TOSOT 30 Pint Dehumidifier for Small Rooms up to 1500 Square feet - Energy Star, Quiet, Portable with Wheels, and Continuous Drain Hose Outlet - Dehumidifiers for Home, Basement, Bedroom, Bathroom

We have had numerous dehumidifiers for our 1500-square ft basement, where we keep several bookshelves of books that would deteriorate in high humidity. This 30-pint dehumidifier is exceptionally efficient, pulling moisture out of the air even when there are heavy rains outdoors. Recommend this unit HIGHLY. Easy to set up; filter access is easy. We attach a drain hose to our unit, so don't have to empty the reservoir. Water just drips into downstairs basement drain.

We purchased this de-humidifier to replace one that lasted only 18 months. It is used in a finished, conditioned basement. My husband has a train layout that is very sensitive to humidity and here in the South we really have high humidity. After ordering the Tosot 70 was here in two days, we unpacked it and set it up with a hose to drain direct to a floor drain. This de-humidifier is very quiet compared to our previous one. The air in the basement has less humidity and that is a win win for us. This is the second TOSOT, we are very satisfied with both the 50 and 70 pint models.

Attractive and quiet, the dehumidifier that is..... Using in a 1300 sq.ft. basement.Has removed 4 gallons in 24 hrs.Shipper did an excellent job in a timely manner.I'll do an update in 3 months and another at 1 yr.I did a brief search to learn more about this company. They primarily manufacture residential and commercial air conditioners, so dehumidifiers would be a logical offshoot in their product line. Most, if not all dehumidifiers are of Chinese origin.I want to go on record as stating they make {China} many high quality consumer goods and if most of us gave an honest opinion we would all agree. I believe I read one review that mentioned an unacceptable noise level. My 70 pint is super QUIET. A 5 star review on anything these day is hard to find. My hope is that this one is just that. As a genuine reviewer, I can always give honest feedback to questions.

Have a 1600 sq ft garage with cathedral ceiling. This device brought it from 72% to 45% in less than 6 hours. Works much better than expected. Generated heat is minor as it raised the room temperature less than 2 degrees. Very quiet for what it does -- I use it on the HIGH setting and its sound is about equal to that of an 18" fan. On Low and Medium it is even less intrusive. Couldn't be more pleased!

The first unit we received had a large crack in it, but that was the fault of the UPS driver who apparently just threw it on the porch as the box was damaged as well. We re-ordered and have had our new unit working for the past few weeks. The pipes in the basement typically produce A LOT of dripping water due to the hot temps outside and the air conditioner working so hard inside. But since we've installed the unit, we've had no moisture whatsoever. I'm very pleased with it.

Feature Product

  • 30 PINT ROOM DEHUMIDIFIER: This sized unit is perfect for basements or other medium-sized rooms. In just one day, you can remove up to 30 pints (4 gallons) of moisture from your home. Not only are humid homes sticky and uncomfortable, the high moisture levels can damage your health and your belongings.
  • ENERGY STAR RATED: We don't have to all become tree-hugging hippies to agree on climate change (it's real) but one thing we can all agree on is the sweet relief of saving a few bucks on your monthly energy bills, am I right? Energy Star-rated appliances are not just better for the environment, but also for your wallet.
  • BASEMENT DEHUMIDIFIER: By pulling moisture out of your dingy basement you can create a more comfortable and safe environment for your family.
  • QUIET OPERATION: You don't always see it... but that's the point. A peak sound level of 48 decibels means you'll hardly notice the dehumidifier is running. For comparison, 50 decibels is about as loud as a secluded suburban street or a normal conversation at home, so you will never have to choose conversation over comfort again.
  • POWER OUTAGE RESTART: If you experience a power outage due to a storm, you do not want to have to go around resetting all of your applainces and electronic devices. TOSOT dehumidifiers will revert back to their previous settings once power is restored, giving you one less thing to worry about after you get back on the grid.

Worked for my situation. Easy to set up for continuous operation in my basement. I connected a 6ft washing machine hose to the back of unit and ran the hose to the sump pit, no issues thus far.

I really like this dehumidifier. I have only been using it for a about 6 days but it has done a great job in that time. I live in a small studio apartment - 300 square feet. I got the 50 pint because the humidity is extremely high (80+) and an ongoing problem. And I just wanted to be sure my bases were covered.

