down, nor does a high fan speed make it rotate faster.) It takes about 10 seconds to completely rotate from one side to the next. That puts the fan position in the center of the unit every 10 seconds.
The unit was easy to assemble. It’s simply a matter of snapping together two plastic pieces for the base, attaching them with two screws (can use fingers, no need for a screwdriver), lowering the fan housing into the base, securing a locking nut (hand tightened), and then snapping the cord into place.
The bottom has six small, hard-rubber feet that let the fan sit nicely on flat surfaces, such as hardwood floors and tile—doesn’t jump around or move position when in use. It sits nicely on carpet too.
The remote is a welcomed option, which seats at the back of the fan when not in use—this is a handy storage location because it is out of sight yet convenient to access. As a result, the remote is shaped somewhat funny (boxy, square), so it doesn’t rest in your hand as comfortably as a more traditional, slimmer, rectangular remote. Also, it uses infrared technology, which means you have to point the remote directly at the fan—it won’t work through things like walls, furniture or people standing in front of you. Requires two AAA batteries, not included. The remote will turn the fan on and off, adjust the fan speed and toggle the fan rotation. The latter is nice in that you can start the rotation and then toggle it off (with the fan still running) once in position, all without having to get up. Note that there are no controls on the remote to trigger the sleep timer or control panel light brightness.
Speaking of which, the sleep timer can be set to 1, 2, 4 or 8 hours. The control panel lights can be set to 100%, 75%, 50%, or 25% brightness. Or you can turn them off altogether. When you turn the unit off either by the remote or at the base, it remembers the fan speed once you turn it back on, but it does not remember the rotation, sleep timer or brightness setting. So, when powering back up, the brightness goes back to 100%, the rotation is inactive, and the timer is not set. I can understand the timer, but I would have liked the other two settings to remain in memory. For instance, if you only run the fan at night in your bedroom, it would have been nice if the unit remembered you wanted the lights dimmed at 25%. Toggling each time can get cumbersome. After all, the toggling is not a + or – situation, it’s only one button which cycles through at one direction. For example, the fan speed button advances the setting from lower to higher, so once you get to the eighth speed, it jumps back down to the first. In an ideal setting, I would be able to go from eighth to seventh with a single back button click. But on this fan, to get from eighth to seventh, you have to click the button and climb back up. Meaning, it takes seven clicks to go from the eighth speed to the seventh. (The same is true whether using the button on the base or remote.)
The manufacturer recommends using a pipe cleaner, flexible dust wand, vacuum cleaner or compressed air to remove dust from the grills and blade. Use a soft cloth to gently wipe the outer surfaces of the fan.
Overall, I was disappointed by the poor power level. Using the current eight settings as a measure, I would ideally have wanted the fan to reach up to a power level of sixteen. But this fan is designed more for being quiet, which makes a better bedroom option IMO. Though limited, I really like having a remote, and as mentioned, it has a great storage location on the fan itself. This unit makes for a good space saving option, as it’s slim and does not take up a lot of width on the floor (it is 40” tall, however, so keep that in mind). I rated it 4-stars because “I like it” overall, and in the proper setting, it makes for a good solution.
I love the settings on this fan. They aren't simply 1,2,3 and oscillate. It even has a timer if you want to fall asleep with a nice breeze. I like the white noise setting but all settings apart from the top power setting are very quiet. Even when I am six feet away sitting on my couch I can easily feel the breeze on a lower setting. Also the assembly takes maybe 3 minutes, it's super easy.
To begin with, no fan is a substitute of an AC system, those that use one need to understand thermodynamics, AC units remove the heat from the room and have super-cooling methods that wouldn't be used in a fan. To get air OUT of a room, you need an exit, an open door, window, etc.
I use mine in support of our AC unit, which is all the way in the living room (and struggles to reach my room). Fans are mainly intended to keep the air circulating, but by doing so also slightly (but noticeably in enclosed environments, far more than in open) increase the temperature as a byproduct. However, fans do make it more bearable, and make a significant difference when centered onto the person in question.
