If I had more nerve (or a couple glasses of chardonnay under my belt) I would post before and after pictures of my son's carpet. I mean, it's not totally his fault. Eighteen years ago when we picked out his oyster shell carpet, we had only a few color options. Plus, pregnant with our first child, I wasn't the best decision maker. ANYWAY, within the last 6 months, 14 year-old David has decided a clean room is a good thing. (yes!) But his carpet looked hideous. Most of his projects were completed on that floor and it showed. I shopped Amazon and finally settled on the Hoover. David did use over a container and a half of the cleaner undiluted, but his carpet is amazing. So amazing that he makes us take off our shoes before we enter his room.

I didn't even know that such a product existed in the market which can be used without any hired professionals. After feeling that my carpets are looking 'yucky', decided to give this a try based on recommendation by a friend and I borrowed his cleaning machine. Was really surprised to see the dirt which came out of my carpets. So, very happy with the 'cleaning' power of the product, it sure can get dirt out.
Couple of things where I was not completely satisfied - it could not take the 'Play Doh' bits stuck on to the floor from my daughter's room. Another aspect is the 'deodorize' part - not much of any 'clean linen' smell after the process, at max a very mild fragrance. I will buy it again if I am not able to find the same product with better fragrance since I am happy with the 'cleaning' aka real purpose of this.
Guests hardly ever follow the "No Shoes" rule and the kids are awful at taking them off when they come inside. We had brand new carpet installed 2 years ago and between the dirt and spills it was starting to look soiled (tea, pop, beer, popscicles- you name it!). I have a Kirby Avalir but it just doesn't do the job of deep cleaning. So I purchased the Hoover FH50150 at the store this week and bought a bottle of this to go with it. My living room carpet has never been cleaner! It removed all stains and left behind a mild scent. I will say the Kirby Carpet Shampoo smells a lot better though. I'll probably try a different Hoover Carpet Shampoo once this bottle is out.
I just filled up the soap tank and the water tank on my Hoover Power Scrub (no measuring)- just filled until the "Fill Line" on both. No suds or bubbles because I didn't add the right amount.. worked just fine!
I was recently on a week long vacation with my children when my husband texted me stating he wished he had some carpet cleaner so he could shampoo our entire house. Thanks to Amazon Prime I ordered this carpet cleaner and it was delivered two days later! My husband may not have been serious about shampooing our carpets but now he had no choice since this product arrived so quickly! BEFORE CLEANING:
Test a small hidden area of carpet for colorfastness. If color changes, do not use. For upholstery, read manufacturer's cleaning tag. Use only on items coded "WS" or "W".
DIRECTIONS:- Vacuum carpet.
- For best results, pre-treat tough stains.
- Shake contents well.
- Add 3 ounces per gallon to warm water in the clean water tank. For AutoMix machines, fill solution tank. Always consult owner's manual.
- Vacuum once your carpet has dried.
Greatest thing EVER. I have a german shep puppy and he was destroying my carpets and rugs. Id pay stanley steamer 100-200 bucks every few months to clean the stains and remove the pet odor from my carpets.
Ever since I bought this baby, I don't need to call a carpet cleaning service anymore. It removes stains, it removes odors, it's the best thing I ever bought. It's already paid for itself in a week.

I suspect you can save a bit on the product if you mix it 3 to 1 in the detergent tank. At full concentration, even though the machine mixes it with water, it makes the carpet foam and requires 4 extra sweeps with just water to get everything out of the carpet.
WOW! This solution is the King of all carpet cleaning solution. I JUST used it on my basement carpet - the basement entry door area AND the gym area. Amazingly effective at cleaning that ole' tried dirt filled carpet. PLEASE, dilute this stuff cause it is WAY too strong and creates tons of foam IF use just as in the solution tank - I found that out the hard way.
We hadn't shampooed the carpets in years. We decided to invest in a vacuum and got this cleaner to go with it. Great choice! It literally piked up ALL the dirt that was embedded in our carpets for 3 years! They looked brand new after this! I wish I had taken before and after pictures because the difference was day and night! Hoover appliances and soaps are a winner!
I can't be sure if it's the formula or my cleaner but I'm still getting dirt up after multiple cleanings so I know it didn't get everything the first time. Not an overpowering smell like other ones. We have fragrance sensitivities and this one didn't bother us. Before this I had to take an unscented formula and mix it half and half with a scented one to get about the same level of fragrance.
