I use this titanium handmade spike as a keychain/kubaton. It is well made and ultra light and strong being made of titanium. The spike portion is longer then the similar designed units, which makes it more effective in a self defense situation. It has nice grooves along the base that gives you a nice grip on it. The price seemed about $10 too high, but I couldn’t find anything like it in titanium so I bought it.
Nice spike - too sharp to be a fid, more like an awl. Snipped off 1/32”and polished to a rounded point, is now a fid. Hit it with a torch to flame color it. Love it - really good price for ti
Really like the weight, just feels good in my rather large hands.
Excellent quality, I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Description
The Marlin Spike is a tool used in marine ropework, sometimes called a fid. Shaped in the form of a polished metal cone tapered to a rounded or flattened point, they aid in such tasks as unlaying rope for splicing, untying knots, drawing marline tight using a marlinspike hitch, and as a toggle joining ropes under tension in a belaying pin splice. Hand machined from 1/2" diameter grade 5 titanium, this feels great in the hand, and would make a great addition to your camping gear, go-bag, etc. Dimensions: .500" diameter X 6" long. Weight (with lanyard and lanyard bead): ~2.2oz/62g Comes with the lanyard and copper lanyard bead.
