These are my favorite sponges. This style anyway. Whenever Costco puts their big pack of them on sale from time to time, I always buy a pack. However, since we're only in our current place for a short time, I didn't need a big pack of them. I ordered these from Amazon instead. These were very close to the ones I always get.......EXCEPT that these had a weird habit of the top scrubby part pulling away from the sponge part on the bottom. It is annoying & frankly, it's a little gross b/c I keep imagining things getting stuck in between there. Blech. I'm not a germophobe, but that grosses me out. So, these may be okay, but for my money, I'll get the big pack at Costco the next time they put out a coupon for them.
I haven't had a dishwasher in years so I must wash my dishes by hand every day. I use Amazon's Subscribe & Save program to get a large shipment (9-count) of these Scotch-Brite scrub sponges. For me, these sponges last usually a little over two weeks or so; it really depends on what we had cooked for dinner. For example, if I cooked something with a lot of gooey things like cheese, cream, chili, etc, I would probably replace the sponge a little quicker than if I cooked something that had less of a mess. I'm the type of person that's pretty frugal and if I can keep a sponge around for a little bit, I will. I love the convenience of these Scotch-Brite sponges as a Subscribe & Save option because these sponges are usually a little overpriced in the store, but online you can find a deal on Amazon, Target, Wal-Mart, and the like. Overall, I would recommend these sponges (especially in the Subscribe & Save program) for anyone who has to wash dishes by hand and would like a quality sponge that 1) doesn't scratch cookware 2) lathers well 3) lasts a decent amount of time 4) is inexpensive 5) has a great value. Hope this helps.
Husband have you slaving in the kitchen! Can't come relax until you've cleaned it all! Then this 9 count sponge set is the one for you! You can scrub until your knuckles bleed with these bad boys! Or if you are just the type that doesn't like stinky sponges this is a great buy. I have kids and a husband that can't seem to ring out the sponge when they are done using it so needless to say they get stinky faster than normal. It's true you can put them in the microwave for about 15-20 seconds to kill the bacteria but sometime a new sponge just feels good and when you have 9 who cares!
I cook a lot. My husband bought me all stainless steal skillets about four years ago. I use the Scotch Brite Non Scratch Scrub Sponge at least three times a day everyday cleaning those pots and skillets. I have never had a single scratch in on any of them using the non scratch sponge. Plus, instead of going through a box of steel pads weekly, this sponge outlast all of them and saves me money.
Also, when I clean my stove top, I use the same Scotch Brite Non Scratch Scrub Sponge and it has never scratched or harmed the paint on my stove (or refrigerator!).
Excellent product, great price and best of all, it is dependable each time I use it.
Don't try to save a buck and get no name or Walmart brand sponges. This sponge absorbs just as well as any other, but the scrub pad is what makes this a must have for washing dishes and pots and pans. It is safe for Teflon coating but tough enough for steel and aluminium. The scrub pad also lasts longer than any other I've used. Scotch Brite pads also stay bonded to the sponge better than any other. I tried Walmart scrubbing sponges only one time and the pads separated from the sponge after only a day or two. Their pad also turned fluffy and soft just as quickly.

I purchased these Scotch Brite sponges with the hopes of cleaning my grimy old kitchen stove. Once they arrived, I turned on some of Michael Jackson’s greatest hits, know to get into the cleaning groove. I head into the kitchen to unpack my sponges. As I slid the plastic off of the bright blue cleaning instruments, I dipped one of them into running water and dabbed a dime sized amount of Dawn soap onto it. After dancing around the kitchen for a few minutes and wondering if after all of these years...”Who is Annie? And is she okay?” I began to scrub the kitchen stove repeatedly. The soap began to grow rapidly. I thought of all of the tiny germs I was taking the lives away from. Oh no, those poor little germs and all of that poor, poor grime and grease. I felt overwhelmed with emotion. Until Smooth Criminal came into chorus. I realized I was in fact a Smooth Criminal with a spotless kitchen stove. Thanks Scotch Brite!
Great sponges. They work great if you cut them in half as well. Then you get twice the sponges and it's easier to clean in the corner of casserole dishes.
The "rough" side does a great job with baked on messes without scratching any of my dishes. The sponges are durable and don't fall apart easily, if it starts to smell I just pop it in the dishwasher with my dishes for a quick sterilize. Works great for Dutch ovens, pots, pans, regular dishes, etc.
This is pretty much all I use with dishes.. I also have a more abrasive sponge that needs to be used from time to time, but I find that this sponge is usually the perfect gentleness/roughness for washing dishes by hand. It's always an exciting day when I can pull out a new sponge from the Scotch-Brite sponge bag and throw away the old one. The sponge reaches a golden age after it's been worn in enough that it's not so rough on my hand, but it's still super effective.... that's the best times. But eventually, all sponges pass their prime.. and thus the cycle begins anew.
It would be nice to have a dishwasher, but these sponges are less expensive and more fun!
I wanted something that would not permanently scour my flimsily coated wok and ceramic pans. This is just perfect for that. Very gentle and make sure you use a lot of soap to get stuff out because this does not have the necessary leverage or roughness to uproot deeply stuck on dirt. Also make sure you don't use these for more than 2 weeks as the sponge itself is the perfect home for all kinds of bacteria if you don't keep it immersed in soapy water all the time.
I prefer the plastic wire mesh type cleaners that are actually wires and don't allow bacterial to take hold. It never gives a foul odor after a few days and performs better.
These non-scratch scrub sponges are easily the best. They're convenient, the shape makes it possible to clean anything, and the non-scratch scrubber doesn't detach like cheaper versions. You get a good sponge and a good non-scratch scrubber that will last through your tough dishes jobs...and you can easily hold both of them because they're built together...and they're a 6 pack. Do it!
