My doctor wanted me to get away from eating so many carbs for breakfast (I’m a cereal everyday kind of girl). I also work out nearly everyday, so I’m in need of fuel, and a Flight Attendant, so I’m in need of quick and easy. This product delivers all of the above. I’ve been using it as a breakfast meal replacement and I’ve been impressed by how long it actually holds me over. When I’m flying I pack enough powder for my trip and my blender cup, and can sip it while I get ready for work. At home I sit and enjoy it with my coffee, then work out. Convenience wise, this stuff is awesome! I do add a little cinnamon to it for extra flavor. On a side note: I do have to continue to shake the blender bottle in between sips due to settlement on the bottom.
Taste: my first purchase was the vanilla and it’s good! It’s not the most amazing thing I’ve had in my life, but it’s not bad at all. Besides cinnamon I only add water. It’s creamy and not gritty. I love that it has loads of protein in it too. It’s very comparable to Shakeology (I think it may have more protein and less carbs than shakeology). I love Shakeology, but not the price. For a month, they’re wanting $130. Sorry, but it’s not worth paying that much for essentially the same product. I will be buying this product again, next time I’m going to try the chocolate. I do wish they had more flavors though!
I've used this protein powder for years and I like it because it doesn't congest the system like many whey proteins do. It's also naturally sweetened, no maltitol or other artificial sweeteners. I blend it with frozen berries, coconut milk and water (sometime through in a little yogurt) and it tastes great. I use it for part of my breakfast a few times a week, along with a small bowl of quinoa, maple syrup and walnuts. If you just want to drink it with water you're going to have to gulp it down, but a few very small healthy additions makes it great. As the author of a book on nutrition and weight loss, I highly recommend this product!!
I don't do so well with most protein powders because I'm lactose intolerant and they mostly give me horrible gas. I was excited to give this one a shot as the ingredient label seemed very different from all the others in that it is plant protein and not whey. I did notice that it is made in the same place as whey proteins but was hopeful that it would be different and not give me the negative effects of other whey proteins. I will say this, I still experienced some gas. It was not as severe as it would have been with whey but it was noticeable. As far as the protein and it's positive effects I was very pleased. I consumed it mid morning usually right after a workout and on some days again in the afternoon between lunch and dinner as a snack. It wasn't the best flavor but it was still pretty good and seemed to mix quite easily in a shaker. Simple directions, simple ingredient panel, and simple to drink. It seemed to work very well as fuel for my muscles and helped with recovery. I was glad to have tried it and pleased with the results, other than the gas, but that is not a fault of the company. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a good protein source without a bunch of filler.
A month ago, I started on a diet which aimed to get rid of my moodswings by cutting down on my sugar consumption. I thought I'd be gritting my teeth through it, but to my surprise it was pretty easy, and it's working! (The diet, BTW, is in the book "Potatoes Not Prozac," which I highly recommend for people like me.)
The diet required me to eat a solid amount of protein with a solid amount of whole-grain carbs, in order to keep my blood sugar stable. I didn't want to eat eggs or cottage cheese every single morning for the protein, so I bought this protein powder. The first day I tried it, I thought I'd have to "put up" with the slight sweet aftertaste. But after a few more days, I didn't even notice it, and now I crave it the moment I wake up. It tastes great, it's filled with wonderful stuff, and my body takes it in with a contented aahhh, rather than the sugar zoom I used to feel with my first-thing-in-the-morning orange juice. (And no, I never wanted to eat an orange instead of drinking it.)
Now I don't even miss the orange juice because this powder gives me enough of a sweet taste to satisfy me. A 10-ounce serving contains only 2 grams of sugar. (In case you didn't know, 4 grams of sugar = 1 teaspoon.) There's also some stevia in it, but the sugar seems to have taken away stevia's notorious bitter aftertaste.
I continue eating solid protein with solid whole grain carbs for my other two meals, and my sugar craving has diminished incredibly. I'm no longer addicted to sugar, and my mood has mellowed out throughout each day.
