Orgain Organic Plant Based Protein Powder, Vanilla Bean - Vegan, Low Net Carbs, Non Dairy, Gluten Free, Lactose Free, No Sugar Added, Soy Free, Kosher, Non-GMO, 2.03 Pound

I just started drinking this powder a few days ago and my motto is if it tastes like crap it looks great on the body and if it tastes great well it doesn't usually look so great on the body which is why I bought this to begin with. I didn't want to mix it in my morning coffee that's how my son drinks it. Yuck! But I decided to just mix a scoop in some cold water and just stir it up and drink it and don't worry about the taste. Well I did that for 5 mornings this week and to my surprise by the 3rd day I had lost my taste for sugar and cravings! I was really surprised but that's the side affect for drinking this stuff๐Ÿ˜Ž I have lost a pound and I've been working out and my energy is like the energizer bunny! It's crazy as I am a almost 5 year stroke survivor working on getting my energy back up. About the taste once I get past the first sip I can drink the rest and it taste pretty good. I ordered myself a blender that I can't wait to try so I will come back and update this review next week!๐Ÿ˜Š I say treat your body good and it will feel amazing ๐Ÿ˜Ž

I used Shakeology for one year a while ago. I loved what it did for my body and health.what I didn't like was what it did for my pocket, it was just too expensive. I went 3 years without drinking protein shakes, because I didn't know I could fashion something similar to Shakeology by combining a full amino acid profile protein powder with a superfood powder plus flavors like raw cocoa and matcha. I chose Orgain because of the price, to be honest. My first purchase was the Chocolate flavor and I found two scoops in 8oz of liquid made an extremely sweet shake and I couldn't drink it. So I asked for a refund (and they didn't ask me to return the used canister!) and ordered the unflavored powder plus the Orgain Superfood powder. It's a winner!! I even like the texture better than Shakeology --- Shakeology was kinda gooey ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

I vary my smoothies, but my staple recipe is:

1 frozen Banana (bananas ripen too fast, so I freeze them in ziplock bags)
1/2 cup frozen mixed berries
2 tbsp Peanut or nut butter
2 scoops Orgain
1 scoop Orgain Superfood Powder
1 tbsp raw cacao
10 oz Almond milk

It's freaking delicious and filling, plus I noticed less bloating.

Absolutely recommended ๐Ÿ˜Š

I purchased this product with my own money. Orgain has never given me anything for my thoughts or opinions.

I have purchased Orgain protein powder many times according to my amazon order summary. I have purchased it at a few other places when Amazon runs out as well.

I like the taste, compared to other powders I have tried. It is not a DQ shake, but for a vegan protein shake it is good. I only mix it in smoothies with frozen fruits, and fresh produce. So the powder only provides a little sweetness and a lot of protein. If you hate all protein powders, you will probably hate this one too. Maybe if you hate all protein powders try drinking smoothies with just fruits and veggies, and get your protein from some other healthy source.

I realize there is a subset of people that say why smoothies? Just eat food. I was not 326 lbs because I was eating healthy foods. I was in the camp of people that thought fruit was a waste of calories. I mean come on, 2 apples have the same calories as a candy bar. But what I have learned is that two apples will nourish and fuel your body, leaving you satisfied. Sugar just trashes your hormones and metabolism. Calories are not the only thing that made me fat. Excess calories from poor nutrition made me fat. Protein smoothies were my baby step in learning how to eat the right stuff. I knew what to eat. I just did not want to do it. Protein smoothies taste good to me. They helped me to learn how to like eating fruit. I now eat whole fruits in place of junk food. I also eat a lot of fruits in smoothies with Orgain powder.

