I am a pharmacist (BA in chemistry and Doctorate in pharmacy) and I spent a TON of time researching prenatals. I mean a TON. I was on drug databases that I have access to at work, read through forums on baby websites and this prenatal is the best that I could come across.
This prenatal vitamin (PNV) was the only brand that I could find that was USP certified- thus meaning, it passes a dissolution test which proves that the vitamins contained within the PNV will be available for your body to absorb and utilize for your potential or growing baby! The tablets are not too large where they are tough to swallow and they do not have an odor associated with them.
I decided to get the formulation without the DHA because that product is not USP certified. I buy a separate liquid DHA/EPA supplement.
I am a pharmacist for Walgreens and even with my employee discount these vitamins are cheaper on Amazon! Great product and I recommend to my patients when they are looking for a suggestion on a PNV. PNV can even be taken as a daily multi-vitamin. You do not have to be pregnant or trying to get pregnant!
I bought these Nature Made Prenatal Multivitamins during a coupon and via Subscribe and Save. 250 pills for under $9 makes for a fantastic value. They arrived sealed and as described. No color added, no preservatives, no yeast, and gluten free. They are recommended to be taken one pill, once a day.
At the time I was taking these, Rainbow Light Prenatal One Multivitamin, 150-Count Bottle which I'd purchased through another online retailer. For reference, the Rainbow Light vitamins were the first prenatal I'd ever taken and I'm not pregnant. My husband and I are hoping to get pregnant though so I started taking prenatals to prepare my body for a healthy pregnancy. Like most women, I felt a whole lot better when I started taking them. I took regular multivitamins before but they don't compare.
The Rainbow Light ones have a type of iron that is more easily absorbed. When I stopped taking them and switched over to these Nature Made ones, I was back to my old low-iron type side effects. I don't test for having low iron but I can tell when it's low, for one because my feet get so freezing cold, almost nothing can warm them up.
My thin nails also started breaking more easily again. I trust the Nature Made name when it comes to vitamins so I'll likely buy these again, especially since the price is so reasonable. The other costs about double and you get about 100 pills less. But, if you can afford it, I think it's worth the benefits (little things for me but I figure how much more for the baby?).
The expiration date on mine was over two years out. I'm uploading some photos so you can compare the two brands, if you want to see the differences, there are many. Overall I like the Nature Made ones but will be watching for a coupon to come available on the other. Smile. Hope this is helpful!
My OBGYN recommended I start taking prenatals vitamins b/c we're planning on "trying" next year. She said it didn't really matter if we went cheap or expensive; they're generally all the same ingredients. So I researched a bunch of them and settled on these. I can't speak to any pregnancy-related benefits, as we're not there yet, but I have a ton of energy! I've been taking them for about 5-6 weeks now, and I've also stopped drinking coffee, but I feel very healthy and energetic. No bad side effects that I've noticed.
When I became pregnant I did a ton of research about what prenatals to take and what should be in them. In my first trimester, I was taking Garden of Life Raw prenatals but I had to take three a day and it was difficult for me to keep track of, so I began looking for a one a day prenatal after reading that there really was not a difference in taking a vitamin 1x a day vs 3x a day. I'm so glad I found these vitamins-
Here's what sold me:
-They meet all the criteria for prenatal vitamins (according to What to Expect When You're Expecting/Mayo Clinic/WebMd)
- very cost effective. Amazon by far has the best prices I have seen
- only have to take 1x a day
- digest easily/ no nausea from taking these
-USP certified(tests for body's ability to actually absorb vitamins)
I also take Nature's Bounty Fish oil ( contains DHA) in addition to these prenatals
Don't be fooled -- vitamins like these are 99% the same ingredients as the ones OBGYNs prescribe that cost 5x-25x as much! Check the nutritional facts to make sure for yourself, but these have worked out well for us.

I am a nurse and I did a ton of research on these. I saw a lot of reviews from healthcare professionals also. I am not pregnant but I take this as a regular multivitamin. These are a liquigel and are not that big and easy to swallow. I am sensitive to vitamins and get nausea so I take vitamins at night usually but I can take these in the morning on an empty stomach and no nausea. I do have MTHFR and these do have folic acid not folate but I have lived my whole life not knowing and I survived all the fortified grains and pastas and 2 babies I think I will live. I do take a methylated B complex so that should help. I was taking the Honest Company brand ( which are great) prenatal because they were the only cheaper alternative with methylated folate but even at 20 bucks for 30 days it was breaking my bank. These are great quality, quantity (2 months) and inexpensive and provide more vitamins than most. Sorry but very few supplements are worth the extra money. More expensive does not mean better. Don't buy into the sales pitches people.
Amazon - stop screwing me over.
I've been using these prenatals since the beginnging of my pregnancy. I began buying the 90 pack, because it was cheapest. In February I went to reorder and they had changed the item to only a part of the Pantry items, so I found a similar pack which had 60. They were more expensive, but I settled since there wasn't better options.
Now, I come back to reorder and the 60 pack is only an add on item! I guess I'll be buying these are Target now - way to much hassle to get the product I need.
I work at an OBGYN clinic and had access to many different types of prenatal vitamins samples that my doctors said I could help myself too throughout the pregnancy. I have a sensitive stomach and would feel extra nauseous and like I was going to vomit every morning when trying the various brands. After doing some research, I found this brand on Amazon. I decided to give it a try after my OB peeked at the label and said, “these vitamin percentages are perfect in every category.”. They did not disappoint! Immediately I felt better, still had some nausea in the first trimester, but I wasn’t scared of throwing up. I ran out and thought I’d go back to some freebies from my clinic (we dont have a lot of job perks, I wanted to take advantage while I could!). I felt nauseous again after trying them and vowed I wouldn’t try another prenatal again.
I accidentally bought this brand with the separate DHA capsules, they were just as good but who wants to take two pills instead of one?! I’m a user for life!
I've been taking these prenatals since I found out I was pregnant, 16 months ago. I am now the happy mother to a beautiful 7-month-old little girl and will continue to take the prenatals until we're done nursing. They have caused me no trouble and if they are partially responsible for my daughters' prenatal and postnatal health, as well as our success in breastfeeding, then I couldn't thank these vitamins enough for their help!
So my doctor was prescribing me a prenatal vitamin, but my boy just could not handle them. Every time I would take them, within 15-20 minutes I was getting sick. I had been taking Nature Made Prenatal before I got pregnant to get my body up to the levels needed to have and start a healthy pregnancy. I was so happy when she told me I could start taking the Nature Made Prenatal with DHA if that's what worked for me! Knowing that I didn't have to keep taking the ones that were making me sick made me so much happier knowing my little man was getting the nutrients he needed.
