I've been suffering from MGD for 10 years now. Have it pretty bad (i.e. lifelong "goggle-wearing", eye-itching multiple-time lipiflow patient bad). Name an MGD focused eye drop on the market and I'll bet good money that I've tried it. The only one that brought a decent amount of relief for me was the Optive Advanced (which used to be called something else way back when but I can't quite remember what). I noticed this new release while picking up my monthly "fix" a few weeks ago. A quick label check showed it had pretty much the same active ingredients as the Optive Advanced with the addition of flaxseed oil and some lipophilics. Figured it wouldn't hurt to give it a go. The first application didn't feel too different from the advanced so I figured at least there was that. I was out of the advanced anyway so I figured I'd just finish this up and switch back.
A few weeks later and Hell No will I be switching back. Caution: I don't want to build up the hopes of a fellow MGD sufferer out there too much. I know how devastating it can be to have new hope dashed. However, for me, after years of wearing goggles and craving my next eye-drop fix, I'm almost back to my pre-MGD days. I can wear my normal glasses, maintain eye contact and even hang out in AC environments without a care in the world. These drops have been life-changing for me and I cannot endorse them more. Of course, just because it works for me doesn't mean it'll work for everyone. It's possible these perfectly resolve inadequacies in my tear film that aren't an issue for you. Still, there's no harm giving them a go and seeing if they're the cure for you too!
Oh my god these are miles away better than anything else on the market. They work similarly to the Retaine but don't hurt my eyes. Retaine clears my vision a few seconds faster but sometimes gives me a headache. These don't, and they let me use drops less often.
These are great eye drops, but I have been having difficulty locating them at the stores that I frequent. I decided to check Amazon, and it came to my rescue. The drops are cool and so very comfortable. The drops that I previously used, Systane Gel, worked, but they made my eyes very blurry upon using them. They took about five minutes to clear. I had to do one eye at a time so that I could still see while waiting for the eye with the drops to clear. The Refresh Optive Mega-3 drops are great. I wish the drops were available in a bottle. They come in individual, single use-containers. Because there is still solution left over in the container (probably to allow for those instances where you miss your eyeball when applying), I protect the tip by clipping it to a memo clip that I have. That way I don't waste the product that is left over in the little container; however, doing so is inconvenient. But, I'll go to the inconvenience for this wonderful eye drop.
So far I'm liking these drops. I have Sjögrens Syndrome. I had to stop using drops with preservatives because they burned the eyes. Some people don't like these drops because they say you can't re-plug the vial and use the vial through out the day. If you prop the vial in a safe place inside the fridge, you can continue using them until they're all used up. Only thing is, they're expensive. Edit: I have found that you can re-plug them, but don't put them in your pocket because they will leak. Prop the vial in a safe place and use it up in one day.
REFRESH OPTIVE MEGA-3. is a good product for nite-time severe dry eyes. It truly gave me relief from the discomfort of dry eyes. I am very pleased with this purchase of REFRESH and I thank ALLERGAN for good service all around. The price was good, I received it quickly and it was packed well.

Refresh Optive Mega-3 with flaxseed oil is really helpful! I had several scratches on my cornea from droopy eyelid syndrome. I saw my opthomologist and he guided me into what I need to help resolve the issue. Turns out, I don’t want to not have them on hand at all times.
I didn’t know that once you twist the little cap on each individual applicator. I do know now, so it helps keep the tip sterile and it can be used again for later use if needed later in the day too!
I have Chronic Dry Eye Syndrome and this lasts longer than any other drop I have found thus far. I wear PROSE devices, but need drops once I take them out at night and this does the trick. It actually works better for me than the gels. Relief is achieved immediately. Please do NOT take this off the market!!!!!
I have Sjogren’s and my eyes, mouth and other fragile membranes get so dry. My eyes are to the point where there are dry spots on my corneas. I’ve tried prescription steroid drops. Two rounds didn’t do it.
These drops help more than the scores of others I’ve tried.. I use two or three a day which gets expensive. That said I used 6-8 of other drops. Just wish they came in larger quantities for a better price!
These are great! After lasik surgery my doctor noted my eyes were dry & recommended these and fish oil supplements. I don’t like supplements but I did use these eye drops. They felt so moisturizing on my eyes compared to non omega eye drops. At my next appointment my doctor said my eyes looked great!
The best. I keep them in a container in my home fridge so I can use every last drop. At work I use one per day. Combine with the Bruder eye mask to unclog tear glands. AND FELIX GREY BLUE LIGHT FILTERING GLASSES! I can survive 8 hours a day w 2 computer screens. Reducing inflammatory foods has a real impact but when I cheat I am thankful for these drops bcuz the others are worthless.
