I got this guy on sale a while back, and put my RoboVac 11 out to pasture at a friends house, where he still cleans to this day. I would say this unit is an overall improvement in most areas, save for a few.
The Pros over the last model:
- Definitely has more suction than the last model. Beyond that, you can set this Eufy to it's maximum setting, and it will remember it every time it turns on. The old 11 would revery back to standard suction everytime
- Has a much better sensor. It must be optical, because this Eufy is more apt to turn before hitting an obstacle or wall. This is good, except when you really want Eufy to hug the wall. Then you need to set it for edge cleaning.
- It is lower in height, which prevents it from getting stuck under some tables the 11 did.
- It is generally quieter, though the max suction setting will negate some of that.
- It is much better at finding it's way home. The old Eufy required a game every afternoon called "Where's Eufy" where you got to search your house for your wayward robot. This one, unless it gets stuck, can find it's way back most of the time.
- It picks up even more crap. I was amazed at how much "stuff" the old vac picked up... this one gets even more.
- Various improvements... most everything has gotten a bit of an upgrade, from the way the dustbin inserts, to the front brushes and the way they attach/detach, to easier removal of the main brush for cleaning.
The Cons:
- For whatever reason, this Eufy does not run as long. Whereas the 11 would run for over an hour and a half, this model, when set to max suction, runs for 45 minutes, almost on the nose. The vac starts out at my place at 1PM, and almost like clockwork is limping home at 1:45.
- This model is also a bit more "aggressive" sometimes with lower objects, and will continually try to run over things slightly below its optical sensors. I often have to chastise Eufy for humping bathroom scales and fan bases.
The Same:
And some things haven't changed much. There's no virutal walls, no multiple schedules or day-specific scheduling; Eufy runs the same time, every day. There's no phone app or smart speaker integration. I suppose if you want that, there's pricier models out there.
IN all it's a definite step up in most areas other than runtime. Considering I have a small place and it runs every day, that's not an issue for me, but others may feel differently.
UPDATE after a few months on the job:
This model has a more easily detachable set of front brushes. So much so that it was losing them periodically on its cleaning missions. Eventually, it lost them both and I couldn’t find them. I bought a set of ten more brushes and a half dozen filters from here, and those seem to be staying on fine. Otherwise, it’s still cleaning like a champ... I’m emptying its bin full of dust and detritus every few days.
I just love the Eufy 12. It is a powerful little vacuum. The machine itself is worthy of 5 stars. However, they changed the packaging on this model. The box on the 11s opened like a briefcase which made it easy to see all the parts in plain view. This newer model opens on the end like a box of cereal. It is difficult to grab the top and results in an ensuing struggle to pull the contents out.
This model does have a noticible difference in power which I just love but caught the telephone wire running along the back wall behind my furniture. I had to cut the phone cord to release it from the wheel bearing. It would have been nice if the bearing actually had a release clamp of some kind for when things like that happen. I take responsibility for this because there was just enough slack in the length to let it get tangled. ðŸ¤I’m just annoyed that now I have to go purchase another phone cord for my landline.
I still am happy with my purchase but for this kind of money I would expect that someone would have taken this into consideration in the design phase.
I am adding an addendum: The vac does have trouble finding its way home. I have to use the remote to get it close enough for the sensors to connect.
I have always perceived these robot vacuums of any brand as probably useless in the real world. My assumptions couldn’t have been more wrong. This inexpensive but effective vacuum has worked miracles on my floors. Every morning I pick up a few items and it runs for about 1 1/2 hours cleaning my main areas. I have three cats in my homes. Do I need to say more? My floors have never been cleaner and it has truly given me a sense of freedom now that I’m not chasing endless fur every day.
I love it so much that I bought a second one for upstairs.
Eufy provides excellent service when I asked them about a missing part that I admitted I may have thrown out inadvertently. The part was replaced without question. Without a charge.
We had just bought a new couch and the Eufy didn’t quite fit under it. We cut some blocks, painted them to match and glued them to the couch feet. Works without a hitch.
