I love that this thermometer has three "faces" - sad face, straight face, and happy face. Gives you a fast idea of what temps are too high and what temps are okay. It pointed to the straight face and then the sad face for me today... along with telling me my temp. Sick day for me!
And it just sat there for over a year because I felt fine. Last weekend I wasn't feeling fine and got it out of the bathroom closet to use. Not the best time for an initial review of it since I had even less patience than usual, but the reality is that it had a user manual that required reading glasses, page tabs and a cross-referenced index. Let's just say I wasn't thrilled, put it back and I went out to the kitchen to put my cooking probe thermometer under my tongue. The glitzy one is going to the resale shop for someone either more skilled or patient.
Back to Amazon: all I wanted was on/off/temp, and this thermometer seemed to fit the bill. Got it today and it's just what I need: on/off/temp. Don't plan to change from F to C, but I can see how to do it. Sometimes simple is still the best. Thanks!
Received this Proven Digital Thermometer 3 weeks ago. Wow, I love it. There are so many digital thermometers on the market, and trying to buy one can seem hopeless standing in front of the display at the drug store not knowing if the more expensive one is better than the cheap one. Okay, it's a thermometer. What can be special about it? This thing reads temperature super fast. Granted, the one I had before this was from the 90s, but it always took an eternity to read. The fact that this one is super fast makes it so much easier when you have an antsy 3 year old daughter whose already not feeling well.
First let me say that having a thermometer that is ready to use when you turn it on is a valuable feature in my opinion! Nothing worse than having a sick child and needing to know their temperature NOW! It also registers in 8-10 seconds when used orally. I received this product for review purposes. I really liked the design, the smiley faces were something extra and cute and the actual product was soft. When testing it out, the readings were not very accurate unless we held the thermometer in our mouths for about 30 seconds first, THEN hit the start button. After we did that, it was perfect. So maybe I got a defective one, maybe it needs to be tweaked. I don't know. But I'll certainly be using it.
We had bought the ear/forehead thermometer. It seemed to lose it's accuracy over time. I was tired of wondering if it was accurate, so I gave up and bought this. I have to be able to trust the reading and I need it to be fast. This thermometer will give a result twenty seconds. It seems very accurate. It comes with a protective plastic holder with a locking top. Very handy in the middle of the night. It will remember the last temp is recorded. Easy to use and good price and fast shipping. I recommend this thermometer.
This thermometer seems to work and be fairly accurate. Though, like more oral thermometers, it will be inaccurate if you have had anything to eat or drink in the last 20 minutes. My major complaint is that the built-in beep is so soft and high-pitched that this over 40 male cannot hear it all all. Thankfully, my wife can hear the tone, so I know that it actually works. Any way, if you are hard of hearing in the slightest, this is not for you.
I like the idea of the flexible end on this thermometer. It is much more comfortable. The smiley face indicators to tell whether there is a fever or not is not really a big selling point to me but my kids like to see if it says they have a fever. It also takes some of the guess work out for my husband when he takes the kids temp. He uses it to know at what point should they get a dose of meds or not. It also has a clear case to keep it protected and clean. It is quick and easy to use so I would definitely recommend it.
Great product a great price. Worked like a charm. The beep let's you know what's happening. I was able to use it the first time, easily, on my very sick, feverish self! Recommend!
