I am a professional quilter and make a lot of T-Shirt quilts. The fusible can cause excessive buildup on an iron. I started out with the rowenta system which works great, but wanted to replace just the cleaning solution when I ran out so I purchased this product as well as the Dritz. This product works just as well as the Rowenta system. The Dritz left some residue behind. When I run low again, I will definitely purchase the Faultless as a replacement. I still use the Rowenta towel which is basically a washcloth and comes with a buffer pad as well.
Works great. Used it the day it came in. Heated up the iron to the highest setting and used a cloth to apply the product and rub. With a little elbow grease all spots of residue came off of the iron. I then applied to a cotton towel in an ironing motion and used the steam feature to make sure all product came out of vents. Product did smoke a little, but it was not an unbearable smoke or smell. Would definitely recommend!
I can't even quite remember how I stumbled upon this product, but I am so glad I did. I don't iron very often, which is probably how I managed to practically destroy our iron when I was trying to iron on some transfers to a t-shirt. They melted right on there and gummed up the iron leaving a sticky residue that would not come off after multiple attempts scrubbing with wet rags, old toothbrushes, and more. (Wish I had thought to snap some before and after photos! You'll just have to trust me that it was bad!) Faultless was SO quick and easy to use, and afterward my iron looked BETTER than it had BEFORE the iron transfer disaster! For the price, it's a truly handy product to keep on hand, even if you just iron occasionally like me.
Generally I do not submit a review but considering that the helpful reviews of others helped me to decide on my purchase, I hope this review will do the same. This product worked like a charm, it did what it claimed to do. I wish I had before and after pics but I thought about after I saw the clean face of my iron. Without much pressure, I followed the instructions, applied the iron cleaner and moved the iron back and forth over the cloth and within about 5 to 10 minutes my iron was clean. As mentioned in other reviews, it gets very smoky in the cleaning process. No bad odor, just smoky.
So pleased that a product's claim is actually true! I have tried many different ways to clean my iron and nothing has ever completely removed the residue on my soleplate. Because the build-up on one portion of my iron was so bad, I did have to do 3 applications (as the instructions said). I had just a little residue left on my iron, so I applied a drop of the product to my cloth and rubbed it directly on the area of my hot iron. All of the residue came off and my soleplate looks brand new! It literally took 5 minutes. I highly recommend it!

Description
Faultless hot-iron cleaner 1oz (40110). this product is used for decorative purpose. This product is high quality highly durable product. This product is manufactured in United States.
using fusible interfacing for a few projects and using a pressing cloth on both sides of the project, still the glue seeps thru and make my iron sticky and uneven glide. I saw this product as a possible cure. It is so easy to use. My iron glides better than 1st out of the box. It is a miracle. I would highly recommend. Now I don't have to keep replacing an iron after using fusible interfacing.
This iron cleaner is great. Cleaned the face plates of three different irons with one tube (only part of each face plate was dirty - if the whole plate was really dirty you might need a couple of tubes for one iron). It's a smelly/smoky affair when you use this product. Best to do it outside.
I have searched high and low online, for tips on cleaning the faceplate of my Rowenta Iron. Until trying the Faultless Hot Iron Cleaner, nothing else even took the edge off the scorched residue on my iron.
You should know that you will more than likely need 2 tubes of this product if you have a heavily scorched faceplate. I purchased only one initially and, while it removed most of the residue, part of a second tube was needed to remove the last traces.
If this does not work for you, odds are you are not following the manufacturer's instructions precisely, or you are not using enough product. You do need to ensure the iron is hot, the water is removed, and you are using a cotton (not synthetic) towel to iron off the residue. You might also use a Magic Eraser if you have particularly stubborn spots.
After using this product, my stainless steel faceplate is scratch free, and once again appears brand new. Going forward, I will always keep a tube of this on hand for regular iron maintenance.
This is one of the few products that actually works as promised. If you follow directions you will be impressed by the results. Iron crud is one of those annoying unavoidable things that happens when you iron, where does that crud come from? I really have no idea, I suppose it could be grease or dirt. I know last week I was ironing a sweat shirt with a rubber decal, I accidentally ran the iron over it and caused a royal mess on the iron plate. I gave the faultless iron cleaner a shot, and voila the mess was gone! I mean it takes a bit of elbow grease to get the crud off. Just a hint, when running the iron over the towel as the manufacturer suggests, try creating a highpoint on the towel by rolling it into a ball to make a more positive contact area. I found this made the cleaning easier for tough cleaning jobs. Don't forget to turn off the steam function before you start, you want the iron hot and dry. Overall an excellent product.
Instantly removed some burnt on grime that I was trying to literally jackhammer away for years. I had actually stopped using the iron and switched to a steamer as I could not get the grime off previously. It took my iron's stainless steel sole plate from a grey color, removed stuck on grime and turned it a shiny silver. This iron cleaner made my iron new! Loved it so much that I went to my mom's house and cleaned her iron too. It smokes while you are cleaning your iron so open some windows. Will definitely re-purchase!
