Don't buy the Kenney Chelsea CAFE style if you are doing heavier curtains across a wide window...Chelsea BALL is the thicker stronger model you want! I originally bought the CAFE style not realizing they were using a very thin pole for a 48-96" run! Unless you are only using very light sheer curtains, the BALL style is what you want. It is the thickness and strength you would expect on such a long curtain rod.
Remember, CAFE=Light, Sheer; BALL=Standard, Heavy.
We use this to hang curtains in front our sliding glass doors (see photo). The doors are about 100 inches wide. This rod holds the weight of 2 lined curtains easily and I'm sure it could hold more. It comes with the brackets necessary for hanging and it includes 3 brackets - meaning 1 for each side and 1 for the middle. The middle one is very important when hanging such a long rod and not all rods come with a middle bracket but this one does. Without it, the rod might sag in the middle or fall down under the weight of curtains. The price is good compared to those I've seen at Target etc. in my area (the North East). The ball on the end is small so it's not going to make a grand statement in your room. It's just simple and does the job and that's what I was looking for. It was easy to put up.
these curtain rods are sturdy enough to hold heavy panels. they are very simple and clean looking, unubtrusive. exactly what i was looking for.
I was expecting thin metal tubes and flimsily mounting brackets but both are heavy gauge steel. Just a warning though. The vast majority of pictures of blackout curtains with grommets on Amazon are hung on 1 inch or larger rods. These are only 5/8 of an inch. The curtains won't look quite as cool since the rods will seem too small for the grommets.
Very sturdy not cheaply made.

I used two of these to hand curtains in the dry wall in my apartment, and I'm completely happy with how they've held up. Extreme ease of use is always good, and these fall under that category. You can get them installed in to time, and there's no need for the anchors they include. They're nice to have, though. I wouldn't trust them to bear any weight over ten pounds, so you may want to think twice if you're doubling up on both curtains and lining. However, for basic blackout curtains, these won't let you down!
Just re-decorating our son's room as he's left the nest and we bought all new item's to turn it into a guest room. These rod's are perfect! Look great, easy to install, very durable and we put Blackout curtain's up, which are quite a bit heavier than typical window treatment's, and they are nice and solid! Also comes with 3 bracket's for center support, if you're utilizing the full length of the rod. Great purchase! Very attractive and a great price! Highly recommend these!
I bought the soft brass finish and the color is exactly as I expected. Somewhere between silver and gold.
I took off one star because the balls on the end are plastic... the rod is metal.
Assembly was straightforward and took me roughly 10 minutes.
All the past reviews have covered the details efficiently. They are sturdy for the price but not the best. I purchased 6 sets for my new apartment and the only main complaint I have is the low quality screws. I was able to get them all in but I stripped 2 of them, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to get the rods out at the end of my lease. Other than that, the point both rods connect do make it hard to easily slide the curtains across the entire stretch but someone else mentioned a small piece of black electrical tape fixes the issue. The rods are holding up well and if this review isn't updated, you can assume they have lasted the test of time.
This was the best choice on a budget so I'd recommend taking the chance on this set, despite the significant amount of negative reviews.
I have two sets of these curtain rods which are extended to approximately 44". At that length they start to sag a little in the middle, but it's negligible enough that no one will notice unless they are explicitly looking for it. It seems to be sturdiest from 28"-36".
The included mounting hardware isn't very robust, but for a lightweight curtain like this it should do fine. I still chose to opt for Kwik-Hang curtain rod brackets due to the fact that I didn't need to drill them into the wall unlike the hardware that comes with the rod.
