HOMZ Over-the-Door Steel Top Ironing Board, Foldable, with Free Set of Dryer Balls Included

In rearranging rooms in our house we lost the space where we had the ironing board always set up. With four daughters we do a fair amount of ironing, at least once a day or more. I needed something easily accessible, but that would not always be out and in the way. This was the perfect solution. We have it mounted on the inside of a closet door, and the irons sits on a shelf in the closet. It has proved to be the perfect solution for our family and our house. Just one word of advice. Be sure there is an outlet near wherever you put this. It does no good to have an ironing board if there is no where to plug the iron in! :)

First of all, I never write reviews on products, I just don't take the time. However, this product was so exceptional that I wanted to put my two cents in. After reading the reviews, I was skeptical that this cover would not be wide enough for my over the door ironing board which is 14" wide, and the cover is 14" wide, as well. However, this fit perfectly on my ironing board. The padding that comes with it is exceptionally nice, cotton, not foam. I love this so much that I immediately ordered a spare to have on hand. Would highly recommend this cover over anything else I have seen. My ironing board came from Bed Bath and Beyond and measures 42" x 14", and this was a perfect fit.

This product was even better than described. The dimensions were as posted and exactly matched my over-the-door OTD board. It is easy to install, well made, and fits perfectly. For all those who complained about a poor fit, check your (OTD) board to make sure it has two little metal pegs at the base of the board over which the grommets in the cover easily fit. The key word in the product description is "grommets." If your board doesn't have these pegs, this cover was not made for your OTD board. When customers complained about a lack of padding, I was wary, but this, too, was a pleasant surprise. I am, after all, planning to iron on this board and not sleep on it.

Don't give up.
If your over-the-door ironing board looks like this picture, and the measurements match, it will probably fit. If your first effort seems utterly hopeless, there is probably too much cover overlapping the pointy end of the board.

This cover is for the sort of over-door ironing board that is made of a metal grid, with a tube surrounding it to shape the board. The cover is pad + cover sewn together, with two metal grommets at the side closest to the door. The grommets are what hold the cover in place; they fit over two pins on the back of the ironing board frame.

It took some determined tugging, some choice words, and some awkward maneuvering of the board between open and closed, but finally I got the grommets over the pins on the old frame (aged beyond memory, but in pristine shape). The board now looks new again, and I cheerfully threw out the old faded cover with the flabby elastic.

I see that some customers are complaining that the cover is too thin, but I must have low standards. It's pretty much the same thickness as the one that originally came with the board, although the fabric is a bit more coarsely woven. I expect to iron it into submission--ironically after all that pulling and stretching, the cover has some minor wrinkles.

I like this board shape because it is between a full-sized board and a sleeve board, and great for sewing. I'm glad it has a new life thanks to this new cover. I have yet to test the color-fastness under steaming, but since it's stain-guarded, I don't think the dark color will be a problem. Will update in the event of surprises.

This is a wonderful way to avoid lugging out a heavy ironing board (and having to put it back). It is smaller than a standard ironing board but it works for my purposes. I love that it is so easy to use. Just pull it down and it stays in place until you want to close it. Then, all you do is pull on a handle beneath and it magically closes. I would have preferred more padding, but that is my particular wish--and I could always add to that which came with the board--but it is not that important to me.
I love the convenience--that's what is really important to me.

It’s perfect for where we need it but I wish it had an adjustment for the height that it sits at while you iron.... my doors are older and a little taller than standard doors so it sits a little high

I have one of those ironing boards that hangs on a door- they store easily hanging on the door but they are smaller then traditional stand up boards. The padding wore out sometime ago and it has been a challenge finding a thick one that fits but this one does the trick. Fits right & is nice and thick. I would have given it 5 stars but I needed to get clips underneath to pull together for a tight fit. They were more then the pad lol but the pad was only $7...

I took a chance ordering this. I'd had my door hanging board for years and the elasticity of the cover had completely gone. I thought I was going to have to throw the whole this away but luckily I found this instead. It even has a couple of grommets to hook into the old board… I had no idea there was an industry standard to this! I might as well buy another one assuming years from now this one might give out to.

I was worried based on other reviews, that this would not work on my over the door ironing board. However, I was pleasantly surprised that this fits perfectly. You have to stretch it down to fit over the grommet hooks. Once hooked in it stays in place and no straps are needed. It's thicker than my original cover. It is a nice shade of blue. I am satisfied with this purchase.
