There is no kind way to start this review so I'm just going to be blunt because you deserve blunt in mattress buying - it is SO important to be clear because a good/bad mattress GREATLY impacts your life! So here we go with the blunt - are you ready?! We're short, fat people. No. Really! About 100lbs overweight each. Don't judge - we have our reasons & I'm not sharing to open myself up to ridicule + with the New Year we are committed to losing! So why do you need to know we're fat, short people?! So you will know that because of our sizes we have really put this mattress through a workout since we bought it in August...and it is FABULOUS!!! I'm a side then move to back sleeper & my husband is a back sleeper & we both sleep like the dead in this bed! The bed is NOT hot, when we climb in (hello- we're short gotta climb!) we can tell there are springs, but when we lay down we don't feel them (no poking, etc.), and overall our bodies just feel well supported in a not too firm way! To think we bought this as a temporary bed - just to have since we moved 2200 miles & weren't taking our old mattress with us. We figured after we found a house to buy we'd upgrade - found the house faster than we planned & now this bed is coming from our temporary apartment to our house!!! With the outlay of so much money updating the house it's nice to not have to invest in a new bed!
Just to give you a comparison - previously we had the Lucid 10" (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00478U768/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1) which at the time we spent $349 on & is now priced at $287 as it should rightfully be priced less than this bed because the Lucid SUCKED! It was comfortable for about the first 6 months & then it started forming a divot in the shape of our bodies & gotta say - even when you are the person making the divot you still don't want a fat person divot in your bed! The Lucid was also REALLY hot - we would sweat on a winter's night while it was raining outside & the inside of our house was never warmed to more than 68°F! The divot also affected smoochy-smoochy time (divots are REALLY not conducive to that!). We kept the Lucid for about 18 months after we were both disgruntled with it because we knew we were moving & wanted to move small. For the last 6 months I didn't even sleep with my husband. I slept in this recliner (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002WGJHHW/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1) in the living room & got WAY better sleep in a cheapo (yet fabulous) recliner that's NOT made for fat people than I ever did in the Lucid!
Bottomline - this fat lady has sung! Mattress buying is over! If we need another mattress at some point we'll be buying this one again! Already decided to buy the Queen size for our guest room & the 8" Twin for our children! I feel like Oprah - guests get a Zinus, children get a Zinus, everyone (in our family) gets a Zinus! Now that you're done reading my review - YOU go get yourself a Zinus!!!
Absolutely Loved it. Awesome Mattress at such a low price. This Hybrid mattress was delivered in my time and it just took 2 hours to expand to its full form. I am 6'4" and 235 pounds weight. In the past i bought foam only mattress that gave me a lot of back pain. But now after buying this hybrid mattress with innerspring and foam as top layer my back pain is gone. I highly recommend this mattress. Being a contractor i move a lot in the US. And of course will save this mattress and will buy it again if i move to a new place Lol.

Pros:
First of all, this mattess got delivered on time (i couldve gotten it in sunday before memoreal day but i wasnt able to let the delivery person in).
Easy, intuitive packaging is also a plus. To elaborate more, i really likee hoe Zinus put easy to read warnings and alerts in every packagig materials (cardboard box, plastic covers, etc)
So last night was the first night i slept on it (since i got it yesterday). Guess what, i almost missed work today. Im not a deep sleeper (or perhaps i just never met a good mattress for me till now!) but this morning i couldnt get my body out of the bed because my back melted into the mattress. Its whole lot different experience than one you get from using memory foam mattress (i been usig memory foam mattress before i got this zinus hybrid (but the term hybrid is kinda missreading because it might just feel like a spring mattress to a memoryfoam user like me). Anyhow, now i just need to figure out how to wake up in the morning.
Cons (very minor)
Although i really liked the overall packaging, i couldnt believe that the manual showing how to unroll the super-pressured rolled up mattress is only accessible once you unroll the mattress.
Chemica odor that fills up your room the moment you unroll the mattress. I understand its inevitable but if somethings done to reduce that, itd be hreat.
Besides these minor issues, i really enjoyed the entire experience with Zinus and will definitely recommend it to my friends/family.
