This mat is just as described, which is great. I was really busy over the holidays and didn't get the time to clean under the mat for a while. When I finally got to it, I was terrified at what I would find growing under it. But there was nothing! No mould! It's been a few months now, and every time I take the mat off to scrub the tub there's still nothing yucky under it. I bought 2 more for later, but now I don't know if I'll ever get to use them because the first one still looks brand new.
This is my second time ordering these slipcovers. They worked so well that first time I ordered a couple of additional ones for our large walk in shower. They performed well except for the very strong plastic odor that lingered for a couple of weeks. Finally I put these in the washing machine on the longest hand wash cycle with detergent, vinegar and fabric softener TWICE. Then I let them air-dry out in the garage. Odor is finally gone and the mats are working perfectly like the original set I bought. They are really long and comfortable to use and easy to clean. Plus color adds some pizazz to boring shower. Rated these a 4 star due to odor that was finally able to get out.
It's a great product that does its job and runs most of the tub. However, I've had for a little over a year and a half and am considering replacing it because the first half of it is turning from blue to pink and the other half is becoming super stiff and isn't sticking as well. I clean it with Ajax/comet once a week and let it air dry, making sure to get soap scum out from around the suckers (which are recessed and difficult to clean).
This has been really nice to have in the shower when I shave my legs. I usually put my foot on the wall of the shower while I shave, and it's nice to not worry about slipping and falling in the shower. The color is nice, too, and hides the ugly scuffed up bathtub floor.
I love this mat, I had some concerns from reading reviews but I'm glad I bought it.

My use.... I use this in my large garden tub only.
Until the water starts to fill the sections don't stick well until some moisture gets in. But once it's set it does not move. It does smell plastic but only if you put it up to your face, other wise I didn't even really notice. During bath time in the water you can't smell at all. After every bath I clean the tub and the mat, I don't leave the mat stuck or suctioned to the tub, like reviews said it damaged their tub after time, I don't know about this. But I love this mat and with care this will last a long time.

This was EXACTLY what I was looking for. I am going with a lighter color bathroom and dark accessories. It fits the tub just right in length and width and sticks very well. I am able to stand on it and not feel like it will move like others I have used. Very easy to clean also. Will use again if ever needed to buy another even nice for housewarming.
We're all reviewing the same mat, right? Some people's sense of smell must be overly acute. Mine had a slight order that's it. It sticks well no problem there either. I just unrolled it & laid it in my tube/shower which is fiberglass. I suppose if you floor is not smooth it could be a problem with any suction cup mat. The part I like it has raised bubbles for your stability. They are a little firm, not real cushy but its kind of a foot massage for the bottom of your feet. I bought it about 3 months ago & appears it will last because it smooth (not slick) vinyl. I may be thrifty but bath mats should last longer than a year.
The ones made of rubber crack & split in about a year. Not to mention they mildew & need constant cleaning. Not this one it stays clean & all i do is pick it up every couple of weeks when I take a shower & put it back in place. I squeegee my shower keep it clean so I'm sure that helps. I bought it on sale for 5 bucks, I like it & its going to last - what a deal!!
We have a 1 year-old who has graduated from whale tub to big boy tub. We wanted to get something that would help him not slip and slide around when playing/bathing. It is long enough to fit the entire length of our tub and stays perfectly still before, during and after baths. We love that it has holes allowing it to drain properly. We have it in blue and my son thinks he is in the sea with all of his sea foam friends floating around in the water with him. It is still pretty new, so we haven't had to pull it off and do a full cleaning, but it seems as if it would be relatively easy to do so. When showering, it helps with traction and I don't feel like I'm slipping around either. I hope anyone who purchases this product as the good luck we have experienced and I hope we continue to have good experiences with this product!
It's beautiful and is the right size.
We got this because the baby was slipping during bathtime, it works great! He is so confidant in the bath now that he will stand up as well as crawl around (when the water's shallow enough). We pull it up after bathtime and let it dry so moisture doesn't linger. All in all it's a great bathmat
