WOW!! This is one fabulous vacuum! I use it daily to combat the cat litter and hair and dirt and dust bunnies and random filth that 3 cats and 4 kids bring into my house in unbelievable quantities. But mostly the cat litter. And this little vacuum rocks! The lithium ion battery has a great life, and will last for 2 or 3 10-12 minute dirt-busting sessions. I am a vacuum snob, and have tried MULTIPLE vacuums (uprights and canister and hand-helds, bagged and bagless). I absolutely LOVE this vacuum. Total epitome of "bang for your buck", and so far, has been able to keep up with the nastiness on my floors. Oh! It rocks on hardwood, low pile carpet, normal shortish length carpet, and tile. I mean, I am nearly in love with this vacuum. Really. Give it a try. I honestly don't think you can go wrong with it.
I replaced the smaller, corded pet hair eraser with this and I’m so glad I did. This is an amazing little vacuum. Previously, my issue was primarily cat hair on a dark brown sofa. But then we adopted a rescue pup who is a big shedder and can’t seem stay off the sofa. The smaller vacuum just wasn’t cutting it but this one has been a godsend. I see other reviews complaining about battery life. This morning I vacuumed our sofa (a large sectional), two arm chairs and six dining room chairs as well as the first four carpeted stairs and the battery lasted. I stopped because I ran out of time, not battery. I also keep it plugged in and stored in a bench because I’m grabbing it at least twice a day to keep up with the hair on the sofa. And I love that there is no cord!
I bought this to vacuum the stairs in our house. We have two pugs, and I didn’t vacuum the stairs that long ago, and it filled the compartment. It does seem to take awhile to charge, but once it is, it is worth it!
My NEW best friend!!! I read the reviews before ordering this as I was leary... but I absolutely LOVE this thing!
Works amazingly on the sofa after my 2 long hair cats roll all over it. Way easier than fifty sheets off the lint rollers.
I've never had a problem running out of battery. I even vacuumed the stairs with ease. Can't say I was using it for more than 30 minutes but the battery never died on me. After I use it, I plug it in say over night, then put it in the closet till I need it again for a quick clean up of the sofa. No regrets or complaints as of yet. Easy to use, easy to open and dump out. I use my other vacuum with attachment to suck up all the dust off the filter and it's good to go.
I love this little vacuum so far. I use it to clean up excess cat hair on the furniture and to pick up stray pieces of litter from when the cats kick it out of the litter box. It’s stronger and much more convenient than using the hose on the upright vacuum we have (I can’t say whether or not that applies in other instances). My only gripe so far is that I wish it had longer battery life. I use it for maybe 5 minutes a day and had to recharge it within a week of the last charge. That would mean I get ~35 minutes on a full charge. I’d be fully satisfied if it something like 1-2 hours of usage on a full charge.

If I could know this thing would have a nice, long life, I'd be giving it five stars.
I have carpeted stairs, and in my five years living here, I've never found the solution to cleaning them quickly, thoroughly, and easily - until now! Charged this bad boy up, went to town on the steps with the motorized brush attachment, and in under five minutes, they were cleaner than they've been since I moved in (and the vacuum's canister had the cat hair to prove it). I immediately moved on to my guest bathroom, which houses my cats' litter boxes. Yes, that means loose litter is tracked everywhere and knocked into corners and baseboards; all were easily cleaned up with the included crevice tool.
Seriously, I am the world's lousiest/laziest housekeeper, and I'm not exaggerating when I say this thing could revolutionize the tidiness of my home. I've already recommended this powerful sucker (pun totally intended) to about six different people today, the vacuum's first day in my house, and now I'm recommending it to you.
I use a hand vac almost daily to clean up after my 4 dogs and all hardwood or tile floors so need a reliable machine to keep up with the hair, dirt and toy stuffing they produce. When my old favorite vac died recently, I tried an unfamiliar brand and decided to return it when it just wasn't adequate to keep up with the demands at my house. I've had this Bissell vac for about a week now and I'm in love! The motor is quiet but suction is strong and maintains throughout the life of the battery. The battery has lasted long enough to go around all the baseboards and living room furniture with battery power to spare. The dust bin is large enough to hold plenty of hair and toy fluff and the clear casing lets me see when it is getting full. The double-layer design of the filter allows the suction power to be maintained throughout use without having hair clog it up and limit suction. The attachments can be linked together to make them reach farther which is a clever bonus. However, I haven't tried the power brush yet. I would say the only change I would like to see would be a wall-mount charging base so the machine would be easier to store in my closet. Haven't had it very long so I'm hoping the battery charging life lasts a long time :0)
Okay, I just got it in yesterday, and I charged it over night.
