I'll preface this by saying I ordered the wrong ones - I thought these had the automatic 8 hrs on/16 hrs off timer but they're just a constant on unless you turn off the battery pack. So I've already ordered another set with a timer (which oddly enough are less expensive than these), but I'm keeping these because (1) it was my own mistake and (2) these are lovely and very bright little lights that I'm sure I'll find a use for. I think some people look for these to put on things like door wreaths, etc., and that would work well with the wire strand, but the battery pack (3 AA's) adds a bit of weight, so be aware of that. I almost gave 4 stars but decided if someone didn't actually care about a timer feature then these are probably going to be perfectly fine for what you want.
I have a small gas fireplace that hasn't worked in over 15 years. Believe me I tried to get it fixed but the electric company said the gas company has it fix it before they could touch it and the gas company said the electric company had to fix it before they would touch it! So I've used votive candles in it for 15 years. I saw these lights and thought they may just be small enough to put in my fireplace to give it a little more light. Oh, what to my wondering eyes did appear but lights everywhere!! It came in a small cardboard box which I was so impressed with to begin with! I'm using the box for other things; it's sturdy and not like your usual box. The string of lights are longer than I thought. I wrapped them carefully around the 2 logs and they light up the whole fireplace! I don't even need candles! The string is copper and very delicate, so when you are using them, don't kink or bend them too much - be very gentle. It has a little white semi-see through box at the end of it that contains 3 AA batteries. I'm so impressed with them; for the money, they are worth while and do provide a lot of light.
These lights are bright for how small they are (not overwhelmingly bright at all), and they look so pretty along my bedroom wall. I wanted lights that didn't plug in with a power cord because I don't have any free outlets and I don't like the look of cables running along the wall to the outlet. The lights are powered with 3 AA batteries and the battery pack isn't too big or heavy so I tucked it into a shelf I keep along the wall and it sits nicely and out of sight but is still easy to access to turn them off at night. They're very easy to hang and move if you want to put them somewhere else.
11/27/18: The batteries do tend to drain quickly, but the lights are so lovely that I overlook this one flaw. I bought three more and I'm using them outdoors in my hanging baskets with ornaments and one is indoors topping the Christmas stockings. The fourth one was in case one failed, but I put it to use since they were all working. Very happy with these overall, though I have taken back one star for the batteries draining so quickly. A twinkling/blinking option would be nice too.
My outdoor wreath had bad lights in terms of brightness and this year most of them died for an undetectable reason. I ended up with a 1/3rd lit wreath and I didn't care enough to troubleshoot since it was purchased in 2012. I got my money's worth. Since the lighting was the only thing that was wrong with the wreath, though I do want to upgrade the ribbon, I decided to go with these lights. I removed the installed lights and ancient, enormous battery box that required D cells, and installed this small battery box that did a better job at 1/3 the size. The lights are beautiful and much better than what came with the wreath, and the new ones are bright and so pretty.
Do be careful with the wire, it is thin and prone to tangling so don't pull harshly. I wound the lights in and out of the branches rather than wrap it around the wreath. Worked perfectly and I can get more seasons from my wreath. Next year, the bow goes. 😁
The tiny lights look perfect on our 3-foot high table-top tree, and we don't need to add anything else. Love the fact that the lights are batttery operated and can be right next to the tree; don't have to worry about tripping over a cord that goes to the wall. A real Christmas bargain!

Over an 8 hour period it will go from super bright to so dim you can't tell it's on. If you use it in short increments the illumination is consistent. I actually am using these to light the inside of a cabinet and I am satisfied with it for that purpose but the other negative reviews aren't wrong. The photos are of the first use with brand new batteries.
Bought these for my Thanksgiving centerpiece but I have actually been leaving them on the table and just changing the ornaments according to the season. Love them!
These fairy lights are a perfect way to light up my mini Christmas tree. It is a soft glow it they are bright enough to see them well from outside which is exactly what I wanted. My only complaint would be that the battery pack isn’t made very well. It hasn’t stayed closed since I bought it so I have to set it flat. That’s not a big deal for my use since it’s in a window sill and it doesn’t compromise the quality of the lights.
I have never written a review but I am so impressed with these lights! When I initially got them I was shocked to see how small the actual light was and thin the wire- for me seemed smaller than as pictured. I wasn’t sure if the light would have any effect bc of how small it was. When I put in the batteries I was shocked at how beautiful and lit up the lights were. I used this as decor for my indoor plant and I LOVE how you can not see the lights unless you are super up close. So happy that I ordered two more. I’m taking one star off became I wish there was more length for this lighting especially considering how small/thin they are. Happy customer overall.
Santa gave my daughter a doll house for Christmas. I thought it could use some more lighting so I started researching fairy lights. Came across these lights. I bought 2. These are perfect! I love these lights. I hung one around the top frame and stuffed the other into a small mason jar. The ones I purchased are more of a soft lighting. They are just the right length. I will buy more to make my kids' rooms fun and cozy. The price was decent as well. I really do like these lights.
