Guinea Pig Fleece Cage Liner for Midwest Habitat | Guinea Pig Bedding | Guinea Pig Fleece | Feathers

So I decided to switch over to a fleece liner instead of using the paper bedding for our guinea pig. At first I didn’t like it, maybe that’s because vacuuming it didn’t work for me, the hay that it picked up clogged my vacuum, so the next day I decided to take it outside and shake it off and this works much better for me. The next part of this review is that I personally feel that it should be washed twice a week instead of once a week as it does start to smell around the third day of use. I also wash mine in hot water, not cold. I noticed other people asking about washing this in the same washer as you wash your clothes in....not a big deal, I’ve washed worse things in the washer.
They are expensive but in the long run it will save money and I recommend buying two if your budget allows for it.
And if you’re wondering which cage I use it in that would be the Living World XL. The liner is a little too big for the cage but I just fold it under and it works perfectly.

This is a great quality fleece liner for the midwest guinea pig cage. My little guinea pig is sooo happy. It seemed a little expensive at first, but when each package of bedding costs easily $20, I knew the investment would be worth it. We will have to order more for our hedghogs too. Looking forward to not seeing shavings all over my house.

Nice, heavy fabric. We got this for the XL living world cage. It is a little wide for our cage, but we just folded under the sides. Our piggie seems to like the fabric bedding. This is our first attempt with fleece and so far so good.

Received today and washed immedietely. Once dry, we cleaned up the piggies pen and set it up using their new cage liner. It fit perfect with a little extra going up the sides (help keep pig-beans in the pen!!). Our two pigs have been popcorning like crazy and even flipping summersaults. The liner washed well and seems to be the type of fabric that will get cozier with each washing. Thank you!

I love the fact, that my liner came fast. My piggies love their new bedding. It is very absorbent and yes it gets a little messy with the hay.

1. I would not have to buy paper bedding anymore and paper bedding gets very messy.
2. Dust liner off for the hay that got stuck on it and just get piggies a hay rack
3. What I did when I first got it, I followed the instructions to wick it. I also liner my Midwest cage with puppy liners.
4. Puppy liners were dry when I picked the fleece liner up.
5. I see myself buying three more.
6. My Guinea Pigs approve it. They were pop corning in the cage.

SWITCH TODAY! Our triple-layer cage liners are made of two layers of luxury fleece and our super-absorbent middle layer, designed to eliminate odor and keep your pet's paws dry. No need for expensive and smelly paper bedding.

    HOW IT WORKS
    1. Prewash & dry your new cage liner 1-2 times to prep the fabric.
    2. Lay your cage liner directly on the bottom of your pet's cage. (It will go up the sides a bit to ensure a good fit) You don't need to use any other kind of newspaper or disposable bedding underneath it.
    3. Once a day, sweep up loose bits of hay/pellets using a dust pan & brush.
    4. Once a week (for one piggy) or every 5 days (for two piggies), shake the liner into a garbage bag, wash, dry, and put back in the cage.

    FAQs
    Q: What size is this?
A: This liner is designed to fit a 24" x 48" cage. We make our cage liners a couple inches larger than this to ensure a perfect fit.

    Cages This Liner Fits:
Midwest Guinea Habitat (Fits the Plus version too!)
Living World X-Large Cage (not the Large size)
AmazonBasics Pet Habitat Jumbo Size (not the other sizes)

Q: How is a cage liner different than using fleece on its own?
A: Fleece on its own bunches up, does not absorb (making your piggies sit on a wet surface), and does nothing to help with odor.

Q: My cage size is not offered, can you do a custom order?
A: We're not able to make custom-sized cage liners because we want to keep our prices low and shipping fast. Not to worry, we're adding new cage sizes all the time!

Q: How do I wash my cage liner?
A: Wash on cold, no fabric softener; dry on LOW heat or hang to dry. Add vinegar as needed, to help minimize odor.

Q: Can I buy a cage liner for my rabbit?
A: Yes! Cage liners are great for rabbit pens.

Where to even begin, this bedding is a quality product. We had been using standard piggy bedding and read about the possibility of using fleece. We will never ever turn back. We just love the ease of keeping piggy's cage tidy now. Thanks so much for making a great quality product that's cute too!!

When I ordered my first fleece cage liners I ordered one of these and one from another company with stellar reviews. Unfortunately, even following all the directions for each liner, the other brand didn’t retain its visual appeal or shape and just generally didn’t hold up nearly as well as the one from SmallPets & Company. I ordered another of this liner in the feather print (which is the one I am currently reviewing) and remain impressed! Both my SmallPets & Company liners still look new and work great. In fact, I am so pleased with them that I just finished placing an order for two more, in the galaxy print this time. ☺️
I’ve found that with 2 guinea pigs in 2 connected Midwest cages, the liner can go about a week before washing if you pick up the poops (I often do this multiple times throughout the day, but once a day is probably enough). The same is probably true for one piggie in one cage. However, if you have 2 piggies in one Midwest cage, you’re probably going to want to wash it *at least* every 5 days. I was washing them every 3-5 days until we got our second cage because the smell can get pretty bad (maybe it was worse because it was boars, idk).
One of our piggies died back in January, so now that we have only one pig in the 2 connected Midwest cages, I’m thinking that having 4 liners to change out should make cleaning up easier than ever.
To sum up my review, I highly recommend SmallPets & Company fleece liners over the other “leading” brand. I also recommend it over disposable litter as it’s much easier to clean the cage and it’s much more economical after a slightly higher initial investment. Trust me, though-these are worth their price! 👍🏽👍🏽

This is the best quality cage liner we've owned. And the customer service is top-notch! My little piggy and I couldn't be happier. Thank you, Ellee!

I use this liner with pieces of fleece laid on top since my 2 guineas don’t burrow. It helps with cleaning up the insane amount of pellets they produce. This liner is amazingly soft and does a great job absorbing urine and keeping the top layer dry. It’s also easy to use a mini-broom and dustpan for daily maintenance. I have washed/dried several times per the instructions and it has held up magnificently. It fit the MidWest cage perfectly, with just a little extra on each side. Definitely worth the initial investment and I will buy a second soon so I can rotate more easily.

I LOVE this product. I just got guinea pigs and I was not excited about the mess they were going to cause, so I researched bedding options and found these. I shake it off into the trash each night and throw it in the wash once or twice a week and it's so easy and clean! My pigs love it too. I will be buying more.
