BLACK+DECKER Digital Advantage Professional Steam Iron, D2530

LOVE THIS IRON!

I've had cheap-eo irons and I've had $150 irons. This one is the best I've ever used. And let me say that back in the "olden days" I used to even have an ironing business (when I was in my early teens) for people in my neighborhood, so I know how to handle an iron! LOL We ironed everything in my home: shirts, pants, curtains, pillowcases. So.....

What I love about it:
The weight. It's not too heavy but it's heavy enough. Too light of an iron won't do the job well.
The steam is fantastic. When turned up to the highest setting it really puts it out.
The quickness of heat-up....one word: seconds. Boom.
No drips, no weird water marks. Ever. (Those are deal breakers to me)

What I don't love:
Non-retractable cord. I know, I'm lazy.
The location of the steam adjustment. Inevitably I accidentally turn it down (or off) while I'm ironing.

Bottom line: Do not waste your money on a different iron. This one is THE BOMB. No drips, no splatters, amazing steam, perfect weight, great soleplate (stainless and smoooooth), excellent ability to get around buttons and in pleats with the ridge around the point....it's just a fantastic iron and an amazing price.

I'm all about ergonomics and how a tool operates in my hand. I would have given this product a 4 if not for the poor placement of the steam button. I use the steam often but due to the button being placed on the right side( the spray is on the Left ), it makes the iron not as user friendly as it could have been. gripping the handle required a slight tilt outward. You will understand if you purchase and are right handed. Now this is being a little picky, but there is a lot of choice out there and this would have been a deal breaker if I had tried it out ahead of time.

Update : I should have updates soon after I wrote the original review. Shortly after posting original review , Black+Decker reaches out and offered me a replacement and one that hey thought would better fit my needs. It arrived one week later and was perfect. All they asked was that I donate iron to worthy cause, which I did. Can’t say enough about there customer service and quality of iron. Very pleased

The perfect weight - not too heavy yet heavy enough to iron out wrinkles without bearing down on it. Glides smoothly. I got some gunk on it from spray starch and it cleaned right up, using a sponge dipped in warm water with dishwashing liquid. Easy to fill and easy to check how much water is in the iron for steam/spray, too. Several settings. I use the highest - Linen - on my 100% cotton sheets. It's almost fun to iron with this baby.

Im a little OCD when it comes to irons so when I say this iron is worth every penny of the $ 50 bucks --trust me it is. What a concept --there is a setting that keeps the steam coming without pushing a button !

A good (very) heavy iron. Heats up quickly. It has a tapered tip which is perfect for ironing collars and cuffs. The 'burst of steam' feature is fantastic - sometimes I just use the iron upright to steam clothes, especially pants that might get a 'shine' on them. Works great!

This is also a good iron for sewing and quilting due to its heavier nature, the tapered tip (great for pressing open seams), and the steam function.

I've always had good luck with Black & Decker irons - my last one lasted over 15 years. I highly recommend using only distilled water which may help alleviate any dripping or spotting problems.

The two complaints I have are:
* the awkward "setting dial" which is under the handle and makes it hard to use
* the dark plastic which makes it difficult to see the water level

Otherwise a great iron all around.

I have had this iron for quite a while--in fact, for almost nine years. I really hadn't thought about that until today, when something prompted me to recall purchasing the iron long ago. And so, here is a longtime perspective from one user. This iron has been a workhorse. I have been pleased at its reliability and with the outcome of its use. I really can't complain about its performance, except in one relatively minor matter. The dial on the iron for activating and adjusting the volume of steam is located in such a way that I constantly, unintentionally, and unknowingly bump it. The result most of the time is that I turn off the steam. I have tried to train myself to be aware of this problem, but I have never been able to keep from moving this dial without knowing it. If this easily bumped and moved dial is still on current issue models in the same the way that it is on my own iron, I'd suggest doing something to keep the dial fixed more firmly. BUT, with that said, this has been a great iron and for the price (I seem to recall that I paid more for it than it's selling for now--in fact, about $55--and I have certainly got my money's worth out of it) it is a really great buy. Anyone looking for very good quality at a really great price should give serious consideration to this iron. If it weren't for the steam-dial, this would easily be a 5-star product.

Good iron so far. Purchased a different Black and Decker iron that only lasted me 6 months, so Im hoping this one lasts longer. Product true to description. Easy to use. Not heavy. Easy read digital display. Heats up quickly. I wish that the dark grey area was a tad lighter because that is where the water fill tank is at, and when I fill it up, I have to hold it up to the light more to be able to see where the water level is.

I love this iron! It's been something like 20 years since I've bought an iron. The surface of the one I was using was just worn down, so I wanted to replace it. My how times have changed! I love that you can easily with the push of a button change the fabric type. It holds a good amount of water too. The steam dial is great. The best part though is how fast it heats up and the auto shutoff. I do a lot of quilting and it's nice not to have to turn it off and on between pinning and sewing. If it's shut off by the time I need it again, it's just the push of a button and it's heated back up in 10 seconds. I'm so pleased with this iron!!!

Hello everyone , I am not a regular review writer, but I would like give my cents here .. this steam press did good job. Initially I got scared cause of fumeing out of silver plate ( in the video ) lot of people here might have already experienced that, but nothing to panic .. later afte 20-40 secs fumes vanished and now I can smell something burining inside again I was shocked and almost wanted to turn off but after few secs I did not smell anything. And another thing I noticed is smooth sliding usually preferred while pressing the clothes just like ice skating, but this one was not sure why it’s little rigged to move smoothly ( so the reason for 4 star) . And another observation is leaking water while high steam and making clothes more wet than required this could be not good for some fabrics, how ever we need the steam only with Lenin Fabric so understable and did not bother me much... rest of the functions working perfect. And another reason for 4 star is the power plug .. can be more quality make with this kind of power at 1500 it could melt or can heat up and burn when trying to remove the power plug( this might be happening only when long time useage in Lenin fabric mode)... rest did good job.

I was in the military for 20 years and so I have a lot of experience with ironing my clothes. I have to say that this iron, by far, is the best one I have ever used. It heats up very fast, has a really nice digital display, handles really well and irons great. I also like the little touches like the little bottle that comes with it to fill the iron with water without making a mess. The cord is plenty long and very durable looking, and the iron is very stable when put up on its base. I guess if I had one wish for it, that would be to have the cord not to just come out of the back but to be able to set it to one side so that it doesn't catch on my shirts. That's a little nitpick though and I'm really very happy with this one.
