AmazonBasics 400 Thread Count Pillow Cases - Standard, Set of 2, White

I was so disappointed when these arrived because they had a shiny, almost satin, feel to them which was not what I expected at all from the description. I put in for a return, but was advised Amazon would credit my account with no need to return. This is one reason I rave about Amazon. So I threw the pillowcases in with my regular wash and after drying the pillowcases they were soft and lovely, exactly what I had thought they would be originally. So today I messaged Amazon customer service and told them to charge me back because now that I’ve washed them, I love my pillowcases. Be aware if you don’t like sateen pillowcases, a quick wash will make it right!

I bought these to recycle an old feather-bed on which the fabric could no longer accept repair. It would be a shame to discard all of those feathers; they don't even tend to compost well.

So, instead I purchased these cases, transferred feathers over, and sewed them up. This is a job for people with patience, and a place to keep the cat away. Just... have your furry friends rest someplace! The feathers want to be set free, so be prepared for that. I ended up reaching in with a plastic bag to grab them, and moving the bag over to the pillow case. That worked pretty good. There will be a bit of a mess, no matter what you do. It also requires a good washing machine, as re-using old feathers requires a serious cleaning. The cleaning had to take place after the pillows were made, of course. I used detergent, and borax, and washing soda. They came through well, and I have had no trouble with feathers coming through this fabric. That surprised me; I was kicking myself for not getting some additional pillow covers. It seems that I won't need them. It might help that one of the neat things about making your own pillows is that you control how filled they are. I wanted ones that are pretty loose and pliable, to conform wherever they go. That does give the feathers more room, though they still get crushed in there without poking through. Pretty, pretty, pretty good! :) These sewed up easily, too. When I can, I will buy some more and make pillows for others.

Material is great and soft. I ordered Stone grey and it does look lighter in amazon's picture. I feel what I received is slightly darker. But over all great quality and great product. Came nicely packaged too.

Excellent. Nice stitching, just slightly oversized, and thicker than I expected for such inexpensive pillow covers. I bought them for the guest room, but I am now using them for myself on my own bed.

They are not the BEST (I like ones that are slightly softer), however, for the price they cannot be beat.

Acutually I made a mistake and meant to order Queen Size but I guess I ordered the King size and queen sized pillow cases that don’t completely cover them but they work. I never owned kings sized pillows but I am glad I did because I am a disabled veteran of the Vietnam Conflict and suffered some serious injuries to my back and I can turn one of the pillows so I can wrap my leg over it and it reduces the pressure and pain on my back...go figure. However they are not as firm as I need them the be and would work better if they were firmer....

Description

An Amazon Brand.

I ordered this pillow sham hoping it was wide enough to allow Bamboo pillow to expand. I was skeptical, at first, when I opened the package, but was surprised. It actually fits well and is wide enough to expand, and I can truly use the Bamboo pillow as it was intended. I've used for a week, and I'm still satisfied with my purchase.

I had previously ordered a set of queen sheets with pillowcases and new queen size pillows. I loved the sheets, but the pillowcases barely fit my pillows even though I ensured the pillows were queen sized too. The queen cases had a pocket in the end to pull over the pillows, but it was useless as the pillows were just too big and fluffy. Maybe the pillows will compact with some with use, but the pillowcases that were supposed to fit kept slipping off so I ordered these king sized pillow cases.

Even though they were from different manufacturers than the sheets I had previously ordered, the color (dark grey) on these pillow cases matched my sheets close enough. These cases are a little more satiny than those they replaced, but they do dull up some in the wash. My queen sized pillows now stay covered all night long. These cases are large enough so that my pillows stay inside, but not so much as to have a bunch of loose material wrapping around my head.

My queen pillowcases are 2' 5" long. These king cases are 3' 4 " long. I went ahead and measured the length of my pillows too. 2' 5". Exactly the length of my queen cases. No wonder they won't stay on. Weird. The sheets fit my queen bed perfectly.

I realize that my review might make some people concerned about these pillowcases being the proper size and hesitant to order them, but I suspect that my queen sized pillowcases were just too small. Else I just got huge queen sized pillows.

I can't say anything bad about these cases and would not hesitate to order again.

I bought a mattress that came with two king size pillows. I didn't have king sized pillow cases. This are very nice, comfortable, fit great, and pretty. Will buy another pair so I have a spare set for my pillows.

After having bought several sets of bedsheets over the years I became a little tired with what seemed like crazy costs at the local home goods store. AmazonBasics to the rescue! When I opened these up I was surprised at the quality feel of the fabric, it definitely didn't feel cheap. And they were every bit if not more comfortable than ones I had spend much more on. Because of the hair products I use and the warm Arizona summers my white pillowcases don't always look so white. Now with these replacing them will no longer feel so expensive.

When I ordered this, I just wanted something low quality to come in the mail. It was a bit darker grey than I had hoped, but the quality of fabric was a pleasant surprise. It didn’t match my bedding, but I kept them anyway and used them in a different room. They were too nice to send back. They were a little longer than a queen sized pillow but I like how it covers so you don’t actually see the Pillow inside. It has a nice decorative “hotel” like trim at the end. Nicer than Walmart’s standard pillow case for sure.