I just did my main stairs. They are way overdue, and I have a thick shedding dog and I shed, myself. I only had to empty it once mid-way, once at the top, and then I emptied it after using the crevice tool to get the corners before putting it away for the day. Mind you, I probably didn't need to empty it so many times, either. The clear window is sooooooooo nice so you can see how full it is and the power really creates a cyclone inside the canister! I think a notable trait to mention is also that the exhaust fan that blows on the outside, next to the handle, blows cold air! My regular vacuum blows such hot air that I end up sweating when I use it, especially when doing the stairs. Not anymore!
Attachments: The motorized brush head is easy to remove (press in the latch button and pull the head off while pressed). It is a small brush and has a fairly wide boarder around the brush which I thought would make coverage difficult.. but it surprisingly did an excellent job on my stairs, only leaving the corners to be used with the crevice tool. The crevice tool is kind of hard to put in all the way, and even harder to remove, but I'm sure I'll get better at it with time. I did not try the upholstery tool, but like the crevice tool, it's kind of hard to get it in and out. The crevice and upholstery tools do not have release latches like the motorized brush head. Also, there's not on board storage for these tools, but that helps keep the machine low profile.
Cleaning the machine: Opening the canister is so easy, and removing the filters to dump is great. 3 filters in all. One on the battery side, and double filter inside the canister. They are really easy to "clean" by taping them on the inside of your trash can and all the dirt will fall off. You can even rinse off the filters when you are done for the day, and leave them to air dry before putting into the machine for the next use. But the feature I'm REALLY EXCITED ABOUT is that you can open the motorized brush head to get to the brush so you can remove all the hair that gets stuck on it (other hand held's I've tried don't have that option). You don't even need a screwdriver, just a coin or even a house key might work (haven't tried it--but I'm sure if you angle it just right...).
Battery and Power: I ran the vac for 30 minutes and it's still as powerful as the first minute. I don't have the time to run it til it dies to check the battery life, but if I can do one flight of stairs with no worries, I'm a happy camper.
Noise: It's a vacuum for pete's sake. It's comparable noise to all other vacuums I've had, so nothing to write home about. My dog's still a skittish wimp when it's running, like all other vacuums I've had. It's not an issue, though as I don't vacuum when people are sleeping or using the phone, and my dog would just be in the way anyway.
I really hope that this beautiful machine holds up to 2 flights of stairs every week and maybe other things.. like my mom-van. ^_^
I have two cats and live in a carpeted apartment. Needless to say, cat hair can be found in various random locations that cannot be easily accessed with a big vacuum. This BISSELL cordless vacuum is one of the best purchases I've ever made. It is so easy to use and the suction is powerful and really gets into the nooks and crannies my bigger vacuum cannot. One caveat: charging the vacuum takes a very long time and battery life is somewhat short. Other than that, great product and really
I have used a good amount of different rechargeable handheld vacuums and this Bissell is one of the best I have tried. I purchased this vacuum for the pet hair feature and I can say out of the handhelds, both cordless and corded, that I have owned it is at the top. I have used this on my furniture, vehicle, stairs and spot cleaning and have not been disappointed in the vacuum's ability to get the hair and dirt. I am also impressed with the current battery life, I am able to get a good 20 minutes of vacuuming in before I notice a drop off in suction power. I am curious about how long this battery will continue to be this good and if suction issues will arise down the line but at this point, I really like the vacuum.
Now on to the one issue I have, I am not sure if this occurs on every one of the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser vacuums or just this one. When in use if you touch the power button or are close to it, it will give you a small static shock. It is not painful, feels just like any other static shock, but it will continue to happen during the usage of this vacuum. I have just made sure not to have any fingers near the power button while in use.
Other than that issue I really like this vacuum, if any issues arise I will update this review.

5 month review
This little vacuum is still doing an amazing job. I use it at least twice a week on furniture, stairs, and the car. The battery life is still great so far and I have yet to notice any suction loss. The static shock still occurs, I decided to test it on just wood floors, concrete, etc to see if I was building up a static shock on the carpets only, unfortunately the power button will shock you no matter what I am using it on. Still a minor inconvenience overall.
