After reading reviews before purchasing, our only concern was of an attachment falling off the vibrating end whereas the attachment slips on where not threaded. Happy to report: The attachment designed for the end of concern fits very snug and doesn't displace at all. The non threaded attachments that slip over the threaded tapotement end also fit very well and remain in place.

In my employment history, I provided deep tissue massage / trigger point therapies in 3 different clinics serving 4 doctors' patients. Compared to the massagers those clinics used, this massager meets or exceeds all of the power of their single hand held units. Even through it has a motor that is well powered, it is not too heavy. I did not experience fatigue from its utilization.

While this massager isn't the same as well placed and maneuvered thumb or elbow. It successfully does all that I'd expect a one handed, mechanical massager to accomplish. It did work out trigger points and relax muscles. It does what it claims to accomplish.

We purchase this for family members use at home. If you're looking to use as a masseus for several hours a day, you may want to order more than one to rotate use so one is charging while the other is in use. It's is so nice not to have to manage cord location nor proximity to outlets.

We charged unit minimally for 1 hour prior to first use as per instructions. I was able to work trigger points scalp, back, shoulders, arms, periformis, legs and feet of two people and trigger points on upper back of a third person. At the end of which the indicator on the handle blinked red when unit shut off. Overall use of device was about 1 hour. Final application before red light blink and shut down was a continuous use of about 25 minutes (part of the 1 hr previously stated). The units tapotement end did get luke warm but not hot. I do not know if it turned off because it got warm as to protect the motor and circuitry or if the battery was exhausted. The unit did not slow down. It just stopped. The unit was returned to the charging station and operated again flawlessly after allowing a full charge cycle.

The padded attachment works fantastic for family members who aren't mindful of bony prominances that can receive painful blows from non padded tapotement equipment. So worked great to receive a great massage from someone who doesn't have a good picture in mind of musculoskeletal structure. Result: I get to receive a great masssage too! So nice!

I didn't want to pay $125 without trying the unit first. We're glad we did though.

5 months been suffering sciatica Periformis syndrome. using a Chiropractor, Physical therapist, decompression, teeter no relief until pure wave arrived. used it in the morning when pain was most severe. OMGoodness, after first use I did not have any pain rest of the day. Pain was there upon arising the next morning (need a firmer mattress I'm sure) but after one day of pure wave massage, it was my first good night sleep I have had in months without any constant leg and butt pain, which I tossed around trying to find a position that was not so painful to sleep. But as soon as I put massager on my Periformis muscle and deep tissue around my L4 and L5, I was good for the day. wow this blows my mind. But I am convinced the combination of teeter inverse, decompression and chiropractor are also contributors to pain relief but this, this "Magic Wand" I call my pure wave, it is the cherry on top of all I have tried to do to get some relief, where I finally am having a day that I can be functional without pain. Don't know how long this will last but Im sold on pure wave massager.

I bought this for my wife who has been experiencing severe pain in both feet. The Dr. said it was plantar fasciitis and even gave her cortisone shots that were very painful, that only helped ease the pain but it was still there. She would massage her feet daily and hands can only do so much. Since day one she has felt a notable difference in her pain to the point where it no longer bothers her. We are very pleased with this massager and all the use it will bring.

Writing this in hope to help others to make a decision of purchasing this product.
So let's start, I am very satisfied with the way this device works ( basically as advertised). Initially I bought it for myself and house use only. Since I work as a personal trainer I brought it with me to the gym and one of my clients wanted to try it out, he was delighted as well. So I start using it as a recovery part of my sessions. All the benefits of length and use it yourself are still there, and definitely worth it. All the attachments work properly and covering pretty much everything you need. Now to say something about the actual mechanics, no it won't tenderize you completely, but it will give you a nice recovery treatment that you can apply yourself. There are some other, more powerful devices if that is what you are looking for but keep in mind they are more expensive and more importantly cannot be used on yourself (looking like a gun, so you can't reach all the places).
Now, battery life is a slightly problematic if you don't have a habit of charging it every day.
Overall works as advertised and does the job (no, it won't replace a deep tissue massage therapy)
Ps : very quiet, makes it easy to use while doing something else like watching a movie or just being in company of someone else.

