Digital Body Weight Bathroom Scale from GreaterGoods (Black)

Digital Body Weight Bathroom Scale from GreaterGoods (Black)

Digital Body Weight Bathroom Scale from GreaterGoods (Black)

This is a very sleek scale, the display is hidden till you step on the scale. Unlike my old Thinner scale, you just step on the scale and it begins displaying your weight immediately. I had to tap my old scale to get it to turn on, let it zero, then get on. Withe the Greater Goods Balance model, as soon as you step on, the display reveals itself as it lights up brightly, and displays how much you weigh immediately. After a few seconds of standing still, it will hold your weight. So, really I don't love it since it shows me how overweight I am, but that is the scales job. Accuracy is pretty good, +/- 2-lbs of the thinner model - which one is right? Who knows, probably has to do with the tiles in my bathroom not being perfectly level. But they are both within a couple pounds of what my doctor records me at before she tells me to loose weight.

The big selling points for this scale are:
1) The balance of price and quality. I have a few items from Greater Goods - kitchen scales, blood pressure cuffs, thermometers - and they are all well built devices that were low cost.
2) Design - this scale LOOKS good. It looks modern, high tech, and high quality. If you care about that, this should sell it for you.
3) The display - it's very large, it's got a great backlight so it's easy to read, and when it turns off, it's hidden.

I have been wondering the scale aisle at various retail stores only to find either overpriced, ugly and inaccurate scales. I wanted something beautiful that would look great in my bathroom. This is exactly what fits my style and I could not be happier! The packaging was so easy to open everything was recycleable, no waste at all. The scale came ready to use with a link for instructions if needed, but all you have to do is step on it and be amazed at how beautiful and sleek this scale is. I love the color, the shine and how the display is undetectable when not in use. The numbers are big and I tested it with carrying different objects like a bag of sugar, (5lbs) and a bag of waffle mix (3lbs.) to test for accuracy on back to back tests. This scale passed all my tests with flying colors. Most scales would not and stay stuck in a previous weight. This company makes solid, well designed, functional, easy to use and beautiful products. I'm happy with this purchase and would absolutely recommend getting this if you are looking for accuracy and minimalistic accessories for your bathroom.

This is a surprisingly accurate scale. One way I monitor a chronic health condition is by the daily variations in my weight, so it is very important to me that my bathroom scale is correct down to tenths of a pound. When my previous scale died I went through a few <$100 scales and was disappointed to find the standard performance in that price range includes variations of up to 5 pounds, which is completely unhelpful to someone like me who is smaller-framed, or athletes who mind their weight carefully. I was about to give in and spend a ton of money to get what I needed before I saw the customer ratings on this model. For the price, I was skeptical, but after a week of using it and checking it against standard weights in various sizes, I'm very satisfied. Another note, I have a very small master bath and have to store this scale when it is not in use; I store it flat and pick it up/put it down gently, and it has not required calibration so far, though the owner's manual says you may have to calibrate it if you are moving it around, and tells you how.

I checked my weight on my old scale before putting this one in it's new place, and I'm glad I did. This scale showed I was 12 pounds less than I was! I already knew the reason for it, it was on top of a cross section of 4 bathroom tiles.. I easily fixed this by taking a spare tile (or a new one, very cheap! Same size as the scale), gluing some scrap felt onto the bottom of it (as a buffer), putting that on the floor and the scale on top of the tile. Problem solved in less than 5 minutes!! Now it's 100% reliable and I love it!!! Seriously a great scale, nice big numbers, and weighing myself 10 times in a row I always get the exact same measurement.. Very happy!!

Great, quick reading scale. The only issue I have is that it remembers the weight for a few minutes. For example if you step on it and it reads 182.5 - then you get off, wait a few seconds, get back on - it will "load" and hit the same exact number. So if you think you stepped on it wrong or something and you want a "re-reading" - you have to wait a few minutes so it doesn't remember the last reading. All else is top notch though - nice screen, quick read, no need to wait for anything, the weight comes on right away.

The problem with a new scale is that it is probably more accurate than the 30-yr-old scale I currently use. One of them is off but I don't think it's the new one. Oh well, I wanted an accurate reading and I got it. I was a little concerned because the photo does not really show how bright the display is. I was pleasantly surprised. Even with bad eyesight it was brutally honest and I could read it. Quite happy with my purchase.

The last time I purchased a digital bathroom scale was about seven years ago. I was reasonably impressed with that competitor unit at the time. It died and after doing some research, I settled on the Greater Goods Digital Body Weight Bathroom Scale. Everything about the company and the product line conveyed high quality and value for the consumer. Here are my key observations---

1). I highly recommend this unit.
2) The unit is accurate to one tenth of a pound. (My old unit was accurate to only two tenths of a pound.)
3). As long as you properly zero the unit initially for its internal calibration, measurement repeatability is extremely good. (My old unit wavered as much as a pound.)
4). The low price combined with the very good technology, ease of use, and excellent design lead me to give this a 5-star rating.
5). I continue to be very happy with this unit.
6). Any interactions or phone calls with manufacturer customer service and/or tech support have been excellent. Staff is extremely dedicated and helpful.

I recently found my old scale to be off by as much as 15 pounds when I went to the Dr. I needed something that had a small footprint and found this scale through searching. When I purchased this scale I was over 300 LBS. As of right now I weight less than 300 pounds and there have been no problems with measuring or the device breaking. The description said it will hold up to 400 LBS. The only thing I had to do to make this scale work out of the box was remove the plastic liner holding the battery in place.

A very good choice among many alternatives! After checking several online rating (including Amazon Choice as "most accurate") I narrowed down to about a half dozen well rated scales. While this scale was slightly more expensive than the others I nevertheless choose the Greater Goods scale for several reasons:
- Upon checking Amazon "customer reviews" of the scale I was impressed by the way Greater Goods' customer service carefully and promptly answered every complaint from customers with a phone number to call and/or a suggestion on what to do.
- I called their Customers Service myself before buying with a few questions and received prompt and professional care (almost surprisingly good in this day and age).
- I liked the fact that it took 4 AAA batteries which are easy to find and inexpensive rather than more obscure, expensive types.
- I liked the finer scale reading of one ounce increments ( which when you are thin actually matters).
- I liked the sleek and inconspicuous design.
- And finally, I liked very much their values -- commitment to sustainability's and support of developing countries charities. (I think this is consistent with their seemingly exemplary concern for their customers.)
I am delighted with this scale and consider it good value for the money, for all the reasons above.

It’s very sleek and accurate. I was worried about the scale at first because when I initially stepped on it the scale gave a different reading compared to consecutive times. I looked in their FAQ on their site and found that since the scale uses an auto calibration this can be disrupted by moving the scale. I store my scale on its side, so this was why this was happening. In order to recalibrate the scale, step on it briefly till it measures 0.0lbs - then step on. For me, I just take three readings instead of briefly stepping on it.
