This was a great coat rack for my home! It was very sturdy and balanced well. My house set fire in May 2015 - the entire house was a loss. In this picture you can see that this coat rack actually held up the second floor that collapsed. I recommend this product to anyone, for both hanging coats and a safety net for your second floor in case it collapses in fire.
This is a great coat rack. Reading some of the other reviews has left me scratching my head. Maybe older orders received a different product? Pictures on other reviews don't seem to depict this one (the one I received looks exactly like the one advertised) and there is no part 'O' as described by another reviewer. I will say that some pictures depict a base that has rounded legs and what looks like one center screw holding it all together, This one has wider, more oval legs on the base, and is held together at the bottom by 4 screws, quite securely. This arrived nicely packaged, all parts intact, no rust, all pieces are heavily lacquered and shiny black. The instructions are pretty self explanatory, and even helpfully tell you in what order you should assemble the parts. The center upright piece does screw in quite snugly to the bottom upright piece (it doesn't just sit in it like a previous reviewer stated, there is a large double ended screw included just for that purpose) and it is quite steady. The screws are secured using a hex wrench which is helpfully included. The screw holes are tight, and do require a bit of elbow grease to get the screws seated snugly, but that is good as it means the screws aren't going anywhere once they are in. I was pleasantly surprised at the size and sturdiness of this coat rack, especially for the budget-minded price. I put it together in about 10 minutes, and it is now holding my 10 lb purse, two hats, and 5 jackets quite well. I purposefully didn't hang things equally, just to see if it would wobble or tip, and it did not. I am very pleased with my purchase!
We just moved to a state where it's colder and wetter than where we used to live, so all of a sudden we have rain jackets, light and heavy jackets, hats and scarves. I wanted to be able to grab what we needed quickly when taking the dog out, or just going outside. This coat rack was easy to put together. Took me about 10-15 min. We've been using it for almost 2 months now, and it serves it's purpose well. Lots of spots to hang lighter items such as Dog leash/harness, dog rain jacket, dog fleeces, and for the heavier items, rain jackets, heavy jackets. We've had no issues with it being wobbly, nor any other issues so far. For the price, I feel this was a great buy.
I ordered this coat rack after finally getting fed up with seeing coats and gloves sprawled across chairs and all over the house. I read reviews on almost every coat rack on Amazon under $100 and finally decided to order this one-- and I am so happy that I did!!! I put it together as soon as it was delivered in under 10min (just for reference, I'm a female and I hate using Allen wrenches, but this assembly was surprisingly easy and painless!) Once assembled, I hung all of the scattered coats, etc on it and was very impressed with how sturdy the coat rack was, since one of my biggest pre-purchase concerns was that it would be wobbly and/or not be able to handle as many things on it as I needed to hang (we moved from warm, sunny Florida to Erie, PA for school, and we came prepared with all sorts of winter gear after being forewarned about "Lake effect snow"). Overall, I'm very happy with this coat rack and much relieved to have an organized home again!
The screws won’t fit through the holes, even using a drill with a hex head bit. Why don’t sellers do quality control!?!
Update-Amazon corrected this, sent a new base and I was able to put it together. Being tall I love the height, it has lots of hanging areas, coats on the large pegs with hats and gloves on the small ones. Very useful and due to Amazons great customer service would repurchase for downstairs entryway.

Description
A classic design in Black metal finish, this coat rack is sure to dress up any home. It is perfect to add a touch of style to your entranceway, or even if you're simply looking for a functional item that will hold your coats.
After the wooden coatrack in the corner of our entry was knocked/fell over for the millionth time and broke, I looked for one to replace it and landed upon the Frenchi Furniture Black Metal Coat Rack. It was easy to assemble. My toddler and preschooler have yet to knock this one over, and it balances coats far better than our previous wooden rack did. I love the lower layer of hooks, as do my three children. They love that they can reach to hang up their own jackets and get them down. It's sturdy, balanced well, and is thus far holding up well to the daily use of a family of five. I am very pleased.
I decided to order based on the heavier total weight of the item compared to similar racks. I'd read some of the assembly/parts complaints and was relieved when it seemed I had all the parts. (some complained about missing screws). The instructions are totally visual, no directions. My only complaint was going to be that the screws seemed too short for attaching the bottom leg (E). (Those complaining about wobbling short legs have either reversed the 2 bottom pieces, or they've screwed one side of the bottom piece E in too far.) After I finished, I realized I had pieces leftover (in orange plastic wrap labeled 'E'). They were in fact longer screws for attaching the bottom leg. I switched those out. I had no trouble attaching the plastic cover piece. It is cut exactly to size and doesn't just slip down. It had to be worked down the rod to cover the screws and legs of bottom assembly. The resulting product is very sturdy. The assembly took about 10 minutes for me by myself. signed: 70 yr old woman :)
I have been searching for a nice looking full-sized black metal coat rack. I kept finding ones at home decor stores and furniture stores that were crooked yet were $50-100!
This is nice looking, sturdy, easy to assemble and full-sized. I just assembled it myself in about 20 minutes, taking the most time to adjust the bottom screws a few times to get a secure, non-wobbly and STRAIGHT base! I can’t handle crooked stuff coat racks, Christmas trees, hanging pictures, etc. 😉
Tested hanging heavy coats on this rack and it does very well. Great coat rack for the money!
I've never had a coat rack, but I'm surprised how convenient it turned out to be :)
My coat closet is 9 feet past my entry, so it's never been a big deal to use it. I definitely appreciate the steps I save having my coats and jackets right beside my door on the rack, and I noticed the convenience immediately.
When I'm heading out and change my mind on what to wear it's right there beside the door. I can snag it or hang it up with one hand since I don't have a coat hanger or door involved, and when I'm looking for a coat there's no searching - just a quick glance and I'm out the door.
I cleared 12 coats out of my closet freeing up a ton of space, and the space 12 coat hooks would take up on my wall for the same convenience would be much larger and wouldn't be portable.
Who knew? Coat racks are where it's at ;)
Made in China, but
1. no odor whatsoever
2. arrived undamaged
3. had all its parts
4. easy to assemble, good instruction sheet
5. does not wobble even on my slanted carpeted floor
6. not stylish, but not ugly either
7. eminently functional
Assembly took me about 40 minutes all by my 71 year old self (with arthritic hands and not much hand strength). Only tool needed was the included allen wrench. I built from the bottom up instead of the top down (as the instructions seemed to indicate). This gave me a stable base to work with. I do suggest that you only hand tighten the screws until you get them all in place for each section. Especially when you assemble the middle pieces with the lower row of hooks. You need to do just a little jiggling to get everything to line up and, if you tighten the screws too much as you put the hooks in, the last hook may be difficult to put on. The hardest part for me was screwing in the filial on top as it required more hand strength than I had. Laid the coat rack across my lap so I could get a good grip on the thing and was able to eventually get it screwed in. Should not be a problem for someone with normal hand strength. The very top hooks (the ones that stick out above the filial) should only be for hats or very lightweight items or you may shift the center of gravity enough to cause tipping. I've got mine now loaded with raingear, winter coats, sweaters, flannel shirts and a couple of knit hats. Seems very stable, very sturdy and works very well to keep items I need near the door.