My overall review is fairly glowing, and I will let my 5 star rating stand, as I have lost over 100 lbs. The positive benefit of losing 100 lbs and keeping that weight off out weighs anything else for me. So maybe my thoughts are biased.
Protein smoothies and an otherwise terrible diet will not help you lose 100 lbs. But protein smoothies, and education may help you learn your triggers to bad eating, and they may help you compensate for cravings, and learn new cravings. It will be a struggle, and it will take time.
I do not use this powder in a shaker cup so I can not say how it does with those. I do use it as a component in a fairly complex smoothie with 3 or 4 types of fruit and some greens and juices. My smoothies are not low calorie. They are good calorie with great nutrition. They are not a full meal replacement, but they are close.
My smoothies run about 300 calories per serving. I consider a meal 500 calories, for my size and activity level. The nice thing about a smoothie is you can pour what you need and share the rest with your family.
My go to smoothies recipe is
1 blendtec designer 625 blender with 4 sided jar Blendtec Designer Series Blender, WildSide Jar - Black
4 oz of POM juice POM Wonderful Pomegranate Cherry, 100% Juice, 16-ounce, 6 Count
2 oz of lemon concentrate (gives fruit smoothies a jolly rancher effect) ReaLemon 100% Lemon Juice - 2/48 oz. btls. by ReaLemon [Foods]
4 ounces of coconut milk....So Delicious Dairy Free Organic Coconutmilk Beverage, Vanilla, 32 oz (Pack of 6) plus frozen strawberries, blueberries, and fresh green baby spinach.

this will make a thick smoothie, probably too thick for a ninja blender (been down that road) more liquid will help thin the smoothie if your blender can't handle it. When I had a ninja, the liquid had to be filled to the top of the greens at the least.
3 scoops orgain vanilla protein powder (that makes 33 grams of protein for the full pitcher of smoothie)
2 handfuls of fresh organic power greens, baby spinach will work great too.
2 handfuls of organic frozen strawberries
1 handful frozen blackberry, raspberry, blueberry combo
This will make a full jar of smoothie. 48 ounces I think. This is the family size recipie. Don't drink this all your self!! As a meal, this will feed two people. As a snack it will feed 6.

My life is great now at 215 lbs, and I am active. I can play with my kids and ride my bike to work. I could not do that at 326 lbs.
Orgain protein powder helped me. It tasted good enough to make a new lifestyle possible. It has good organic ingredients. It is a great component in my organic smoothies, that we still have several times per week.
Not everyone has the same goals, or problems I had. Your journey will be different.

Update:
For the best price, what I have found is that I can order 4 of these every other month, in the subscribe and save program. I also order some gummy vitamins, so that gets me to the five items needed for the 15% off. Then I pay with my Amazon store card. that gets me another 5% off. So I get 20% off each jug I order just by making sure I have 5 items shipped every time I get a subscribe and save. If you end up liking this product as much as I do, and don't use as much, you can order 5 and then skip months until it is all gone. I think subscribe and save even has an every 6 months option. Doing it this way gives you five for the price of four. That is how I get the best deal. But other than that I pay the same price anyone else would, and those discounts are available to anyone. Good luck and happy smoothing!

I think the key is to identify healthy choices and do them consistently. Protein smoothies can be an expensive way to get healthy. So using them as a supplement, may be a better choice for many. And eating healthy foods will be your best overall choice.

Getting exercise is also a great idea.
My hope with this review, is to encourage and inspire someone to make healthy changes. To show them that someone else has had struggles (and I still struggle, I wont even mention how badly I did this past holiday season. But with effort and consistency, there can be hope. Maybe you wont lose 100 lbs. but maybe your clothes will fit better, and you will be able to be a little more active. I remember how happy I was that my size 42 jeans were not tight any more. Now I can wear 34's, and I have gotten down to 32's when I got my weight down to 206. But so far I have not found that weight very sustainable.

I've been using this for about a year. I have tried about everything out there and
for the money...and being plant based...in my opinion it's right up there with
the top name brands; for a lot less cost. I mix it with Organic raspberries, blueberries, 1/2 of
banana, Green Vibrance and self ground Flax Seed; plus some high potency mutli vitamins with
minerals and Ubiqunol. I usually am never tired and have energy that keeps me going until
fairly late at night.I'm going to be 70 and something has to be helping me and I believe it is
this regiment. Good luck and God Bless

I am an amateur athlete who has lost 60 lbs. in the last 18 months. So far, I've been able to keep it off.

One of my many, many strategies for managing my weight, besides being much more active, is to make changes to my everyday eating habits. One of these is to treat myself to a frozen protein mix every few days. As the platform for this, I've used a variety of protein powders and nothing beats plant based protein for taste and low calorie density.

When I mix up Orgain in the vanilla or chocolate flavors (they have a new peanut butter flavor, which people are going to love, but I'm not a big PB fan...) with ice it tastes almost as good as ice cream. I can mix in some coffee, semi sweet chocolate, etc., fruits, etc., and get something that is low in calories, high in healthy protein, and tastes fabulous.