My fiance and I needed a new mattress badly and needed something that could be delivered quickly after our puppy had an accident that left our old one smelly! I was very skeptical about ordering a mattress from Amazon without testing it out first, but I must say I am impressed. The package arrived on time, and with no issues. The mattress pops out of a box you'd never think could hold something so large, but once opened it takes the shape of a full size mattress without any creasing or rips in the material. The mattress was the correct size and inches as described and fit our bed perfectly. There was no noticeable smell, and is actually really comfortable. Neither of us can feel when the other moves around which is nice since im a light sleeper. It actually feels like a more expensive brand! Surprisingly we have been sleeping so well since using it its hard to believe the price. If you are looking for an inexpensive alternative to a brand name mattress i'd def recommend.
This queen mattress was purchased for our guest bedroom. It is labeled and part spring, part Memory Foam. It’s definitely mostly spring with just some coushion on the top (like a traditional mattress). HOWEVER, this is an incredibly comfortable mattress regardless of what it’s made out of! I was expecting a mattress similar to an old pullout couch. It’s a standard mattress thickness and incredibly comfortable. We put a mattress pad on it (only because we already had the mattress pad) and it made it even more comfortable, but definitely not necessary.
I will definitely be buying this again when the time comes!

Just stop- there's absolutely no need to bother reading these reviews. Just buy this mattress! You're here because you want a cheap mattress that's at least somewhat comfortable, right? This is almost that-except it's freakishly comfortable. I got this for my son because I'm cheap and kids are brutal on furniture. Since we got it, I keep accidentally falling asleep next to him at bedtime. We've had it for about a month now (so, in toddler Time that's about 64,000 jumps) and it's holding up wonderfully.
As if that wasn't enough (and it really should be-seriously, why are you still reading? Add to cart and be done with it), setting it up was so much fun! It makes these super cool.sounds as it unrolls and expands. My son and I had a blast with it even before he tried it out!
I cannot give this mattress enough stars. I'm planning on getting myself one (in a bigger size lol). It's awesome, buy it now!!!!!
I purchased the 8 in mattress and I'm really impressed with how comfortable it is...firm yet padded. I've had it a little over a year and there are no swayed or sunk in sections on this mattress. I'm glad i didn't get discourage by the smell but be aware that there is a STRONG chemical like smell (possibly the hybrid green tea). I aired it out a minimum of 3 days(window opened and bedroom door closed) before I was able to be IN the bedroom AND sleep on it. After that it still had a slight scent for about a week that I could smell while laying on it (not enough that kept me from sleeping soundly on it) There is no smell anymore just a truly comfortable mattress that I enjoy.
One other thing... While it was airing out on the box spring it had time to "fluff" up to its full queen size, It is shipped rolled up and compacted into a box.
Very please with my recent purchase. I have been using the same mattress for years and it was time for a new one. It arrived in 2 days and was quickly put into use. The box spring is topped with a foam layer but it is not too soft. I like my mattresses more on the firm side so this was perfect. Great quality for the price and would definitely recommend.
I researched for months before buying a new mattress. I went to 5 or 6 different stores, some dedicated to selling only mattresses, some that sold everything else. I spent hours reading and watching reviews, comparing prices, and stressing over which mattress to invest in. My old mattress was firm. Not just “oh it’s supportive but comfortable”. No, firm like comparable to sleeping on the floor. I woke up with sore hips and aching back every morning. My arms would fall asleep and I’d wake up with pins and needles. I couldn’t even lay on my stomach.
I ordered this mattress (12 inch euro box top hybrid queen size) on a Sunday, it was delivered on Tuesday afternoon. I set it up myself and it was expanded to the full 12 inches within hours. I slept on it that night. I didn’t want to get up in the morning. I’ve been having that issue every morning since. I make excuses to lay in bed now, when I used to avoid my bed. I still cannot believe how comfortable this bed is, especially for the price. Based on how comfortable this mattress is, you’d guess it would cost over $1,000. It’s honestly the best purchase I’ve made in years.
We were desperate for a mattress and low on funds so we ordered this one. I'm so glad we did! The mattress is comfortable and supportive. We will have to get a box spring, but that has more to do with the style of bed we have than the mattress itself. I think it would be fine on its own as long as the surface it's on is supportive. It had a wonky spot from where it was rolled up, but I think it has fluffed out to its true mattress shape. I don't expect this to last a long time, but it's a good start for those that can't spend hundreds on a mattress. I'm happy with this purchase.
