So easy to use! And I love that the cuff fits my smaller arm and my Dad bigger one! He loves it. All the features like the BP level bar, self inflation, irregular heart beat detector are amazing! And its quite durable as well. Also cost efficient. I would definitely recommend it. Health is wealth y'all

I purchased this product because I needed a new blood pressure monitor for a loved one. They were experiencing issues with their blood pressure and they needed an accurate monitor to help keep track of it. I went online to find so many options and became overwhelmed. I eventually narrowed it down to a couple of monitors and this was one of them. I read lots of the reviews and did see some negative regarding inaccurate reading, but I still took a chance. This brand has a strong name and all the positive outweighed the not so positive reviews. I am in the medical field, so I know that accurate blood pressure readings are very important. The package was in pristine condition and I immediately read through the operating booklet and tested it out. The readings are very accurate and it does get the reading in a shorter amount of time compared to some other machines which is great. I would definitely recommend this blood pressure monitor to anyone that is currently in the market for a good dependable machine.

Very good product. My doctor made me return another one I had purchased on Amazon saying that this was the best brand to go with. I was really impressed with their customer service when I called because I was worried I wasn't take my BP correctly (although there are detailed, excellent instructions--I was still afraid of doing something to make it less than accurate.) Lovely people who are patient and kind and smart answer the phone. Glad I bought this.

I purchased this device on the recommendation of my physician.
Accuracy: I was not satisfied that the readings were accurate, but when I had a medical professional measure my BP manually, it was within 2-3 points. I am convinced the readings are accurate.

Convenience: I am very pleased the monitor saves 50 previous readings for up to 2 people. This is a great feature, as I enter weekly values on a spreadsheet chart, so I can see how my BP is trending. It has keeps me motivated to track my progress in managing hypertension.

Ease of use: The cuff is fairly simple for one person to adjust (more on that below, under Cons). Once the cuff is securely in place on the arm, a single button press begins inflating the cuff. Results for Diastolic, Systolic and Pulse are displayed in large, easy-to-read numbers. There is also a little bar chart on the right side of the screen, for a graphic representation indicating where your systolic or diastolic relates to the "ideal range".

Con: The directions clearly say that the cuff should be 1.5" above your elbow. No matter how far I slide up the cuff, it is only about a 1" above my elbow. Although the cuff is designed to fit a wide range of arm DIAMETERS, at 5.75" wide, the width of the cuff is too large for my upper arm. I spend quite a few minutes sliding it up and securing it, all the while ensuring the hose runs to the inside of my arm. It would be helpful if the cuff came in a smaller width to make it a bit easier to use.

The Omron BP 742N 5 Series blood pressure monitor has an easy-to-read and understand display. This piece of medical grade equipment is an excellent value, but then again, what price can you put on your health or preventive maintenance? I highly recommend this product to anyone that desires to monitor their blood pressure.

I wanted a reasoably priced at home unit. After a lot of research I chose this Omron. It is easy to set up and use. I do find that the squeezing pressure of the cuff is to the point of being painful. Besides that this unit works as described.

The 5 Series home blood pressure monitor with Omron’s Advanced Accuracy helps ensure consistent, precise readings. This model is quick and easy and has a few more features than the 3 Series Upper Arm, like dual settings for two users, memory storage space for up to 100 readings and a wide range cuff that fits standard and large arms. When you trust your heart to Omron, you’ll be empowered by accuracy.

Prior to purchasing and using the Omron BP7-42N Series 5 I've used three different types of personal Blood Pressure monitors over the years and have had various degrees of satisfaction with them. The first one was about three times the size of the OMRON unit and the LCD scree is now losing its ability to show the numbers. it's size made it unsuitable for travel. The last one bought at Walgreen about 5-6 years ago is about the same size as the OMRON and came with a handy pouch but felt very plasticky and had similar memory capabilities but did not have the ability to average readings.
The OMRON feels more substantial. It also has clearer screen display. The OMRON seem to find a suitable range to begin deflating the arm cuff more accurately. Occasionally the Walgreen model would need to re-inflate the arm cuff to get the proper SYS reading.

Overall I am pleased with the OMRON and look forward to years of reliable accurate usage.

My husband's doctor directed him to monitor his blood pressure over a couple of weeks. He told us that everyone taking medication for high blood pressure should have a monitor and use it daily.
We chose this one and have been very pleased. We compared it to the one used at the doctor's office to ascertain it was accurate. This one was well priced, accurate, and easy to use. The information the doctor wanted was stored in the monitor's memory so the doctor could review my husband's readings for a month.

Replaced a 5+ year old Omron. Near the end of its life it was making unreliable and Inconsistant measurements. It was used every day, multiple time a day, so I'd say it had a hard life. The end came when the internal pump failed and was just making farty noises, LOLS...
I think the old one held up pretty well, so I stuck with the Omron brand when I bought a new one. The display in the new one is crisper, darker, easier to read. The blood pressure cuff is better made. It reminds me of the cuffs that I see in my doctor's office and at the hospital.
I don't know how long this new Omron will last, but that's ok.

Note: The old Omron provided a little AC adapter so you could save on batteries. This new Omron does NOT. Batteries on the older model lasted me between 3-4 months before needing replacement. I use high capacity Duracell batteries. I'm hoping that the same will be true for the newer model.

My doctor recommended I get a self-use blood pressure monitoring system to check my reaction to new BP lowering meds and he recommended one that is used on the biceps and not the wrist area. I purchased this unit for an excellent price (much lower than my local drugstore sells them for) and it's great. It's easy to use, accurate, records each reading digitally, and stores easily. I most highly recommend it.

I purchased this to replace my older Omron BP checker. It is more than 10 years old, and kept reading more than 10 less than what other ones that I would use. So far this one seems to be working fine. Its very easy to use. Just put the batteries in it and press the start button. It also has monitoring for 2 different people controlled easily by a simple slider switch that gives you person 1 or person 2. This is small enough so when I go for my checkup I can take it with me and show my Doc the whole history of my readings.

Follow-up (7 Feb 2019): The batteries died. They are no problem to replace. It seems everything uses "AA" size batteries so already had some on hand. So they lasted about 3 months of almost daily BP checking. The memory stays after the batteries were changed so I can still show the doc my results since I got it. I was worried the memory would erase when I changed the batteries, but it does not. I would give it another star if possible.