Orgain is my everyday go to protein powder.

This protein shake powder is great to mix with water or milk post workout or while you're on the go through your busy day. This is great for the entire family including kids!

Let me start by saying that I purchased the "Natural Unsweetened" flavor of this powder, since Amazon seems to lump all the reviews together. People who are complaining about aftertaste from stevia or erythritol probably didn't order this one because it doesn't contain those (though it does list "natural flavors" as a ingredient). I figure if I want to flavor it, I can do so myself, but I actually find it quite tolerable as is--per the directions, I mix it with either almond milk or water (or usually a mix of the two with mostly water), and it's fine--not award-winning taste, but I wouldn't expect that from something that is not sweetened and minimally flavored.

I normally use whey protein but wanted to try something else for when I didn't want quick-digesting protein, and I wanted to vary my sources by not consuming so much dairy while also avoiding soy. I thought about mixing pea and rice protein powders myself (to get a better amino acid profile than either alone), but then I found this, which mixes them plus a bit more, and it's just what I was looking for!

It's more expensive than whey, not quite as versatile, and has a different taste and texture (almost chalky but not disgusting--and, hey, it contains fiber), but it's about what I expected for a vegetable-based protein powder and it's certainly not bad. I will keep this in my rotation as something I use when I want extra protein but don't want to go for whey.

I am so surprised to read the negative comments! I'm on my second canister and have experienced only positive results, both for the vanilla flavor and the chocolate. I have put it in water or almond milk in a shaker bottle and it's fine. I blended it with fruit to make a smoothie. Of course a smoothie will always taste better than plain shaking (!) but honestly, I have tried that with some other protein powders and I can't even choke it down. This is very tasty no matter how I make it. And I feel good - no gas, no side effects in taste or digestion. Plus it sustains me till the next meal. I have tried a LOT of different plant-based protein powders and this one wins, hands-down!

Never thought the day I decide to review something it’s protein...
I bought this flavor hoping it was taste ok because the other flavors had good reviews but I was worried since I couldn’t find any matcha latte reviews.
I’m posting this with the intention of helping people make a decision.
This is the BEST protein I have had in my life.
The flavor is not too sweet and taste like an actual matcha latte! It is smooth unlike most gritty proteins and it blends well with ice and almond milk!
My only complain is mine came half empty I’m not sure if that’s normal or not but either way totally worth it! Will be repurchasing!

Five stars & more! Absolutely the finest & best protien powder that is out there which is all Vegan & couldn't get any better! I've tried so many top brands wasting hundreads of $ but each time, I could not continue using the same owing to either it being very unpleasant, chalky in taste & texture resulting in bad stomach bloats, headaches, digestion issues what not! Also being a total Vegan, I so wanted a perfect, clean, plant based high end protien powder to be able to incorporate the daily required protein in to my vegan๐ŸŽdiet! Needles to say, that this has met all the above criteria of an best vegan protien & some more! This stuff is just amazing ๐Ÿ‘ Blends so well in to my smoothies, fruit juices and even with just a plain cup of cold water. Also it is helping me lose some weight :) which a bonus & of course, I work out & watch what I eat too.. I guess This is my new go to super protien powder...Highly recommend it if you want a best tasting, natural, top quality vegan protein..Five Stars all the way!

I've had a very hard time finding protein powders that work for me in the past. They usually make me ill, and extremely gassy, but this one doesn't! I can't say whether it's helping me with muscle gain because I just started taking it, but I can say this is the first protein powder that doesn't make my stomach hurt. It doesn't leave that awful after taste in my mouth. It doesn't make me gassy; though like any other protein I've taken, it does make the gas I do have smell worse. The fiber seems to have also helped regulate my digestive system a little bit too, so that's an added bonus. I only take 1 serving a day, and I dissolve it in the recommended liquid to powder ratio that they have on the bottle. It creates a pretty smooth consistency, that doesn't taste chalky. Taste wise, it has also been the best protein powder I've tasted to date. Though to be clear, drinking it by itself is not like having a delicious milkshake. I do add some chocolate spread to it to make it better for myself, but I add very little to this one in comparison to other powders I've had. I highly recommend this to anyone who's looking for protein powder.
