We had an out of town wedding to attend, a family member, so we got involved in a lot of different aspects of the wedding. We ordered the steamer so that we'd be able to remove the wrinkles from the clothes that we had to pack for the trip...dress shirt, pants, dress...that type of thing. It worked great for all of these tasks and I would have been happy if that's all it did.Turns out the bride asked us to steam her dress, veil and petticoat since they had arrived wrinkled as well. It worked well for all of them. At that, I would have been very happy with the product.THEN, we were asked to steam the linen tablecloths that were used in the reception. I had to drape each one over a ladder, but was able to do them all and they looked great as well. The receptacle of water was a bit small for tablecloths, but it held plenty of water for the other jobs.I'm very happy with the purchase.
I LOVE this thing!! I bought it as an alternative to an iron (who has time to take out a big ironing board and heat up an iron in the morning??), and it was perfect. Some reviews, I believe, say it runs out of water easily, which I have not found to be true. Just be sure to screw the cap on tightly after refilling because that boiling water WILL spill out onto your hand and it HURTS!I have used this steamer on all kinds of clothes: sweaters, dresses, blazers, light blouses of all colors; it works very well on everything. Super easy to use and very easy to travel with as well.
This little gem works much better than expected, as long as you don't expect the results of an iron and ironing board. The unit heats quickly, lasts enough to do a few items, is compact, easy to use, and is lightweight. It seems well-built and does the job well. I believe if you follow the simple directions, you won't experience the sputtering some reviewers note. Always keeping the steamer upright, I've only had penetrating steam on my clothing and in order to reduce wrinkles to a minimum, you must put some tension on the fabric
