Quility Premium Kids Weighted Blanket & Removable Cover | 05 lbs | 36

I went back and forth between the weighted blankets. I was hesitant because of the expense. Here are the things I like about this one:
- it has an awesome cover which feels fantastic
- the cover ties to the blanket so it doesn’t slip and the blanket remains evenly distributed
- some of the other blankets don’t come with a cover so wind up being more expensive with purchase of cover
- feels really great on. I love it. The pressure is just enough. I got the 20 lb blanket and I weigh about 165.

Cons: my twin 4 year olds keep trying to steal it off me. Luckily they can’t pick it up 😬.

The quality seems to be excellent. Cover feels sooooo good and sewing on blanket pockets seems secure as does the zipper. Very pleased with purchase- would recommend and buy again!

tl;dr: Does what it is meant to do, with high quality and nothing lacking.

I can't speak on the individual merits of weighted blankets for everyone; what I do know is that I have been intrigued by them for some time. As someone who is prone to anxiety and sleeplessness, getting a good night's rest has been an elusive goal. But, these blankets are really quite expensive, and I was never quite sure how much to trust a bunch of Amazon reviews. I took the plunge on this one, and this is what I think:

I had very specific criteria I wanted in my weighted blanket: 20-25 lbs (I'm about 185 lbs), not too large, and with a good cover for the blanket itself. This guy managed to hit all of those criteria with superior quality.

Packaging: Very simple, came in a clear poly zipper bag, with a carrying handle. No extraneous packaging material around it, just a standard box. I would not advise using a blade to open the package. The bag will be kept for storage, as it seems sturdy enough.

Design: I chose this blanket because of the glass beads as opposed to silica sand or poly beads. The blanket makes little to no noise in the night, nothing more than any sheets might make normally. The beads are sewn into fairly large square pockets, and lays very flat on the bed. I've seen the diamond patterned blanket available on Amazon, and while that might be nice for making the blanket more mobile, this has served just fine. The square pockets, I feel, actually help it fold up better. There are string ties for the included cover. The cover is incredibly soft, and the textured side is a really nice touch. When attached and placing the blanket in the cover, I would recommend being aware of the weight of the blanket, as it could tear the ties if you try and stuff it in like a normal duvet. I have had no indication that the stitching is week or likely to fail in any place.

Size and Weight: I was a little concerned 20lbs wouldn't be enough, but it feels far heavier in reality than anticipated. It covers the full length of a queen mattress, and about 2/3rds the width; really, really nice for one person, but definitely not two. I was looking for weighted blanket that was on the smaller side (it seemed like a waste of the weight to have it all over the place and not on me!), and the dimensions are perfect.

Function: After about a week of use, I feel like the blanket works incredibly well. I know it will vary from person to person, but I've been sleeping 8-9 hours a night, falling asleep faster, tossing and turning less, and feeling better in the morning. I place it beneath the sheets and comforter, with the textured side down. I find the weight can actually be a little much in some body positions, and it has lead to me sleeping on my back, something I never did before. This, however, has been a pleasant development: the blanket in addition to the position feels a lot like shivasana at the end of a yoga session, very meditative and relaxing. The weight also seems to be at an optimal distribution in this arrangement. I will say that the addition of the blanket to my bedtime routine has made me very aware of my 'sleep hygiene,' in that I lay the blanket out on the bed before sleeping, and get right in and go to bed, no more staying up for hours on my phone, no more watching YouTube or Netflix before sleeping. I remove it in the morning and fold it up when I make the bed. Very nice, and very effective.

I would highly recommend this to anyone that is interested in the potential benefits this blanket could give to their nightly routine. I have yet to use it around the house or during other activities, but see no reason why it wouldn't be just fine in any case.

I’ve been researching weighted blankets for over a year. Many of the reviews I read mentioned unnatural shifting of weight distributed within the quilted chambers, leakage of weighting materials, poor sewing quality, having to buy separate (and expensive) covers, etc. This blanket has none of those issues. It is VERY WELL MADE and I’m sleeping BETTER than ever before. The extra attention to detail is apparent. The corners and side of the blanket have sewn-in tabs that allow you to tie and then zip the blanket securely inside the cozy, soft cover. It’s attractive and looks like a regular blanket on the bed.
I have to say that this blanket is one of the BEST investments I’ve made, hands down! It’s worth every penny.

Just got this today for my son who deals with anxiety sometimes. I got him the 12lb blanket as he weighs about 106lb.
I’ve been using the blanket for a few hours and I am very impressed so far. It seems well made, was packaged wonderfully, has no odor, is soft and is very warm but not hot (I can’t stand being hot under covers). Even though the weight is lower than recommended for my body weight, I am still experiencing the relaxing effect of the blanket. I feel like it is going to hold up well and assuming it does, we will be buying more. The fact that the cover comes with it (and on it!!) is a huge bonus, too. I definitely recommend this to anyone.
Also, I’m not being given an incentive to write this review - I’m just super excited and rely heavily on reviews for my purchases so I’m trying to pay it forward a bit!