It's a rather quiet, and tall fan, as opposed to the arguably much stronger, less efficient, and louder box fan that I used to have. This fan does rotate, has multiple settings including ones (that at the lower levels) are little more than white noise, meaning it can be used to give a slight cooling sensation, without being overwhelming, while also staying just loud enough to drown out the disturbances of the night, an owl hooting at an odd hour, birds flying around, etc.
Is it perfect, no, in my case my bed happens to be too tall (which I had just set up a day prior to receiving the fan) to make the full use of the fan at night, however the white noise helps with sleeping, and it still does keep a good deal of the heat off at night. I would recommend it to someone who understood what they were looking for in a fan, and what they would be getting. If you are looking for a fan, not an AC unit, this is something that I would recommend.

Everything is really good so far, my only small complaint is that the fan speed button makes a slight vibration noise. The noise can be heard over the first 3 fan speeds (it’s not that loud, but would annoy me). My solution was to put electrical tape over it, then the sound went away.
Also seems that at the lowest speed one of the other buttons starts to rattle, but I don’t use the low speed.
Overall it seems pretty sturdy, it’s not easy to knock over. The many light and speed settings were the primary reasons for buying this one over others, and they are great (minus the noise at certain speed).
It’s unfortunate for a “quiet” fan to have plastic buttons that rattle, should’ve went with another material.
I bought this fan because my house mates are always cold when I'm hot & our electric bill is high during the summers in Florida. I ordered this fan after reading a lot of the reviews on amazon. So far, it's working wonderfully! I took my time to make sure I assembled it carefully. There's been no clicking or annoying whirring sound like some other reviews have reported. I really like how amazingly cool if feels in my bedroom now! This fan blows cold air! I have it on the "Cool" setting & it's not loud at all. It circulates the air wonderfully. I was worried that it might be too loud (I'm a light sleeper), but I'm pleasantly satisfied with its performance so far. I would reccomend this tower fan based on ease of assembly, quietness and the multiple functions/settings that it offers
lIKE THE PRODUCT BUT ONLY WAY I FOUND OUT I HAD MY PACKAGE WAS WALKING OUT TO THE DUMPSTER AND SEE THE PACKAGE SITTING IN FRONT OF MY DOOR... YOUR DRIVER DID NOT KNOCK ON MY DOOR , THEY ALSO DID NOT FOLLOW DIRECTION BY PUTTING IT ON MY PATIO DOOR .. THEY JUST DROPPED THE PACKAGE AND WALKED AWAY... YOUR DRIVERS SUCK BIG TIME... GET REAL DRIVERS WHO FOLLOW DIRECTION... MY PROFILE SAYS PUT ANY PACKAGES ON MY PATIO .........
I got this item the beginning of February, have had it about 29 days now. I have seriously enjoyed having it. It truly works as described. They aren't loud on the highest setting for us, but they keep the air in our basement room circulating and cool, which is what we needed. They also take up MINIMUM ROOM!! SPACE IS A VALUABLE REAL ESTATE in our room, and this fits the bill. It also oscillates real well, and covers the entire span we need it to. It is also affordable than most. Say goodbye to huge fans. Honestly 2 still takes up room than circular fans with stands.
Update 5/20/2019: IT WORKS WONDERS!! I truly recommend this to absolutely anyone that does NOT have a ton of floor space but still wants a powerful fan. It has cut down tremendously on electric bill, and circulates air spectacularly. It is making us feel even more comfortable. And with our ceiling fan it works great so we do not need to turn air conditioning on until it goes above 80°F. (and we live in basement room with no windows that are able to be opened)
And with air conditioning it circulates air splendidly and it is keeping our house so much cooler during these warmer days that we have been having.
There are areas around my home both inside and out that do not get air circulation such as in the breakfast nook. We chose not to install a ceiling fan because our food would get cold. This Honeywell Tower Fan is the best to circulate air both in oscillation mode and in direct air flow to all who sit around our table.
Also we use it outside on our lanai in the summer while we sit outside because here in Florida, it gets pretty hot. Of course, if we didn't have a pool and used this in between taking dips in the pool, there is NO FAN powerful enough to cool you when it is in the 90's and the humidity is the same! But this fan gives a nice breeze and helps to evaporate any perspiration on your skin which cools you off! I would recommend this to everyone! It has quiet settings as well. It's the best!