The Eufy isn’t perfect but it’s minor issues have been easily accommodated. I have to pick up throw rugs and anything lose laying around. It can get hung up sometimes but it is minor compared to the results. I did not realize what a burden I had been feeling over vacuuming my floors - or the need to - and the freedom this little gadget has given me. Now, if they would develop one for the couches and stairs................

The Eufy is an amazing machine. As with any robovac, you will have to accommodate it’s path so it will not get distracted by loose rugs and wires. If you’re not willing to do that, don’t get any robovac. Beyond that, this machine continues to clean my floors wonderfully. I have bought a second one for upstairs.
I have had a couple of minor issues with my machine and emailed Eufy support. Bonnie was quick to reply and kept digging until we figured out what my issue was. (Three cats in the house means you’ve got to really check the roller brush regularly for accumulation of the dastardly fur). I am so pleased with not just the machine but the customer service which is superb. Call me jaded, but these days customer service is typically at an all time low. Not so with Eufy. Bonnie wanted to be sure I was satisfied with their product. If you have complaints or problems with your Eufy and you haven’t asked for their help, you are giving up on this machine way too quickly. This robovac is awesome! I have attached a picture of the first cleaning it did in my kitchen/living room on hardwoods. Look at all the dust, pet hair, and dirt it collected! It ran like a charm and didn’t get stuck. It appears to have cleaned everywhere. I can’t find any grass or anything left over. It even went under my kitchen table and chairs as well as my coffee table no problem. This Eufy 12 is a better deal than the Eufy 11S - same specs but more power and $20 less at the time of this review. Do not hesitate to purchase this robovac!
Our daughter recently got a Roomba for her house, and when we visited them recently she raved about it and claimed it was life changing. We were skeptical about that, and we weren't wild about the noise and cost of the Roomba, but after checking reviews on Amazon, we decided to get this Eufy, which we call Oofie. It is life changing! It's amazing how much dust and hair it picks up, even with daily use. We really like the slightly lower profile, lower price and quieter operation compared to our daughter's Roomba, which also seems like a great product. After only about 2 weeks with Oofie, we can't imagine life without it!

I have 2 black dogs so there is hair floating all over the wood floors. After brushing them I ran the vac and I felt like I was being pranked. It went over the dog hair at least 10 times and would not pick it up. It is super quiet, doesn't slam into things. It's able to get itself out of situations, except when it gets stuck on the bathroom scale. It always finds home. I love controlling it with the remote, it's like playing a video game. But now after having if for a couple weeks I'm not so sure of it's ability to pick up dog hair, and that's just what's noticeable.
Recently bought a robot to clean the carpet in my room. Cleaning the apartment room is kind of time-consuming, especially when I need to clean the area under my bed. After I bought this smart robot, all I need to do is scheduling a time and it can take care of everything.
This is a very nice day to day surface vacuum, and while it in no way can replace the suction power of an upright, it absolutely does what you need it to do. It picks up my dog's hair and any lint/dust that falls on my carpet daily. All you need to do is empty the tray each day to see what it is picking up. I highly recommend it especially after emptying the dust tray daily.
2/19/19: Received today. Set up was very easy. Picked up all cords and drapes prior to running. Ran it on auto throughout kitchen, livingroom, diningroom, and entry way (all tile). Pics speak for themselves. I have multiple pets who shed and go in and out all day tracking dirt. Wish I hadn’t waited so long to get one of these!!! Worth every cent!
This is the second robovac I've owned, and so far, this one is much better than the Deebot mop/vac combo I had previously, primarily because this vac is much thinner and does not get stuck under furniture and other things all the time. Also, I have some troublesome thresholds that caused my previous vac (and thus me) no end of misery; this little guy just zooms right over them, never getting stuck. It is so nice to not have to get up and nudge this one from the many places the other one was always getting hung up. It also does a great job of picking up animal hair and all the other things we track in. I named my previous vac Mr. Magoo, for obvious reasons; this one is so much better that we're calling him Jarvis. On a final note, I would definitely advise anyone buying a robovac to purchase an extended warranty; they are well worth it.