I tried a similar protein powder with even higher reviewer ratings than this one, which has no sugar at all; it uses a sugar alcohol. But it didn't taste nearly as good to me. So I'm happily sticking with this one.
I bought this because I got tired of paying for the small, expensive, pre-made, big name diet shakes from the store. It seems to have somewhat similar nutritional content looking mainly a the carb counts.
If you follow the directions the results may be so-so. I found it to be horrible tasting, with a weird aftertaste and very chalky/gritty. The 4-lb. cannister is HUGE and has a lot of servings so I had to find a way to drink it given the cost. Just couldn't toss it in the trash. (The shaker bottle is nice, but doesn't work that well.)
I found a way that if I take:
--- two cups of unsweetened vanilla almond "milk"
--- two cups of strong brewed cold coffee
--- two scoops of the protein powder
Place in blender, mix well, and let it sit in the refrigerator for a day, it is much more palatable. It makes about three decent sized servings. I've also substituted some of the coffee with ice for a same-day frozen smoothie and it seems to work well also.
Out of the package, I would give this two stars, with some creative additions, I'll go with a 4.

AMAZING! The chocolate both stirs & blends really well. The vanilla stirs ok & blends really well. I've had them both hot & cold. They taste good either way. If you can't give up coffee, try that as your liquid & pour it over the protein powder. You're welcome. Chocolate tastes like tasty chocolate milk like brands you'd find in a grocery store. The vanilla is really good too & I love it blended with frozen fruit & water. It's summer now & I've pretty much been living on these. They keep me full & they taste good & blend really well. For plant based protein, I was impressed. this is a soy-free brand that I'm loving. My grocery store started selling this brand & I was super excited because I ran out. Now I have 2 places to get this brand. I'll buy on amazon more often because I can get the 4lb container.
As my family gets bigger, and my career becomes more demanding, finding hours a day to spend at the gym has become more difficult. I learned a long time ago that protein is essential to any diet, and especially to the diet of someone who is trying to build muscle. Although I am no longer trying to bulk up, I know I still need my daily in take of protein. I continued to drink my normal protein shakes for a while, but wanted to look for a more daily health oriented and better tasting way to supplement my protein intake. After trying a few others, I've narrowed it down to Purely Inspired Organic Protein Powder as my go-to for supplementing protein in my diet. It's actually enjoyable to drink, and being organic eases my mind about any potentially harmful chemicals.
Let me see..it's organic and it's plant protein. It also has fiber and a serving of veggies, which are always good.
The taste? Eh...it's not bad. I only buy the French Vanilla one so I can't tell yall about the other flavors. I either use almond milk by itself, or blend it with chia seeds, flax seeds, and shredded coconut. Be advised that when you blend this, it gets REALLY thick. Like you can almost chew it (which works for me).
I drink this on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at work. On those days I go walking during lunch and drink it from those shaker containers. It leaves me full so that I don't snack too much on all those darn snacks in our "junk food drawer" at the front desk :)
I tried this product as part of a free trial period and was pleasantly surprise with the product. First, it mixes well, much better than my typical whey protein. It has great consistency and you cannot beat the health benefits it offers. If you are looking to tone your lean muscles then go for it. I consider myself a meat/potatoes type of guy and so I do not typically venture into unknown flavors such as this. It has a very different taste that your typical whey blends, and for me it was a bit too strong but not overwhelming. I definitely recommend the product for those who consume organic products on a regular basis or those looking to get a little bit more than just protein value. I consume protein specifically for the protein per gram value so this one is not for me, but I would definitely still recommend to those whose goals this product does meet.
4 stars because it does what is advertised, and there are no crazy ingredients or chemicals. This includes that there is *no* dairy - that was addressed.
Not 5 stars, because the mix leaves something to be desired. The taste is ok, and not too sweet; which is good, that means no sugar or sugar alcohols. But man, this stuff is DRY. You can't mix it with a shaker, it comes out very chalky. I've been using a blender, and it still has a chalky taste.
Even using this in my protein bar recipe really dried them out. They were fudge-y, but with this, they are more like brownies.
But in general, the taste and quality is worth the really good price. I'll figure out recipes and how to get this mixed.
