It should be noted for other buyers that when the instructions tell you to do a full charge and discharge 2-3 times when you first get it to make the battery last the longest, that you shouldn't just let the Roomba go back to it's base. For me, I got the battery, replaced the old one (which would only run for 10 minutes and then die), charged it (done in a few hours or less) then let it run. It ran for an hour then automatically returned to the base.
But it returns home, not because the battery is empty but because it's hour of cleaning is done. So, you have to take it back off the charger and let it continue to run until it runs **all the way down** until it can't move anymore. The best way to do this is to stick it in a room where it can't get back to the base, or just unplug the base so it can't find it/recharge. When you find it stopped in a room, *start it back up* until it won't start again. For me, it ran for another solid hour (over 2.5 hours total)! Once it's fully dead, charge it up fully and start that process over again and do it a total of 2-3 times. After that, it lasts a long time and has way more charge (2x+) than it needs to clean.
I've seen other reviews on other replacement Roomba batteries where I think the buyer assumed that when it returned to the base that it was empty and let it charge again... that is not the case and doing it that way will cause issues for the battery for the rest of it's life.
I want to emphasize the need to condition this battery properly when you use it for the first few times. You must run the battery down until it is completely dead, fully charge it, and run it down again. Repeat one more time and each time you do this, you will see how the battery holds more and more of a charge.
It arrives with a really good charge on it. I don't know if it was fully charged but it seems like it was. I used it to clean three large rooms before it ran out of juice. I made sure it was completely dead by starting it up a few times after it reported "Charge Roomba" until eventually, it would not move at all.
I then gave it a full charge and ran it again. This time I did the same three rooms and then I did them again, and then again. I was starting to think that this battery would never run out. This battery is so much better than the original Roomba battery. Now, the battery is new and I don't know how long it will last but my initial experience has been excellent. I will update here again when the battery makes it through the one year warranty period.
I should point out that the surfaces the Roomba 770 was dealing with were not easy ones so the performance is even more impressive given that. For example, there are a few small thick carpets on wood floors that the Roomba has to fight to climb up and over. There are also many raised obstacles when the unit passes through rooms that consume more power than a standard flat wood or vinyl floor.
I did have one issue when I first installed the battery. It ran fine through the first run but when I plugged it in to charge, it would not recognize the battery. I got a "charge errro 1".
I did a reset per Roomba web site but still nothing. I remove the battery, used a wire brush to brush off the contacts on the Roomba, put the battery back in, and all was well. At first I thought the battery was not thick enough and perhaps needed a small piece of foam on the top to press it against the terminals but in the end just the cleaning did the trick. If you do have this issue, try cleaning the terminals (your old battery might have leaked a little on them) and if no luck add a little bit of foam spacer between the top fo the battery and the battery cover.
As others here have stated, if you do have an issue, post it here in the reviews to get attention. I wrote to the support address provided in the box with the battery but after four days they have not responded. As it turns out, I don't need any support at this point.
Pet #3, the roomba, was getting cranky and short-tempered. I would often find it wedged in a corner of the bathroom, sulky and combative, after only 15 or 20 minutes or so of cleaning. One day it just refused to start, issuing confused demands, and blinking in a dazed manner. The fur bunnies from pets #1 and #2 threatened to overtake us all. This battery has given my roomba new life! We moved from an apartment to a house, and now it has enough energy to run the whole floor and get back to its charging station complete with "I'm done!" happy chirping. Thanks for bringing my beloved roomba back to me. Do you make replacement batteries for humans too?
After coming into possession of Roomba 572 that wouldn't power on or run, I began searching the internet for ways to repair it. The unit I have is a Roomba 572 Pet Series, and it had the infamous Error 5 and would not charge or run. I was ready to throw the whole thing out, when I thought "might as well try to change the battery". I read online that this normally doesn't fix the Error 5 issue but thought it was worth a shot. Well, fast forward 1 month and the Roomba is now running better than it has in years. I would highly recommend this battery for people who have the Error 5 issue, and I will try to update this review if anything else changes.