It is very easy to use. The manual was easy to understand and straightforward. The water tank is as large as I expected - not so big as to make it hard to empty, not so small that it has to be emptied annoyingly often (for me). I empty the tank about twice in 24 hours.

It is a lot less loud than my old dehumidifier. That being said - it was still loud enough that I had trouble sleeping with it about 5 ft from my bed. I solved the problem by moving it farther away - down my hall about 10 feet. Now I sleep just fine. For reference, my old dehumidifier was 60 decibels. This one is 52 on highest fan speed, and 48 on lowest. In searching for a dehumidifier, noise level was the biggest issue for me. This is the only company I found that listed the decibel rating of their product. I am pleased with the sound level. In normal daily conversation it is not intrusive at all.

I live in south Texas - so I need the dehumidifier basically year round. The apartment I live in has new construction but had trouble with mold in the past. I want to prevent that from being a problem again, as I am severely sensitive to it.

What else...? It’s done great for me so far. The company sent me an email offering support should I ever need it. It’s sleek looking. It vents up - which I quite like. The water tank has a handle - which is nice. It pulls a lot of water - which is what you want a dehumidifier to do! It stays around 45-55% now and had been at 88% humidity for a long time. The casters roll smoothly. I don’t yet know whether it is energy efficient. It probably is. The humidity readout has been accurate so far.

Oh yes - there was a strong plastic smell while it was running at first. It worried me a lot at first. But It really only lasted the first 24 hours. I wore nose filters to bed and when I woke the next day the smell was much better. The day after that it was almost entirely gone. And now I don’t smell it at all.

Ok, I think that’s it. Hope this helps someone.

We bought this unit to dehumidify a 3-car garage in central Florida. It does a FANTASTIC job! I read so many opinions online that said it was impossible to dehumidify a garage because the doors aren’t well sealed, and they let in too much outside air. I am happy to report that they were wrong.

Our garage was coated with mold and our equipment was rusting. It took about 3 days on high setting to get the moisture out of all the stuff stored in the garage. During that period, I emptied the container 3 times a day. Once everything was bone dry (less than 40% humidity), I set the unit on low and connected a garden hose to drain automatically.

When we open the garage door, the humidity usually jumps to about 55%, but very quickly returns to less than 40% soon after the door is closed.

This DOES work. We don’t have any more problems with mold or corrossion. Don’t hesitate to get one of these if you are having problems with mold in your garage.

I live in Arizona which has very low humidity. Residents here by humidifiers not dehumidifiers. Needless to say when I went to Home Depot an employee I asked had no idea what I was wanting and they did not have any in stock at the local stores. However I was in the need for one as my "Man Space" has about 300 gallons worth of 10-55 gallon aquariums for hobby and breeding fish and humidity quickly began to rise and become a risk to different aspects of my home/hobbies. The humidity levels in my roughly 400 Sq ft room was about 60%-70%. Not wanting to risk black mold in the walls or water damage to my electronics/hobby tools I decided to try this dehumidifier out based on reviews and price. I originally purchased a $49.00 thermal dehumidifier which basically did nothing so naturally a compressor unit was my next best bet. I will tell you now that this thing works amazing. I pull 30 pints of water from my one room about every 30-36 hours. I set my humidity for 35% so it runs pretty frequently but keeps it right where I want it and has had no issues for over 5 months (also measured on a digital humidity/temp).

The following are my pros and cons which I will update a year from purchase.

PROS:
1.) Well priced for the market
2.) Relatively quite, my buddies can't hear it when we are gaming late at night through my mic/headphones. It also can not be heard when my door is shut at night so it does not wake my kids.
3.) Basically plug and play
4.) Easy to remove and empty well
5.) Easy to use settings

CONS: None to date (will update if needed)

We've had the dehumidifier for about a month and it works great. Possibly too great.

I got tired of emptying it which involved a trip to the basement several times a day. I left a bucket at the top of the basement stairs and would carry it down to the dehumidifier, empty the dehumidifier into the bucket, carry the bucket back up the stairs, and empty it into a sink. The dehumidifier holds a lot of water (2 gallons?) but would fill its tank in 4-6 hours and then shut off until it was emptied.

I ended up purchasing a pump and hose (easy to install) so the dehumidifier empties into the pump holding tank (not the dehumidifier water tank) and then the pump moves the water up to a washing machine drain on the first floor.

In hindsight, I should have ordered the more expensive model with the built in pump.