I have dealt with a lot of pain over the last 13 years. Most of the pain came from a back injury and a botched back surgery. Over the years I learned to cope and worked through most of it with over the counter pain relievers and frequent chiropractic visits. Recently I turned 40 and as other people had advised "everything went to s**t" and the pain started to get worse. Not only my low back but now my neck, knees, ankles...you name it, it hurt. My brother-in-law had purchased this massager and raved about it. He's not the raving type so I was curious. He let me borrow it for a few short minutes. To be completely honest I wasn't impressed. It hurt a lot. I was also not impressed with the price. However, the next morning I felt a lot better. I realized that I hadn't slept that good in years. I decided that instead of trying to steal my brother's, I decided to invest. I use it almost everyday. My husband, who's not the raving type either, uses it almost everyday as well. We have been known to lend it to others for a few short minutes keeping a close eye that it doesn't get stolen. :)

This device works pretty well, but feel like it could be priced $20-30 cheaper. The main massaging head works well, it has that jackhammer motion to it instead of a vibration though. It comes with a bunch of different heads for it, but all I find myself using are the soft circle one, and the small, firm nub one. The soft circle is great for larger area massage, and the smaller firm nub is good for targeted muscle relief.

It also has a facial massager thing on the opposite side of the device near the handle, but really it doesn't do much for me. It's very soft massage, and just tickles more than relieves. It also comes with a bunch of heads, that you'll probably only end up using one.

The battery unfortunately doesn't seem to last very long either, maybe a couple hours at 50-75% power.

All together, this thing is a pretty good massager that has more heads than you need, a facial massager feature that you probably won't use, a mediocre battery life, and feels slightly overpriced. It'd be a total recommend if like $30 less.

This is my best wellness purchase to date! Owning the Pure-Wave CM7 is like having your own personal massage therapist. The unit itself is rugged and sturdy and ergonomically designed to reach those difficult areas of your back with ease. It might seem a little heavy for some but that’s the compromise for being sturdy and effective. The control knob allows you to gradually dial the pulsing action from low for very gentle relaxing muscle massage to high for a downright rough pulse that will pound out any soreness or tension after the most rigorous/strenuous activities, and have you feeling like a million bucks in just a few minutes! The choice of 6 different head attachments allow for a multitude of various massage purposes. The basic massage head is great for relieving general tension in the back and trapezius/neck muscles after long stressful day while another specialized attachment head is more helpful for working out more focal and pesky muscular trigger points. The scalp & facial massage heads are an added bonus as well as few others.

No matter what your wellness massage goals are, the CM7 will have your muscles feeling and staying loose and relaxed!

First, my wife and I love these so much we have THREE of them. The percussion action is the very best and strongest we've found for REALLY getting into those pressure points and right down to, you know, those tight knots that nothing else seems to get deep enough in there to. They REALLY work!

That being said, I have to take a star off because, as you can see from other reviews here, the batteries poop out around 16 months or so.

So we now have two that are useless. BUT, I just found replacement batteries on eBay for $26 with a very high rated seller (and there are others).

I have taken one apart before to fix a loose motor and it's not too difficult. The tricky part is getting the rubber sleeve off and back on the handle. But you just have to work it. And I used talcum (baby powder) to help slip it back on.

The new replacement battery is on the way — I haven't actually replaced one yet — but I will report back here when I do. It does require soldering the two wires which I have lots of experience with. So if you can solder two wires you should be able to replace the battery for $26 instead of spending $124 for another one.

I'll let you know how it goes and post photos of the patient's operation ;)

[UPDATE:] Ok so it went really well. Only took 30 mins. The new battery is strong and fast. Here are the steps to replace it (see photos):

1. Make sure the red speed control is in the OFF position and take note of where the speed indicator is (better yet snap a photo of it)
2. Pull the speed control knob off.
3. Remove any massage tip you have on it.
4. Pull the rubber O ring off the threaded nylon post
5. Remove the four screws in the head.
6. Work the rubber handle cover off the handle. You may also need to push the small handle vibrator out of the end of the cover as you work the handle cover off.
7. Carefully pull the plastic body halves apart while also pushing the threaded nylon post out of the rubber collar.
8. Take the old battery out by squeezing the tab on the plastic connector, pulling it off.
9. Cut the battery connector off the old battery, leaving the wires as long as possible.
10. Strip the insulation off the battery connector wires.
11. Solder the connector onto the new battery. (You may want to put heat shrink tubes onto the wires first).
12. Heat shrink the tubes onto the solder joints (I just wrapped them with electrical tape)
13. The old battery has a foam tape on it to keep it from vibrating. I just used some foam mounting tape and wrapped electrical tape over that.
14. Reverse the steps above to put it back together.

