I am so happy with this purchase. It is exactly what I was looking for. My shower/tub unit is a death trap. I think the unit was made with some extra slick polymer. I started out using those peel and stick grippers. Those loosen over time and they leave a lot of exposed space. And they are a pain in the butt to apply and especially to remove. I also tried one of those solid rubber mats. It was okay but I did not like the look.
I just happened upon the Gorilla Grip mat on Amazon. I liked that it was clear, making it unobtrusive in the shower. I also like that it has holes in it for water to drain through. I think this keeps the mat cleaner and fresher between cleaning days. But most importantly, this baby can grip! The suction cups are super powerful. And there are 324 of them! This mat will not slip and slide in the tub. However, it will pull up easily when it is time to clean. You do need to press on each suction cup for the best results. I find that pressing on a few of them with my hands to anchor the mat and then walking on the rest is an efficient way to set the mat in place. Another nice feature is that liquid soap, shampoo, and conditioners do not make the surface of the mat slick. I highly recommend this product for all ages and levels of gracefulness.
My husband is a doctor and always wants me to use a bath mat because he worries about slipping in the tub. I hated them, until now. I have used and tossed so many bath mats over the years. Most of them get moldy and gross so quickly. And they always look so ugly. This one is the best I have used. Here is what I love, it’s simple. It attaches quickly, it covers most of the tub, the holes in it allow the water to escape so mold doesn’t form, it’s machine washable (huge plus), it looks nice (not a 1950’s design), and a great warranty. They included instructions for how to attach and to clean (I have included a photo). I think this will be the last bath mat I ever buy!!
It seems that the old-style rubber mats are unavailable; at least, I can't find them. As a result, the GORILLA GRIP (R) is my third bath tub mat after buying brands that either don't stick or are as slick to walk on as the tub surface (and then some). This one, however, is a definite keeper. I bought the clear one, and the top surface is textured in a way that I could dance in the shower if I wanted to (which I don't actually plan to do). And, in spite of the fact that my tub has textured stripes, the suction cups are so plentiful and secure that it adheres well immediately after laying it down on a wet tub and pressing slightly, and I feel perfectly safe. Looks like I'm done shopping for bath tub mats!
I read another review that said something about the initial smell. Yes, when you open the package, there is a bit of a normal plasticky smell, but it goes away immediately.
This works very well for us. Our tub has a slight texture on the bottom, which is not an issue for this mat considering the large amount of suction cups. The only complaint that my wife had was that it had a potent vinyl smell for the first week or two of use. It didn't bother me, but I definitely noticed it.
I would recommend pulling it up often to rinse and let dry.

My wife and I purchased this particular bath mat because our nine-month-old son loved to fall over in the tub; regardless of how close you watched. The Gorilla Grip bath mat was, and currently is, the most reasonably priced, yet best reviewed, we could find. I received my box around 17:00 EST (5:00 PM). I was shocked that the package was so small. I genuinely believed it hadn't arrived.
I proceeded to unpack the mat. The very first thing I noticed was a massive ten-year warranty label! That's awesome! Then came the opening/placing of the mat itself. I followed the instructions, but before that, I had actually completed the instructions out of common sense. I laid the mat down. It immediately gripped the floor of our bathtub. There appeared (and looked) to be about one billion suction cups on this thing. There are a lot.
I decided to test this mat when my son woke up from his nap. He loved to play with it (previously his favorite toy was the drain plug), which was a big relief compared to that darn plug. I let him play in his bath with his toys for about twenty minutes. His butt didn't move an inch! He stayed in place, and I sighed a massive sigh of relief. My life is peaceful now. I just showered before writing this review, and I can honestly say that it helps with minor slips in the shower...even for adults.
I wrote this review using past tense because this mat has changed everything. We have owned it only a few hours. I love it. My wife loves it. You will love it.

Absolutely loved this bath mat!! I have used a couple different ones that I have just bought from target or babies r us and this one is ten times better. Definitely great price and nice to have. Suction cups stick easily and the mat doesn't move. I also really like that there are holes to make sure water doesn't get caught underneath. I included a photo of what I was using before that was decently nice but the suction cups were a pain to stick to the tub.
This bath may truly has hundreds of suction cups. This covers the majority of the tub bottom. It is super easy to place, move and remove. It stays put! I had one with less suction cups and it slid when I was standing on one foot shaving my legs. This does not move a millimeter! Highly recommend.
This is a very, very good bathmat; a little longer than most and more tightly held to the tub, both of which are important for the safety of my husband, who has poor sensation in his feet. I have two (mats, not husbands...), so that I can have one in the tub when I put the other one in the washing machine. Soap scum eventually clouds the clarity of the mat and makes it very slightly less secure underfoot, so every month or two I wash it on the delicate cycle with cool water, a mild detergent, and an old t-shirt or towel added to the load so that a little abrasion will help to clean it.
What do you say about a bathtub mat? What I say about this one is that it is perfect! Long size covers most of the length of a standard tub and it STICKS! I've had it for awhile now and it has yet to budge at all. It's soft and comfortable to stand on and my feet stay secure. Not once have I felt like I slipped on it. Be safe and get one of these!
I bought this after my family member slipped and fell in the shower, the morning after I washed my hair oil treatment out in the tub.
I like that it has suction cups on the bottom so it doesn't slide around (i have experience slipping in the tub WITH the bath mat because it wasn't stuck to the tub), and it's raised bumpy features provide a good grip on your feet as well as feeling like a massage on my feet. It's a bit sticky (not gross sticky, but like providing grip, imagine trying to slide a silicone phone case across your skin or clothes), so even when I wash my oil out on it it doesn't get slick and slippery.
It has holes so that water can pass through and not get trapped & grow mold, so even though I haven't had it for long, I could tell that this will last me a long time.
After i take a shower I just unstick it from the tub (this part is fun/kind of satisfying?) and put it on the side to drain and dry.
