I am a long distance runner with a very sensitive stomach. I'd always find myself sipping Gatorade during/after long runs, then would always find myself feeling sick after each run. I was in the market for something light to replenish my electrolytes without the heaviness of Gatorade. Which led me to trying Nuun.
First reaction: well, it's not the best taste ever. It does have a little amount of fizz to it, which I did like. As I continued drinking it, and trying other flavors, I really got a taste of it. My sensitive stomach handles this drink with no problem at all, I actually feel less fatigued after drinking 16 ounces of this after my runs. I get a boost of energy back, which is perfect after early morning runs. I drink it 2 hours before a run, sip it during a long run (knock on wood, I have yet to get any cramps mid-run while drinking this!), and then sip it after a run.
It's very cost effective as well for an electrolyte drink. I like the fact that it's easy to carry around in my bag throughout the day and I can just throw a tab in my water bottle whenever I need it, it is very convenient.
Definitely recommend for anyone that is looking for a way to hydrate through their workouts. It has helped me immensely and I'm looking forward to using it throughout my marathon training!
I had been drinking a liter or more of coconut water a day as I struggling with my electrolyte balance - which get's expensive fairly quickly. I found it's the extra potassium to go with the electrolytes that have helped me physically. so by taking 600mg of potassium (how much is in a cup of coconut water) along with a Nuun tablet has the same effect for me for a lot less money.
the tablets are effervescent - so it can take a bit for them to dissolve in water. the variety of flavors is nice. having then in a tablet means I can take it with me, and just drop one in my water bottle when I need it - instead of multiple bottles of something else.
I recently reduced my carb intake and started getting leg cramps at night. I did a Google search and found out this could be dehydration. I was drinking plenty of water, but thought I might be low on electrolytes. I bought these and have been using 1 tablet a day ever since and no cramps.
Other reviews have complained about not dissolving or taking too long to dissolve. I have not had either problem. I break the tablet in half (as I read in another review) and place in water. It is usually completely dissolved in 5 minutes - I can wait that long. This is much better than the powders I tried that wouldn't completely dissolve and left a grainy texture in my drink.
I get the Lemon Lime and the taste is great. I actually start to crave this if I haven't had one by late in the day.
I have Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome and bought these because of the reviews from other sites. It's imperative for us Potsies to get enough sodium into our bodies. I drank one as soon as we got the box and I can say yes the taste is weird and took me by surprise but at the same time when your desperate you'll make anything go down. I have felt slightly more alert the rest of the day and am excited to see how this effects my symptoms long term
These seem pretty good. They are similar price per tablet at the GU tabs. I see a lot of negative feedback on the taste of the revised formula. Since I never tried the old formula I have no basis of comparison, but I'd say these have a very mild taste that is what I want in a drink. I want something that doesn't taste sweet, just tastes like water with a very mild flavor. Kind of like if you watered down your favorite sports drink. I would like to see the price of such tablets decreased. Just fyi, it is much cheaper to just add salt or baking soda to some water or lemon water for electrolyte replacement. You can do that for a penny or you can buy these tabs for 48 pennies each.

This is not a new product for me, as I have been buying it at REI for several years. All of a sudden their choices were only those of the "Energy" variety or "Immune System Support" type. I was lucky to find this on Amazon, ordered it, and completely happy to have a great supply on hand. This product is the one that works for my husband who has issues with volume depletion and fluid shifts and keeps him out of the Emergency Room.

I have a hard time drinking enough water during the day. I just get busy at work and forget to take the time to drink. I also hate having to go to the bathroom every ten minutes haha! My massage therapist recommended these to me. She notices that I'm always dehydrated when I get a massage -- she can feel it. I try to take one during the day and one before I go to the gym. I've noticed a huge difference in my energy level, especially when I go to the gym.
Some reviewers claim these things make your drink fizzy. Yes, it fizzes when the Nuun is disolving, but once it's finished the drink doesn't seem fizzy to me. My only complaint about these is that they take about 5 minutes to completely dissolve. Sometimes I need to drink my water quickly because I can't take it with me, so I have to make sure I have enough time for it to dissolve. I've also found that drinking these in very cold water makes them taste extra good. My favorite flavors are the fruit punch and the strawberry lemonade.
I really like Nuun. It's easy to carry with me on the bike because the tablets are in small plastic tubes. So, super convenient. Nuun provides me with the electrolytes I need without all of the sugar found in other brands. The high concentration of sugar in other brands would upset my stomach and sometimes have me running to the nearest porta potty. Nuun has never upset my stomach. The taste is good too. Nuun gets the hydration job done.
Used to get headaches after my 90 minute martial arts class, no matter how much water I drank. Then I started using these tabs, and my water tastes better, and my headaches went away. And when I elbow someone to the sternum, it comes with a wafting aroma of strawberries.
While these certainly don't taste good, they have been my life savers when it comes to replacing electrolytes on my new Ketogenic adventure. After bonking about 1/2 way through a 50 mile bike ride (This has never happened to me in my many years of cycling) I knew that I had to do something. These were recommended by a fellow cyclist and I am so thankful!!