I'm nearing the end of my thirties and have been living with chronic hip, back, and neck pain for the past 5-6 years. Having three mild-to-medium disk herniations certainly doesn't help. At times, I've had my back lock up so badly, that I can hardly walk and have immense difficulty sleeping at night and turning my body due to the pain. Every few months, I treat myself to a professional massage, and this often brings about great relief, but due to the fact that I don't have the funds to visit a massage therapist on a regular basis, the pain relief usually dissipates within a few days.

Even though the Pure-Wave CM7 was well reviewed on Amazon and elsewhere, I have to admit that I was highly skeptical about how effective vibration therapy would really be, given how deep-seated some of my pains and tensions were. And it's true, it can't do everything a highly trained therapist can do, and it can't penetrate quite as deeply into the muscles and soft tissue as strong hands and elbows can. HOWEVER:

(1) While it can't perhaps match a skilled massage by a human in terms of force and pressure, it is still highly capable in terms of relieving a significant amount of deep tissue related-pains, and (2)—a major point not often mentioned in reviews—vibration therapy can accomplish types of pain relief a typical session with massage therapist can't do. So on the one hand, the CM7 is no match for a human therapist, and on the other hand, a human therapist is no match for the CM7.

What the CM7 excels at, in particular, is the following:

- it's incredible in it's ability to warm up and substantially relax major muscle areas like legs, hips, and lower back
- the flower-like attachment is absolutely life-altering in it's ability to work areas that often end up being too sensitive for effective human massage, such as calves, quads, and forearms (although, in all fairness, this depends somewhat on the skill of the therapist)
- being able to self-direct your massage is particularly helpful (though a word of warning: you will need to learn about your body to get the most out of this tool... a qualified therapist will often address issues you didn't know were connected to your pain hotspots, and you, too, will need to develop an understanding of how interconnected and domino-like various muscle groups are in your body. For example, I have hip pain, and so at first I focused on my hips. But in time, I started to realize that working my calves, knees, quads, and groin area—in short my legs—was more effective in alleviating hip pain.)

A few limitations to note:

(A) the CM7 is powerful, but it has a self-protection mechanism built in that will turn the motor off if you apply too much pressure. This maximum pressure level, unfortunately, sits below the amount of pressure needed for certain soft tissue areas, like the buttocks and hips, where you need more pressure than in other areas of your body to reach the underlying muscles. You can still do a lot, it still helps enormously, and it definitely beats a solid massage by your partner, but it still can't work knots and areas with a lot of soft tissue quite as effectively as good old thumb and elbow can.

(B) the battery power, while good enough, doesn't really last for the two hours indicated in the product description—at least not at max speed with lots of pressure (basically the way I use it). On a full charge you'll easily get full use for an hour—maybe even 80-90 minutes—but there have been times I would have loved to continue for just a while longer, and the battery simply not being willing. That said, maybe it's better that way... otherwise I might never stop :).

In conclusion, I can only recommend this product to you. In fact, I'm deeply annoyed that I've been aware of this product for years before deciding to purchase a unit. I could have saved myself so much pain, avoided all so many episodes of my back locking up, had I only made the plunge earlier. Either way, better late then never!

In all sincerity, and with lots of compassion for those of you who also suffer chronic pain: acquire a vibration massager. It will profoundly change your life for the better (plus, it feels so good!!!). And if you take my advice and get one, my experience with the CM7 has been excellent.

I use this thing for the bottom of my feet every night before I go to bed! Best money I EVER spent. I used to stand for work and walk everywhere. Now, my life is the opposite (NYC how I miss thee)...I sit for work and drive everywhere. My hips 'go out' then my back hurts, on and on it goes. I never had body pain (except workout pain) before sitting for work.

Seriously, as I type this I am pulling in my gut to help support my pelvis (supporting my back)...writing this review is a great reminder of body mechanics.

A house is only as good as its foundation. Well, a body is only as good as its foundation...this is why I work on my feet without fail. It helps the ankles, the knees, hips and back. Just buy it!!!!
