I purchased two sets of the 33 foot (100 Leds) TaoTronics lights for my teenage daughter's bedroom. She has a tropical theme and wanted the lights installed along her ceiling. I secured the lights by simply using clear plastic pushpins/thumbtacks into the edge where the ceiling meets the wall. Because they are clear, everyone asks, "How did you attach them?" At the time, they did not have the 66ft version, so I used two 33ft lengths. Although each set of lights has its own infrared receiver, both sets of lights can be controlled by a single remote. We typically leave them on with a steady glow, but there are many different options (intensity, flashing, etc). Overall, we're very satisfied with the lights and many of my daughter's friends want to do the same in their room.

I am revising my review as the seller has upgraded the controller and it no longer over heats. This really is a cute string of lights and the remote is VERY convenient. The new controller is black, so if you have or receive the old white controller, make sure to feel it as it's plugged in to see if it gets hot. If the controller overheats, the sting will fail at the least and melt at the worst. Their customer service is very responsive and attentive. They made it right for me.
The remote didn't work at first but the seller replaced the remote and receiver and they work great now. I'm very happy with the product and especially the customer service.

1-Connected everything but it's not working?
The lights need to be turned on with the Remote. Notice: Please use with the Remote pointing to the remote receiver.
2-Can you shorten the lights?
NO! Cutting the lights damages the product as the end of copper wires is welded; it also voids your product warranty.
3-Can i connect these to a timer?
No. The LED string lights need to be turned on with the remote, so we do not suggest to use it with timer.
4-Is it safe to touch? or to hang on curtains or trees?
Yes! The copper wire comes with insulation coating and is safe to touch; low heat emission LEDs are free of fire hazards.
5-My dog chewed up the remote, where can I buy a replacement?

They function perfectly, and are so pretty. I love the wire as opposed to the plastic. I put them in a large jar and they spread out (and up) better than the old, plastic coated strand did.
These lights are wonderful! My initial idea was regular holiday tree light, but they were too bulky and heavy....So I found these! They are light-weight, beautifully lit and just great with the remote control for power and display options. They are so thin and light they are invisible in the canopy. The perfect back- light for a tween on her Ipad. Love-em! and the price is very reasonable.
These lights are bright and work well with the different modes on the remote, but I think the description of them as being "weatherproof" is misleading. The package materials say "water resistant". And the wires connecting the lights to the power source, and the power source itself, would not be safe to plug in outdoors during bad weather. I originally purchased these for my condo balcony, but I would not feel safe leaving them plugged in outside.
Also, these lights are very small, each about the size of a pencil eraser, not sized like you might expect in Christmas lights. Not a problem considering their size, but good to know.

TaoTronics contacted me after I posted this review with an offer to refund or replace with a larger string of lights to make things right. I declined the very generous offer considering there isn't anything wrong with the product and I can use what I bought for something creative inside. That's great customer service to make the offer they did though, and I'm updating my star rating from 3-4 because of it.
I highly recommend these LED lights with adjustable brightness. You can have exactly the amount of brightness you want across a selectable range, from dim to very bright. These LEDs have no flickering at all that I can see. The color of the lights appears warm to me, not stark white. I have them strung in a 7-foot silk bamboo tree, and it's plenty of length and LEDs. I really like how small these lights are and how the thin wire becomes almost invisible in the tree. The uploaded photo shows the lights set at 40% in a room with fairly low lighting. The only improvement I can think of for the design is to increase the range of the remote control. I have to walk up within a few feet of the IR receiver for it to pick up the signal.
They look beautiful and work very well. I have two sets and both can be controlled by one remote, which is great. A little difficult to untangle at first if you're by yourself and you weren't careful taking them out of the box...but then easy to hang and shape. The copper is definitely more a rose gold type copper than a brassy copper, I got tiny copper nails from Lowes to hang them up that match perfectly. The versatility in brightness is great, I haven't found much use for the slow fade or flashing functions, I wouldn't recommend the flash function unless you were throwing a rave, hanging them in a window/outside for holidays, or trying to give yourself a seizure. The pictures show the lights at 100% brightness, which is bright enough light to read by, but still great, soft light. Warning- if you plug them in while they're still bunched up to check they work, dim them before staring at them at 100%, it's extremely intense...but once they're stretched out, 100% is lovely.