Update: my son has been using it for just under a week and we have seen tremendous results. He is sleeping better and longer, wakes up more rested and in a better mood. It definitely is helping us start the school year off right!

I'm not sure how I've lived without a weighted blanket for this long. Approximately the size of a twin blanket, with weighted squares distributed from edge to edge. I've used the blanket for a week now, and have slept better than ever. The quality of this blanket is superb, the stitching is strong and the weighted portion of the blanket stays evenly distributed in the removable cover. I'm very glad that I opted to spend a tad more to get a product that is well made and looks great.

Description

Quility Premium Kids Weighted Blanket & Removable Cover | 05 lbs | 36"x48" | For a Child Between 40-70 lbs | Single Size Bed | Premium Glass Beads | Cotton/Minky | Grey/Grey

For years I have had a lot of trouble sleeping and suffer from pretty awful night terrors. Lately averaging to around five a week and not counting ones that occur within the same night. I usually wake up screaming or have someone else trying to wake me up because I'm screaming in my sleep. Most times when I wake up I'm too afraid to fall back asleep because of the severity of the night terror. Even if I don't remember the dream my adrenaline and heartbeat are so high that I struggle falling back asleep. The consistency of them have actually caused an irrational fear of sleep which is a nightmare in itself because I love sleep. For a while i resorted to sleeping with my mom or my sister, just having comfort knowing someone would be near me when I wake up afraid. I've tried melatonin, sleep aid, aroma diffusers, pillow spray, eye masks, lavender lotion, lavender oil baths, sleep sound apps, night lights and prescribed medicine. While some of those did help me to sleep it did not stop me from waking up with night terrors and the fear of falling back asleep.

Anyways, since I have bought my weighted blanket I can happily say it has worked 100%. Heck it may be all psychological, but whatever it is, it's working. I feel secure throughout the night and the weight is evenly distributed throughout the blanket in a quilted fashion. It weighs down on you AND around your body form, creating a feeling of safety (for me mimicking a feeling of being pressed up next to someone) on each side.

I hope my review can at least reach one person in good faith. I know reading another girls review on here persuaded me into buying it. Especially after researching other options and costs for DAYS. I have never written a review before but I didn't see anyone write about night terrors so I figured I'd add to the list of things this product can help with (: I'm in my young twenties and weigh 128 lbs so I decided on the 15 lb blanket, if that helps for blanket weight questions!

I've read about weighted blankets for the last few years, and finally took the plunge. I'm older, was having trouble sleeping, and wanted to stay away from medications. After a lot of research, the Quility blanket had all the features I wanted: especially the lower weight option (I'm about 125 pounds). Other positives are price, cover, and glass beads for weight. After about a week of use, I definitely fall asleep a lot faster and stay asleep during the night. Using it without the cover now and just sheets on bed because of the summer heat -- but blanket is not hot. The Quility appears to be of high quality, even though made in China, and was well packaged.

Pro's: I suffer from insomnia and restless legs syndrome. It took a couple of nights to really start to see the benefits of this blanket. This morning was probably the best I have felt so far. I love that it is a natural solution. Medications aren't 100% all of the time. I am hoping for the future that this blanket will continue to help bridge the gaps. If you are on the fence about whether or not to get it, I would. It is a lot of money to pay for a blanket in my opinion. Many of the other companies have plastic beads and that probably helps them keep the cost down. They also don't include an amazing cover for it! It is so soft and the colors are neutral.
Con's: Putting the cover on was challenging for me. I guess I can understand why they wouldn't have wanted to use Velcro. I am not taking any stars off because as I do it more that will probably become easier. The other concern that I have is the blanket itself isn't machine washable. The cover is, just not the blanket. I typically don't buy things that require dry cleaning. The included cover will help me from having to bring it to the dry cleaner regularly.
This purchase was an absolute splurge for me. I would do it again.

We discovered that my 17 year old son may have some sensory processing issues and on a hunch I purchased this blanket for him (15lb version). When it arrived it was neatly packaged and felt HEAVY, I was concerned I may have gotten too heavy of a blanket, but I brought it up to him.

He put the duvet cover on and slept with it overnight, when I saw him the next day he was responsive and looked rested, I asked how he liked it and he BEAMED, he loved it. Said he started to get antsy and pulled the blanket up, calmed right down. The soft-silky feel of the duvet was perfect for him, he loves any blanket with that texture.

Since then I have noticed he is more engaging, overall in a better, happier mood, and things that are stressing him out are not affecting him at the same level (as far as I can tell).

My only regret is not having found this product sooner.

You can read all the reviews , my conclusion is that it is an individual kind of thing. My experience was really good. I woke up this morning having slept 8 hours without waking up. That is epic for me. I can go to sleep but at some point I wake up, at times I seem to fight to wake up. Last night I slept all night. The blanket itself is really nice, the duvet gives it a luxurious feel. It is heavy if you lift it (the whole blanket) it is not heavy as you lie under it. I didn't overheat at all, just warm and cozy. I realize that one night is not a fair critique, but you would have to realize how unusual that is for me. I am celebrating this morning.