UPDATE:
Excellent company. I posted the below review and they sent me a replacement battery within a week. New battery seems to work well and ran for three days without recharge. Very nice capacity... seems like more than the first battery.
Previous Review:
Don’t buy. Works well for about 5 months, then stops holding a full charge. The other reviewers probably reviewed this on upon first receipt, at which time I was really happy with this battery. Unfortunately, that feeling is shortlived. Now I keep finding the Roomba paralyzed mid cleaning and it always asks me to “charge roomba” even when it’s 10 feet from the dock. I followed all the reviews and made sure to fully charge and discharge the battery upon receipt - so that’s not the issue.

Our Roomba 650 used to last 2+ hours brand new and dropped to about 40 minutes after 3 years of use. Batteries degrade and that's just a normal aspect of them so we replaced it with this one. The installation involved removing several crews from the bottom of the Roomba to find the battery. Took 3 minutes total. This battery now lasts those 2+ hours and the Roomba can finally vacuum my entire 1500ft home in one go. Very pleased and I hope this battery lasts me at least 2 years.
It's been exactly 4 months since I purchased this product for my Roomba 650. It worked well for the first month. And battery life has deteriorated quickly since then. Today, the Roomba lasted 1 minute. I tried to email the company last month for a replacement but no response.
Edit: Customer service sent me a new battery after I gave a 1 star review. I tried asking for a replacement before the 1-star review and they said I had to ship the old one back out of pocket first. Seems like lopsided customer service IMO.
Worked perfectly when I first got it. A month later, stopped charging and returning to its dock. Sometimes gives me error, other times it looks like it's charging or even charged, but then will only run for 10 minutes.
I've taken it apart so many times, cleaned all the terminals. I tried putting my old battery in there and that one works better than the new one, so I'm pretty sure there's something wrong with the battery.
I depend on my Roomba and now it barely works. Pretty miserable and it's been 2 months since I bought it so I think it's too late to get my money back??
REVIEW UPDATE:
After posting this negative review, the company reached out to me very promptly and sent me a replacement and shipping label to return the defective battery. They were very friendly and fast. I've only had the chance to use the Roomba once w the new battery but it seems to work like new!! Of course I would have preferred not having to go through all this (and going back to sweeping Cinderella style in the meantime), but it's good to know that you're buying from a decent company that has customer support and stands by its products. So that being said, I would encourage you to buy with caution, but confidence.
REVISED REVIEW:
I previously posted a very negative review that I regret. In response to my posting this vendor shipped me a brand new replacement battery at no cost to me. However, even the battery did not work. I know believe the problem was with my vacuum.
So 5 stars plus for the company to respond to a complaint with a replacement. This type of customer service is so rare today.
And shame on me for posting such a negative review without knowing for sure the issue was with the battery.

The battery started out working good but then died about 90 days after purchase and will not recharge I am a technical professional and tried all other troubleshooting options: 1) Made sure battery was making great contact with all the leads. 2) Tried resetting unit 3) cleaned all battery contacts on charging station, iRobot and battery with eraser and rubbing alcohol 4) plugged power supply directly into side port of the iRobot... Nothing will recharge this 3 month old battery :(
I have a Roomba 650 and this battery works well. The only tool you'll need to replace the battery is a phillips screwdriver. Simply remove all four screws on the bottom of the Roomba, along with the fifth one that holds the tri legged cleaning brush in place. Remove the cover and lift up the existing battery by holding on to the convenient tabs at each end. Simply place the new battery in the same position as the old one, again using the convenient tabs that are also on this new battery, Screw the cover back on and then screw one of the four included new tri legged cleaning brushes (if replacing - I did and the new one worked perfectly). Then place your Roomba on the charging base and let if fully charge. I let it sit overnight so i could use it this morning. Let the Roomba clean until it doesn't have any power (mine lasted over two hours). Then place it back on the charging base. This new battery seems stronger than the original, but i may have forgotten what it was like when i first bought it! To my ears the Roomba sounded a bit louder but it never once got caught up on furniture that it used to - I think that's because it has a slightly stronger pull. So, I am extremely happy, one day in, with this battery and the tri legged cleaning brushes. The price was great too.
